.Elementals.
(I don't know why but I see this song as Mystery's theme song)
As the elves had said I was perfectly fine by morning, just scars remaining.
It was announced the fewer fights they were the more spaced out they'd be over the course of the day but mine would always be the first it seems.
I left my staff behind today too, going with my two blades.
I just realized how lucky I got that my opponents sword got caught on my sword guard because it was so unusually small.
Today my fight was against a lady elf which was worst than if if would have been a man since even us human women are more flexible and agile when it comes down to it so what could it be for an elf?
"I did not know that man but I feel like I need to apologize for his words to your family." Elves are the politest of races aren't they.
(like wearing this for those that care for how they look and the usual typical elf trait.)
"I appreciate it." I said with a small bow, I'd most likely would have done the same if my opponent was insulted beforehand.
"Let the better win." She said with a deep bow. I furred my brows, this low she acknowledged me being better then her.
"Let." I said as the gong was stuck.
I launched myself up with a blast of air under my feet into one of my many loved spins as the blast was stronger under one of my feet.
Right heel crashing with her forearm, I snapped my left leg over while spinning my body and caught the side of her head before a powerful water jet had time to strike me in the chest.
My hands touched ground before anything did, scrapping against the ground to keep myself from falling on my head and my feet finally came down.
I stayed crouching, rubbing my chest and glaring at my feet that were resting on the outer edge of the ring.
Since wild magic can do what elemental can and more but requires far greater control her sending me back this far this easily wasn't good.
I threw myself in the air with another blast of air to avoid the water jet, kicking my feet out, one forwards and the other back before snapping them to the opposite position to send half a circle of fire off of my feet, crossing and uncrossing my arms to do the same but in an X.
My right leg was bent and my left straight, the second it touched the ground I blasted flames from my right one and sent me at the elf, arm reeled back.
I punched a pure magic shield.
I planted my feet in the ground and opened my hand against the shield, fingers straining against it as if they were claws.
The elf dissolved the shield the moment it cracked under my hand and grabbed my arm, spinning to have her back against my front and trying to make me flip over her.
I pulled my arm to me and caught her arm with my feet as I passed over her, pulling us both down as she couldn't throw me.
I quickly wrapped my legs around her arm more stable and grabbed her wrist as I arched up to lock her arm in place and hooking a foot under her head.
I'd have threatened her with dislodging her arm if I would have gotten just a bit more time but the white hot fire in my thigh made me loosen my hold and let her slip away.
I stood up but crouched right away, looking at the blood on her small hand sized blade in my thigh, I too have a small hidden blade so why did I forget others could have them too?
I grunted as I yanked it out and grabbed my leg.
"It really is an honor silver dragon." She said.
I threw my hand out and let out a huge blast of fire, yet again destroying a glove but this time it was different.
The fire blew non stop at her, the people watching running from the side of the ring as the jet of flames was huge and hot, like almost 100 feet of pure fire spewing out of my hand.
I smirked when I stopped, the elf falling on her knees as it took a lot out of her.
"How?" She was awestruck as I flexed my perfectly fine hand.
"I gave myself a little bit of liberty." I said.
She clasped her hands together and muttered something before standing up and almost appearing in front of me, speed enchantment?
I gasped out as her fist met my stomach and a jet of water send me up in the air and I crashed on my back, the ground or my body cracked but I couldn't be able to tell which it was.
I pushed myself up and was kicked in the side, sent down.
I sat on my knees and bent over, my arm crossed, the back of my hands up by my ears making a magic shield over myself.
She just stopped for one second to send pressurized water at my shield or strike it with a longer blade before zipping away, never stopping long enough to let me riposte.
Each strike to the shield was harder to block but she fell into a rhythm and when I was sure she wasn't going to change it up I waited for her to strike with a blade to dissolve the shield, the blade missing my side by little and stabbed her own short knife I still had, right in her arm, since it was inclined I cut up the whole length of it and stabbed it into her elbow joint.
I didn't go on the attack, using the time given to me to think of something, she'll be this speedy anyway, I need to even the field.
I stood up and froze the ring over with a curve upwards on the sides, she controlled water so she wouldn't be bothered like most by this.
I ran at her and just planted my feet down flat when she dodged me, sliding up the curved side into the start of a back flip, hands aimed at her as fire spewed from them without melting my ice.
When I landed again I let a small burst of air out behind me right foot making me spin as I pulled my sword out and brought it down on her.
For the first time in this fight, blades clashing.
I used my magic to slide across the ice as easily as if I had ice skates but I didn't need them, striking her each time I passed near going all over and using this to its full advantage while despite her speed she had trouble.
I slid by behind her and she needed to bend her body to block my sword.
I need to get rid of that sword.... Got it.
I sparked my sword on fire and struck her blade again before moving away.
We exchanged hits until her sword broke, the heat of my blade and me always striking the same point even if it wasn't to my advantage weakened the blade.
I snuffed out the fire and rested it against her throat, sliding close enough to rest it on her skin but stopping before it could hurt her.
"I knew I didn't have much of a chance." I lowered my blade as she bowed her head, accepting this as defeat instead of being hurt more then she was. "I forfeit!" She yelled to make everyone hear it. "With my arm I won't be able to fight for much longer." It was bleeding way more then my thigh as I made a huge cut in it.
"Very well." I nodded, sheathing my sword and evaporating the ice as the fight was over but I felt numb and fell on my knees and she followed, crashing down. "What?"
"My blade was coated in temporarily soporific and paralyzing plants but somehow you lasted long enough for my own wound inflicted to act up."
"You'd have won with that." I smiled at the sky.
"Could have but I wasn't lucky enough."
"Maybe next time." I joked as my eyes closed.
"Who knows?"
"The gods." I hummed, falling asleep but still the winner.
