Chapter 24

We walk into the living and all the guys were sitting and talking. Adrian had his head in his hands and didn't seem to be listening to the conversation.

"We can't kill him yet, we need to see if there's more." Colin said.

"He deserves to die for what he did to Owen, we can't just let him go free." Peter argued.

"I know that he needs to pay but what if there's others that kill humans? We need to stop them from killing innocent people." Colin argued back.

"Oh stop acting so high and mighty, remember 1750? When you killed twice as many people as me. So stop acting like you really care about the humans." Peter spat.

"We all killed back then you can't hold that against me." Colin said standing up.

Peter stood up as well "Well I just did."

The next thing I knew they were both throwing punches at each other.

I couldn't stop thinking about what Peter and Colin said, "We all killed back then," It never really occurred to me that Bailey killed people, but what was I really expecting though? She's a vampire.

I watched as Peter and Colin fought as did everyone else until Andrew got up and picked Peter up.

"Let me go Andrew this guy needs to learn him lesson." he said struggling against him.

Ricky jumped up as well and grabbed Colin. I was surprised that Colin was fighting, he seemed like a gentle person but looks can be deceiving.

"Colin calm down." Ricky said calmly and Colin slowly stopped struggling and glared at Peter.

"Peter how about we go into the other room so you guys can have some time to cool down?" Andrew said and carried Peter out of the living room.

I noticed how Andrew said "we" instead of "you", huh.

We walked towards the guys and Ricky saw me and immediately smiled.

"Hi Alex!" he said cheerfully.

"Stop being so cheerful, it's too early." I say and me and Bailey sit down on the couch.

"But it's like 3:30 in the afternoon." Ricky said confused.

"Good job, you can tell time." I say sarcastically and Bailey pulls me closer to her.

"Aww. You guys are so cute." Ricky said, letting go of Colin and guiding him to the couch where he was sitting before.

"Shut it Ricky." Bailey said and shot him a playful glare.

"So are you two finally together?"

Bailey looked at me and she smiled, "Yeah."

Wait what? Since when? I did not consent. But did I mind that she said we were together? I guess not.

"Yay. You two are such a cute couple." Ricky cheered.

"Um this is news to me." I say glaring up at her and she looked away embarrassed.

She leaned down and whispered "Will you be my girlfriend?"

Part of me wanted to say no, don't let her in, don't let down your walls. But I really like her and maybe I should take a chance. This will never happen again.

"Sure." I say and Bailey lean down kissed me.

"Yay!" Ricky said clapping.

We all looked up as Andrew and Peter came back into the room and I noticed Peter adjust just sweater to hide a mark.

"Is everyone cool now?" Andrew asked looking at Colin.

"Yeah yeah, whatever." Colin said looking away.

"Yay now we're all friends again." Ricky said.

"Can we get back to the discussion?" Aiden said. I lay my head on her arm and close my eyes.

"I think we should go with Colin's idea. Yes that bastard murdered Owen and yes he deserves to pay but we should save innocent lives plus there could be more on our territory. So how about we drop him somewhere and have somebody follow him. Then when he leads to the rest of his group we'll take them down." Bailey suggested.

"I guess that could work but shouldn't we wait for Harry he said he was going to be back tomorrow." Colin said.

"But I don't think we should wait. The longer that guy is missing the more suspicious they'll get." Bailey said.

"Who's Harry?" I ask without opening my eyes.

"He's our clan leader. He found all of us and he turned Aiden, Colin and Ricky." Bailey explained.

I get up suddenly "I'm going to use the bathroom." I say and walk out of the living room. I glance back and see Andrew watching me with a blank face.

I walk down the hallway carefully listening at the doors. When I stop at one at near the end hallway, then check behind me. Seeing no one I opened the door and slipped through.

I walked down the dimly lit steps and when I entered the room, there was a man chained to the wall with nothing but his pants on. He was beaten and had multiple gashes that were healing slowly.

I walk towards him slowly and he looked up at me.

"Who are you? You blood smells nice." he rasped. I just stare at him blankly.

"Why don't you come a little closer so I can have a taste?" he said smiling.

"I knew you were going to kill him." I say and he immediately stopped smiling.

"I saw it, you know. I tried to save him. But I learned a long time ago that I couldn't." I say staring at him.

"Wha-what are you talking about.?" he rasped looking confused.

"Now what I wonder is, can vampires be killed?" I ask tilting my head.

"Yes we can die but it's very hard to kill us. What are you going to do to me little girl?" he taunted.

"I want to see if you will die." I say simply, "Now don't try to bite me, you want to know if you'll die right?"

He thought for a moment and nodded. I don't know why I was doing this, it was strange but at the same time exhilarating. I take a step towards him cautiously and when he didn't move I took another step towards him and gently touched my fingertips to his shoulder.

"You'll killed my best friend and then tried to get away with it. Well you won't." I watched as Adrian walked towards him and holding a knife. "I want to make you suffer and wish you were never made." he said and produced a lighter and set the man's clothes on fire, then stabbed him in the chest and then again in the head. I watched as the body burned up and all that was left was ashes. I pinched myself and when I opened my eyes I was staring directly into the vampire's eyes.

"Well?" he rasped.

"I didn't see anything." I say backing up.

"But you looked like you spaced out." he suspiciously.

"I was just trying to see if I could see anything that's all. Now there's one more thing I have to do." I say and covering my fist with my sleeve and then I punched him hard in the face.

"Ha. You think that could knock me out? I'm a vampire for god's sake." he rasped and started laughing. Then his head slumped down to chest.

I stared at him, he was going to die. Vampires could in fact die. That means Bailey could die. I can't lose her, not after I started to trust her.

I was jolted out of my thoughts when I was pushed hard against the wall.

"What the hell were you doing!?" Andrew said harshly, "You could've been killed."

"But I'm wasn't was I?"

"What are you even doing down here?" he asked.

"I needed to see something."

"You're such an idiot. Now let's go back upstairs before Bailey get really worried." Andrew said grabbing my shoulder and pushing me to the stairs.

"This is between us." I say pausing at the door.

"Yes."

We exit the room and went back to the living room.
