.Elementals.
I stared off at the town from my spot on the elm, it has been two years and yet the hurt is still new, not faded even one bit, there still are parts of the queendom in pieces.
The elm I am sitting on isn't my parents one as per se but one I grew from the single seed they gave me, it didn't really surprise me that the bark grew silver and the leaves red, singing a song of love and adoration that almost made me cry as I knew it was from my parents, I grew it where the old elm once stood.
Us mages took the old elm's wood and it was enough to rebuild all of our town and homes here in the castle so technically wherever I go my parents are there with me.
I was pleased to learn many of those I cared for survived that weren't my family: Betelwan, the one guard that now indeed is courting Calypso, Arial, tho injured, made it out, even Nix, the crafty little bugger, no one knows where she was or what she did but she came back two weeks after I woke up.
Two months after I woke up it was announced to the public what my bloodline was with visual proof and as I had mentioned to the queen of dragons before we first left to fight my long gone uncle, I had agreed to take the title of queen as it was rightfully my own but that was kept secret like my real name, both secrets only my family knows, so I was just head mage Mystery to most even tho some found it weird I wasn't queen as a silver dragon.... Even tho I was but we weren't about to correct them after all.
It was hard to heal from this attack, the burns forever etched into my skin and it took some times to stop feeling a weird tingle when I was using my magic.
The halfmen and humans had had a rocky start in their relationship but we made do, Ethan being the man for the job, keeping the title I had given him and wearing it with honor I would have never known he had if I hadn't beaten him up.
He and many others spent days on end trying to keep criminals from getting out of hand.
The many that died that days were each buried in a grave and the day was declared at a mourning day to honor their death, like the elf man that was called Bardon that tried to help me against my uncle and accidentally taught me lightning redirecting.
Talking about those magic skills, I trained with them and now they've turned even more lethal, I could cast my blood magic upon someone and control their body or I could walk with my eyes closed and see the world clearly if I was bear foot, feeling the constant ripple in the wild magic.
Em had helped my train those and he suffered some horrifying injuries when I was first trying to do the blood magic but he insisted on being the one to help and I soon did get better.
That man.... He was away from the castle with the prince, Eleric and him were away on a long trip around the world to visit many places neither have seen since their honeymoon, they had already been gone for months and I missed them but who was I to stop them?
I sighed, enough time wasted thinking of the past.
I hopped down my new elm, landing softly as it set me down, my magic having grown it even higher then my parent's elm but it was still really young, two years, coming on three.
"What are you doing you are going to be late!" Belladonna chewed me off.
"Calm down I am here now." I tried to calm her.
"We are so lucky you didn't need to dress differently." She said, handing together as if she was praying.
"Hey Belladonna don't worry, I made sure to not dirty myself." I said.
"I still can't believe how much you've grown, I am proud to have been the one to raise you."
"And I'll keep making you proud." We shared a smile before she pushed the doors open and I sighed, slightly nervous but not too much.
Many people were gathered as I walked in.
I smiled at each and was pleasantly surprised at the face of my brother, Em you cheeky man I should have known you'd have dragged your ass back here for today.
I was almost amused that Audrey's younger siblings seemed the most energetic ones and my siblings were calm and cool like how we were taught to be.
I flicked my finger passing by Lin, the little girl I saved, and snuffed out the flame she was playing with, she pouted at me while I softly smiled and left Em to deal with her as he already took action.
I stopped by Audrey and she sent me a look.
"You are almost late." She whispered.
"Almost, I'd never be late for the big day." I whispered back, she was in a forest green dress with even lighter green lace and a veil.
I was never the best at emotions as I kept saying to her so she was the one that had proposed to me despite it being me that should have done so and so I kind of let her lead the way so just two weeks after we've been fiancees we are already having a marriage ceremony despite her mother's slight worry as too what would make her want to tie the knot so fast but after ensuring her nothing was up she dropped it.
I didn't listen to the priest as he started talking, eyes focused on Audrey with a smile etched on my face, I knew she felt my gaze but tried so hard to look at the priest but turned her eye too me, she smiled with a small blush before looking back, my face tinting itself too slightly as I finally look at the man.
"-- and now for the vows."
"Mystery, I promise I'll be forever by your side, in good and bad days. For as long as we live that shall stay true. You are my one and only and always have been." Short and sweet, like she usually is.
"The first day we met I promised you I'd die before anything happens to you and that promise shall never be forgotten, I'll protect you forever I love you too much to let anything come between us." I didn't have much to say that wasn't already said many times along the years, she knew how much she meant to me and I know how much I meant to her, feeling the simple smooth golden ring with a small purple gem around my ring finger and seeing the silver one with a small red gem around her was enough of a proof.
"If someone opposes this union speak up now or remain forever silenced."
I was amused seeing Lin almost sneezed before Em covered her mouth to muffle the sound before concentrating back on the things at hand.
"In that case the gr-bride can kiss the bride." I was even more amused by the slight confusion on his face as I clearly remember him taking me for a guy.
But that wasn't important, I used a gentle gust of air to flip the veil up.
I laid a hand on Audrey's cheek and pulled her in a kiss.
All the happy claps where drowned out in moment.
I leaned back with a big smile and leaned my forehead against hers, staring deep in her purple eyes with my red dragon ones.
"So what big secret you had? I remember you promised one secret revealed under the elm all those years ago." I gently chuckled.
"Well you already know my real name so I'll answer the other one, the one about how strong I actually am."
"Oh do tell me."
"Well Audrey.... I don't know." She looked shocked before chuckling softly.
"Oh really?"
"I really don't know, I never ran out of magic no mater what I did until you did you trick. While the others can exhaust theirs I cannot so I don't know."
"Even now I discover things about you." She said with an adoring look in her eyes and her hands on my face, dragging me into another kiss.
It seems not only fairy tales have happy endings.
------------------------------------------------------
So to start off.... I don't know about weddings I am only 18 so I wrote Mystery's wedding how I see most going down in movies and such.
And I feel so happy with this story, it is one of my favorite worlds I built with a complex lore I made work somehow, I love this world so you'll be happy to know I already thought up a plot for a sequel to this one, there will be a book posted in the next few days, maybe even tomorrow, with the title 'Dragon's Legacy' that will star a very special little girl, there is also 'Eyes of void'Â tho it is exactly this story again but from Audrey's pov.
But yeah this, Mystery's story, has come to an end, the world has been saved and she found happiness and I hope all of you did too, going through her story with her, I hope you got to live as part of this world with her and experience it and now that it has ended you are happy like she is and all I have left to say is.
Thank you.
I will say this every time I finish and book and can't be stopped but thank you, for every one, the reader that read one page, the reader the left one star, the reader that accidentally clicked on the story, the reader that read through it all, the reader that commented and the reader that said nothing.... no matter what reader you are you matter to me, without you I would have never been able to finish this so thank you, thank you for giving me the motivation to write this great book for you.
Have a great day or night and good reading on.
