I think Rome and I broke up.
"Start explaining." I said, narrowing my eyes. Did I hear him right?
"We were talking about how less we were spending time with each other and it turned into an argument, he started talking about how he rushed into one relationship from another which made me mad and we said things about each other's profession which we didn't mean-"
"Seriously? You both had to stoop that low?" I interrupted.
"He said 'he's more famous than me anyway'!" He said, by his tone I could tell he was high-key offended.
"That's a fact, who asked you to start talking about popularity you dumbfuck?" I asked. He looked like he was ready to pounce anytime soon but was controlling himself because of his brother who was sitting beside me.
"How do you know I started that topic?" He asked in a low voice.
"Ofcourse you're Chase's brother, both of you are dumb as fuck!" I said.
"Excuse me?" Both of them said at the same time. Creeps.
"I'm adopted." Chase said, rolling his eyes, making us all go silent. I guess none of us were expecting him to say that, even Chase himself.
Caden cleared his throat. "Anyways." He started, clearing his throat once more, making it more dramatic. "He left the house two hours ago, I waited but he didn't come back. That's why I came here, to see if he visited you but.." He trailed off.
"I see..you stay here for tonight." I said, pointing my finger at him and taking out the car keys from Chase's pocket. "I'm going to see Rome." I said, giving them both a peace sign.
"How do you know where he is?" Caden asked.
"What am I to him?" I asked.
"His bestie?" He said or more like asked.
"Yeah, I know everything. Stop asking stupid questions, learn something from my boyfriend." I told him.
"She's rubbing salt into my wounds." He cried, jumping at Chase.
"Bye." I said, walking out. By the time I was inside the elevator, I realised I forgot my wearing shoes. I'm not going back.
Before going to Rome, I got us some burgers because when is not the occasion to have burgers?
After getting my order, I drove to the place we first met at. Looking at the bench, which wasn't empty like the first time I ever saw it. I realise how stupid I was to befriend an unknown man at that time of the night, I even let him walk me to my house but I guess atleast for once my stupidity got me something good right?
"It's a man, isn't it?" I asked, making him chuckle. Those were the first words he said to me, on this same bench. Look how tables have turned.
"How'd you know?" He asked, recreating the original conversation.
"Wild guess." I bumped my shoulder with his. "Whoever he is, you both deserve each other so much. These petty fights happen, doesn't mean you have to walk out." I said.
"I did it for the dramatic effect, I was going back then this ego came in between." He replied, looking down. "God knows how sorry I am." He said.
"That doesn't matter, God isn't going to magically let Caden know. Tell that to Caden, how sorry you are. You both need to apologise." I pointed out.
"I told him that our relationship was a mistake." He said, choking up. I can only wonder how hurt Caden was that he didn't want to repeat that sentence out aloud when he was telling us about the argument.
"That's.." I couldn't find the correct words to reply, but instead of that, I pulled him in a hug. He sniffled. "If there's any snot on my top or shoulder, you're buying me a new one." I warned him.
"I'll buy you two." He said, laughing while crying.
"Cool, you can carry on." I said.
"Let me cry properly!" He said, wiping his tears on my shoulder. Okay, he's definitely buying me another.
"You shouldn't have said shit, crying won't help." I rolled my eyes.
"It will give me good skin." He said.
"Shut up and start explaining. I need to know the story from both sides." I said, pulling him back.
"I had a game and he didn't come. He told me he would come, I was looking for him in the stands the whole time. When I went home he told me he had an urgent shoot, I mean..they inform a day or two prior right? I have done shoots too, we were talking about that. It turned into an argument. He started defending himself that it was important or it was just one game, there's more in the future and all. I know he was right, it was just one game but I was going to introduce him to my teammates." He sighed.
I nodded at him to continue. "I said modelling was shit and..things. I shouldn't have Celeste, I said so many mean things to him, he didn't even say something about my profession. After every bad word I said about his profession he just said he's atleast famous and I called him out on that too. I feel horrible Cel." He said, I know he is more wrong than Caden in all this but I can't see him like this.
"Okay, you need to stop crying now. It's not helping. Eat these burgers and then we're going back home and you are going to apologise and lastly, you have alot of making up to do. Your boyfriend crashed my date because of your childishness, you better make up for that." I said, handing him the burgers and wiping his face from my sleeves.
"I knew I befriended you for a reason." He said, after finishing the burgers and a bottle of water.
"Shut up. You hurt my bro, you're not my favorite right now, I might punch you." I replied, getting up and walking to my car.
"I'm sorry." He sighed as he followed me. "Can we stop at a convenience store? He likes those gluten-free candies." He muttered. I hummed in response.
After buying the candies and some more shit because we were already there so why not buy some things? As he said, we went back home.
We walked inside, Rome was behind me. Chase was caressing Caden's hair as he slept with his head on his lap. As he saw Rome walking behind me, he stood up carefully before marching towards us and punched Rome square on the jaw.
"You've got some nerve coming here after hurting my brother." He said before landing another punch. I think that's enough and with the way his jaw is clenched, I'm afraid he might break a tooth or two. He looks hot but that shouldn't be my main focus now. But it is.
"Hey, hey, that's enough." I said, touching his arm. He stopped his fist mid air before pushing Rome away.
"Fucking asshole." He said, glaring at him.
During all this, Caden woke up. He refused to meet Rome's eye. "I'm sorry." Rome said, to no-one in particular.
"I'm so sorry Caden." He said, looking at Caden who wasn't ready to look at him.
I nudged Chase, he was still looking at Rome with a hard look on his face. I touched his jaw, turning his face towards me. "Let them talk, c'mon." I said, trying to pull him away but he didn't move. "Chase, they need space." I said. It rhymes!
"Start walking before I hurt you." I said when he still didn't move. This time he actually listened.
"I got you sour candies." I said, pulling out the small pack from my pocket once we entered our room. He kept it aside, and lay down on the bed. "I'll change." I said, walking inside the closet.
I turned the lights off on the balcony before joining him on the bed. "It was the best date I ever had." I told him as I looked up at him, resting my chin on his chest.
"I'm sorry Caden-"
"Shush. It was the best. End of discussion."
He didn't say anything for a while. "If we ever have an argument, don't walk out on me please." He said, gulping.
"I promise, I won't." I replied, kissing his chest. "Don't worry about it, I'm not leaving that jacuzzi over an argument, duh." I blew out some air for some dramatic effect. "Now go and check what they're doing. They could be having sex on your sofa, if I'm not getting any, he won't either." I said, getting off of Chase.
"Gooo!" I said when he didn't get up.
"Fine." He grumbled, walking out.

After Caden and Rome sought themselves out, they stayed the night, Chase was still mad at Rome. It was obvious because during breakfast, he was constantly giving him the stink eye.
"Celly?" I heard a familiar voice calling me as I walked out of the cafe.
"Lucas." I said, looking at Luke as he was walking in the cafe.
"Did I do something? You blocked my number." He said, making me laugh. Did he do something he asked?
"Where's your girlfriend?" I asked.
"We broke up." He frowned.
"You weren't saying that last week." I reminded him.
"Last week? Oh. I didn't..I was drunk. We slept together..it was for the last time. I know a bad mistake, but I promise I'm not getting back with her." He said.
"This is so confusing, were you drunk texting me then? Don't answer that, I do not care. You hurt me." I said, trying to walk away but he held my arm.
"Show me the texts." He said.
"What? You have your phone. Read them." I said, pulling my arm away from his grip.
"I never texted you that day, it was Malea. Our last conversation is about Harry Styles and you freaking out. There's no other texts." He said, showing me his phone. I handed him my phone.
"You seriously think I'll call you Celeste? While texting? You think I'll type that big ass name?" He asked.
"That's such a minor detail." I exclaimed.
"I'm so offended reading this. I never text like this!" He said, giving my phone back to me.
"Apologise." I said.
"Why? It's not even my mistake!" He said, frowning.
"It took you a week to contact me bitch and that too by mistake!" I said, throwing my hands up in the air.
"Fine, I'm sorry." He said.
"It's not okay but anyways I have to be somewhere. See you soon." I said, rushing to my car. I looked at him as I was driving through, he rolled his eyes before walking inside the cafe.
Deciding alot of times if I should just go back or not, I finally rang the bell. I wasn't expecting the place to be this extravagant. I was lost in my own thoughts when the door opened.
"Hello mother."
"How are you? I've missed you." She said with a smile. Can she stop acting like she's my mom?
"Cut the shit. What do you want now?" I asked.
"Come inside." She said, her smile not wavering. She looks sober.
"Whose place is this?" I asked, following her inside.
"My husband." She said.
"You got married, congratulations." I said, not really ecstatic at all. Where was she when I wanted a mother?
"I wanted to talk."
"Start talking then."
"Stop acting like I forced you to come here. You could've said know, deep down you know that I'm still your mother." She said, taking a seat.
"Unfortunately. I wish you never existed in my life. I wish you left me at the hospital or some orphanage, I wish you aborted me-"
"Watch your mouth young lady." A masculine voice interrupted me. I turned to look at a middle aged man, standing behind me. He looked..classy. He was wearing a white button-down with black trousers. His brown hair was perfectly combed back, his blue eyes looking at me with a blank expression.
"So this is your husband, does he know about you at all? Is he aware that he can't trust you? Don't trust this lady, you won't know when she steals your money-"
"That's my wife you're talking to." He cut me off again.
"Vaughn. Celeste. Enough." Mother interrupted. So his name is Vaughn. Then she turned to me. "Sit down. We need to talk."
