"i look so cute in that pic of me you put on insta" is the first thing that sherri says as she exited the bathroom, with a white head towel around her head and a matching hotel wrapped around her body. i humed in response, opening my suitcase on the floor.

"maybe we'll meet a couple of boys this summer" she sighed, playing with the ends of her wet hair.

i snorted, "yeah let's hope the same thing that happened last year doesn't repeat" last year, sherri fancied a boy, sorry, a man on our trip to greece. she met him in a club there, that we snuck into. i'm guessing that they did it because i saw her come back to me with a giddy smile on her face, dress strap over her shoulder, and her left shoe no where to be found. but, it turns out that he was on his HONEYMOON. after that stand incident, she swore on our dead rabbits life to never trust a man that said he was on his 'lads trip'.

"oh my days, don't ever remind me of that" was the last thing that i heard before getting in the shower.

after i got out of the shower, i pulled a green dress with yellow and white patterns on it. i didn't bother blow drying my hair. because i knew it would dry in the heat. i noticed sherri had changed into a trapless sage green top with a white skirt.

"you look nice" i said, brushing my damp hair with a brush.

"thanks, that dress looks cute in you" she replied.

"hey what time did mum tell us to meet her and dad in the lobby?" i shrugged.

"i'll text them that we're ready" she said.

"oi i'm not ready yet!"

"then hurry because she's just texted back saying they're on their way down" great.

i curl my eyelashes so quickly out seems as if my eyelashes will fall off. i run a spoolie dipped in vasaline through them to stop them looking short. i slid my white sandles on and quickly grab a lip balm and some white heart sunglasses. as i'm walking towards the door i run back into the bathroom and get my jewellery. i'd be nothing without jewellery. summer was good winter was silver. i put a pair of thin gold hoops on, clasped my necklace around my neck and slid on my bracelets.

"i'm so excited to take good pictures" said ri excitedly.

"did you bring your disposable camera?" she questioned me.

"yeah it's in my backpack, i'm gonna put film in it tonight after dinner."

"okay good, we're gonna look so cute in those pictures" she smiled sweetly.

"we so will" i lifted my arm up to high five her and she claps my hand. the lift opens and we walk out and see mum and dad standing next to a fish tank.

"oi oi!" sherri sounded to get their attention as we walked towards them. dad waved in our direction and mum smiled.

"you too look nice, what dress is that dotty?"

"what do you mean 'what dress is it?' mum it's just a dress" she made a face at me meaning 'stop it with the attitude'.

we walked around the hotel grounds for 15 minutes or so, mum seemed to stop everywhere we went to take pictures of us. we finally decided where to go for dinner. it was an outside restaurant with umbrellas shading the day sun, which has already started to set, making the air only a little bit cooler. we got sat at a four seated table, sherri and i one side with mum and dad on the other.

while i was eating garlic bread, someone caught my eye. behind mum and dad say two boys who seemed my age, maybe a bit older. one of the two boys had brunette hair and wore a navy shirt with sunglasses rested on the top of his head. the boy next to him had light-ish brown hair that stuck out under his cap, that he was wearing backwards. he wore a white tee-shirt with a silver chain round his neck. he was the prettiest i had ever seen. his eyes were beautiful.

i was still wearing my white heart sunglasses, even though the sun had set. i lifted them to rest on my hair to get a better look at the two ever so casually. i made eye contact with mr pretty eyes while he was taking a still from his drink, which looked like a lemonade.

the longest time we kept eye contact for was 6 seconds, and yes i did count. we kept making eye contact throughout the night until him, his friend and i presume their parents left the restaurant. i couldn't wait to tell ri this once we got back to are room.
