i woke up earlier than i liked to, due to the gap in the curtains, letting out a beam of orange sun light. i rubbed my eyes and didn't see sherri in her bed. thinking nothing of it i rolled over went on my phone. after about five minutes, i had remembered the fact that my sister wasn't in the room and it was only 8:45. i got out of bed and walked towards the bathroom when there was a high pitch beep and our door opened. in walked a sweating sherri in a purple gym set.

"where've you been?" i asked confused.

"went on a run with jamie" she said bending over trying to catch her breath.

"shut up you wouldn't go on a run" i laughed to myself at the thought of sherri actually agreeing to go on a run.

"nah i'm being serious" she replied. i climbed back onto my bed.

"did you actually?" she replied with a 'mhm'.

"we ran along the beach. and then on the way back we stopped and got an iced coffee. and because i'm such a great great sister i got you an iced chai" this made me sit up.

"thank you" i smiled carrying out the 'you'. i took the drink and sat on the chairs out on the balcony. ri joined me.

"jamie was telling me how much trevor has been talking about you" she grinned lifting her sunglasses to the top of her head. i needed to know more.

"sherri you can't just leave me hanging like that. what was he talking about" i snatched her sunglasses and put them on.

"oi. he's been like 'dotty is so sweet and so hot i'd totally smash-'" she impersonated him mimicking how he acts, making me laugh.

"ri come on be serious" i giggled.

"okay okay. jamie said he talks about how cool you are and that he thinks you're really sweet and pretty" i sunk into my chair, my cheeks flushing a rosy red colour. sherri looked over to me and noticed. "aww is little dotty getting all embarrassed" she said in a baby voice, reaching over to pinch my cheeks. she laughed as i swatted her hand away from my face.

i finished my drink and sherri walked back into the room. "what a state it is in here." she commented.

"bet it smells well bad and we just haven't realised" i said back to her. making her chuckle.

"i'm popping into the shower" she shouted. she shut the door and turned on the shower, as well as some music. 'super rich kids' by frank ocean was playing. i sang along.

read some of my book until she came out of the bathroom and i then took a shower.

i changed into an orange and white cloth crop top with white shorts and my new balances. i let my hair air dry and put it into a claw clip. i applied sun cream everywhere and curled my eyelashes. sherri had changed and we walked down to the lobby.

"how much money are you gonna bring?" she asked me.

"only like €15" she nodded. we walked out of the lift and towards where trevor and jamie were standing. we greeted each other and made our way to breakfast.

"y'know sherri and jamie went on a run this morning" i said to trevor as we sat down, ri already over at the breakfast bar getting a bowel of mixed fruit. he snorted.

"yeah he told me. he said that sherri couldn't wait to see the look on your face when she told you where she had been" i smiled. we turned to jamie.

"what?" he questioned.

"how was the run?" i asked wiggling my eyebrows.

"it was good, yeah. although we did have to stop every five minutes for her to take pictures" he said and ri returned. classic sherri.

"whatcha talkin about?"

"nothing, i'm going to get food." i said standing up. trevor joined me. i got what i had gotten the previous morning, greek yogurt with raspberries.

"c'mon dot you gotta eat more then that" trevor said. dumping a load of nutella into my bowel.

"what? this is what i ate yesterday"

"so? that's not a lot of food to get you through the morning. y'know what they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day" he says in a jokey way, making me break into a smile. "but seriously eat more" he said before kissing the side of my temple and going to sit back down. i had gotten a bowel of coco pops as well as my bowel of yogurt and went to join everybody.

"-yes i really want to get a couple of those beaded shell bracelets or necklaces" sherri was going on about. "what are you gonna get from the shops?" she asked me.

"hmm not really sure, i'm defo gonna get something for mum and dad-"

"i'm getting something for them" sherri cut me off.

"s'fine we can both do that. and i'm gonna get something for delilah" i replied, to which ri nodded.

"whose delilah?" jamie asked. delilah was one of my closest friends. we had become friends after being the only girls in my work experience course. we had lunch together on my first day and clicked.

"m'bestfriend" i replied, making jamie and trevor go 'ohhh'.

"i'm going to get something for jack and the boys i think" trevor said to jamie.

"yeah cole said he wanted a magnet that says "I❤️C" to put on his car keys." this made trevor chuckle, his eyes squinting.

"ohh that's who was commenting on my insta the other day, jack?" everything made sense. trevor nodded.

"yeah jack's been my friend since forever. and he has an older brother, quinn and a younger, luke. and they all play hockey-"

"yeah although, quinn hates trevor-" jamie started, grinning.

"shut up no he doesn't" trevor shook his head chuckling.

"he does" he mouthed to sherri and i.
