.Elementals.
(not my picture I left the instagram name in the picture but this just reminds me of sweet sassy Nix when she was a kitty XD like "hmmmmyes perfect.... now onwards human slave")
Dragged my hands down my face as I walked around outside in the huge gardens that stood between the building.
A hand rested on the side of my face as I sighed, my legs stalling each time I passed an elm, staring up at it, searching the usual height I knew off but none could even compare.
None of their leaves was the right shade.
None of their roots reached up and out of the ground.
None of their trunks was large.
I couldn't find anything to compare what I lost too.
I didn't acknowledge the drizzle that came from the torment inside, if it wanted to rain than it can rain!
I grabbed my chest over where I shoved the seed with a heavy frown, why do I keep loosing everyone?
"Aurelius." I hissed out, thunder crackling at the sound of his name, he caused everything with his jealousy.
The war that took my first parents.
The loss of my egg and not being born to them.
Because of that being taken for a simple mage and taken from my second parents and them dying because I wasn't around to help the village survive through the winter.
The loss of my first parents again with the death of the elm.
The loss of my home.
The lost of a third mother....
She took the hit for me, she didn't think and she just took the hit for me.... Why were you so stupid?.... And why was I so slow?...
If not for me she'd be here, oh my gods if not for me she'd be here!!
I took a deep breath and like shook myself out, the heavy rain starting turned to a light drizzle again.
Don't externalize your pain Mystery or whoever you are now.... Let is boil.... Let is simmer.... But don't let it overflow.... Save that pain and anger for the man that took from you, that took from everyone.
"I'll look for Audrey." I muttered, walking off in a direction to try to find a gardener to point me in the right direction, even if I don't know to deal with a lot of emotions she does know how to deal with me.
"Even here you can't use the doors can you?" I spent at least a slice of sun looking for someone to point me here.
"Can't do." I was sitting on an oak's branch that is brought up to raise me to her window and I knocked on it.
"Well come on in before you make a rain storm." She tried to joke awkwardly which made me smile, climbing through the small window with ease as I had none of what I owned still on my person.
"It would be a hail storm with thunder ripping through the air." I said, the room was just like mine, a simple bed with a wardrobe, chair, table with a mirror and a chest for what we owned. "You look nice with your hair let down." I told her.
"I prefer it braided up but I don't really like how it turns out when I do it."
"Sit down, I braided the one with the bead so I'll get it good, promise."
"I trust you." She sat on the chair and I combed my fingers through her hair to pull out the knots as I looked in her eyes through the mirror.
I discarded my bracers and gloves on the bed so my hands were left bare as I grabbed her locks gently.
"Then why isn't it storming?" She asked, I saw her looking at me through the mirror through the corner of my eye as I watched what I was doing, not wanting to mess up something.
"It shall not storm, brewing inside as it is aimed at what was once a man and now a monster of magic. He should be the only one to suffer what this storm has in store."
I felt her hand on my cheek making me flinch.
I grabbed her hand before she could pull it back, holding the beginning of her braid in one hand to keep it tightly done, I shifted my hand so my palm was on the back of hers and set it back on my face, keeping mine over hers.
"It doesn't hurt that much." I answered, feeling the question coming about the burn scar she set her hand over. "Not anymore, it will be all good in a few days."
"It will take long to forgive that mistake I made."
"For you to forgive yourself because I already did."
"I know, you are too forgiving."
"With those that matter yes."
"So.... Your name?"
"It was supposed to be a wedding gift." This made her laugh as I let her hand leave my cheek to go back to what I was doing. "The elm decided to spoil the surprise I suppose."
"Yes the elm, are you alright about that?"
"I keep it bottled up to let it explode in his distorted face."
"Right stupid question sorry."
"You can ask what you want, 'not asking a question will rob you from an answer' was what Belladonna always liked to say whenever we would back out on asking something because it was stupid."
"I am sorry about her." I sighed, my hands staling and resting gently against her head as I looked at her eyes through the mirror.
"I am sorry too." I said. "Like I'd give my life for you she chose to give hers for mine, my death would pain many but it wouldn't hurt your mother the queen like it did hers and I am sorry for that."
"Like you mages and my siblings we'll grow up and grow old together and both were alone, no sibling and one new mage."
"They sure had time to bond as friends."
"She was important."
"She sure was in many regards, she taught five capable mages, she was the queen's adviser and friend, she was the head mage, could stand at the head of an army if needed.... She was someone special."
"Don't worry he'll get what's coming for him, I still have the flower, the Wither whatever, still not close to besting the flower but I can still train."
"Oh I know he'll get what he deserves, I'll kill him before you get the time to say void."
"Mhm... So I know what you said but what should I call you?"
"Mystery is just fine, Arianwyn is a name I was born with but this name I gained and made mine and honestly I'd realize a stranger was talking to me easier if they spoke of Mystery and not Arianwyn."
"Shame, I like that name."
"And it fits." I glanced at myself before looking at my hands. "It mean woman of silver in ancient dragon.... I wouldn't mind you using it."
"Really?"
"I assure you but in private, already more people know than I had planned but at least I can trust their silence."
"So Arianwyn in private? Just you. And. Me~."
"What was that tone Audrey?"
"Oh nothing." she chuckled and I just shrugged.
"Well whatever you have in mind on my side I have finished."
"You are really good, I love it." I braided it from the little hair in front of her right ear and over her hairline to keep the hair from her eyes as it got loose and hung in her face even with a normal braid, I braided over her ear and to the back of her head where I braided all the rest up, tied with a white string at the end.
"I hoped you'd like it... What would you say about helping me look for the library?"
"Oh more research?"
"Something like that and finding someone I was told about."
"Well lets get moving." She stood, grabbing my arm and drag me from the room.
