Chapter 19

i belong to you

The sun had barely risen when Taehyung and Jungkook stood together at the edge of their balcony, gazing out over the sprawling city below. The morning air was crisp, the early light casting long shadows across the streets, a reminder of how much had changed in their lives. They had faced challenges, misunderstandings, and pain, but now, the horizon seemed to promise a new beginning.

For the first time in a long while, Taehyung felt a quiet sense of peace. Everything that had seemed impossible, all the obstacles in their path, had been overcome. He turned his head slightly, his eyes meeting Jungkook’s, who stood just a step behind him, his hands resting against the balcony rail.

“We’ve made it through, haven’t we?” Jungkook said softly, his voice carrying the weight of their shared journey. He wasn’t just speaking about the battles they had fought together but about their bond—how it had grown stronger with each passing day.

Taehyung’s lips curved into a faint smile. “We have,” he agreed, his voice steady. He took a deep breath, feeling the chill of the morning air filling his lungs. “I thought I had lost everything once. But now…” His gaze softened as he turned fully toward Jungkook. “I have everything I need.”

Jungkook met his eyes, a quiet understanding passing between them. They had been through their share of trials—Soojin’s manipulations, the weight of their pasts, and the uncertainty of their future. But through it all, their connection had remained steadfast. And now, there was only one thing that mattered.

“I’ve never felt this way before,” Jungkook murmured, taking a step closer. He reached for Taehyung’s hand, their fingers intertwining naturally. “You’re my everything, Taehyung.”

The words were simple, but they carried a depth of emotion that Taehyung couldn’t help but feel. He squeezed Jungkook’s hand gently, his thumb brushing over the back of his palm in a soft gesture of reassurance.

“You are to me too,” Taehyung said, his voice low, a hint of vulnerability in his tone that he rarely allowed others to hear. “You’ve changed my life in ways I never thought possible.”

Jungkook leaned in, his forehead resting against Taehyung’s. For a moment, the world outside seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them standing in the quiet of the morning. The bond they shared was unspoken yet undeniable—built on trust, affection, and the promise of something more.

As they stood there, wrapped in each other’s presence, the world felt like it was opening up to them. They had faced their demons and come out stronger, side by side. There was no more fear, no more uncertainty. Only the future waiting for them.

But life, as always, had its own way of throwing unexpected twists their way.

Just as they began to pull away, the sound of a knock at the door broke the quiet. Taehyung glanced over at Jungkook, his expression momentarily shifting into one of curiosity. He had hoped for a peaceful morning, but it seemed that the world wasn’t quite done with them yet.

“I’ll get it,” Jungkook said, giving Taehyung a reassuring smile before turning to walk toward the door.

Taehyung remained on the balcony, his gaze still distant, his thoughts drifting. He wasn’t sure what this new visitor meant, but he had learned not to fear the unexpected. He had Jungkook by his side, and together, there was nothing they couldn’t face.

Jungkook returned moments later, his face unreadable. “Taehyung,” he began, his voice steady but with an edge of concern. “It’s from the company. They need you for something important. It can’t wait.”

Taehyung raised an eyebrow, his mind already working through the possibilities. The company had been under his watch for years, but his priorities had shifted ever since Jungkook had come into his life. Still, he knew that business couldn’t always be ignored.

“Alright,” Taehyung said, straightening up and walking toward Jungkook. “Let’s see what they want. But we’ll handle it together.”

Jungkook nodded, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “Together,” he echoed, and for a moment, the weight of the world seemed a little lighter.

As they walked into the next room, the door closed behind them, leaving the peaceful morning behind. But they were ready. Whatever the day would bring, they were in it together. And that was all that mattered.

Taehyung had learned something over the past few months: that love was not just about the moments of happiness but about facing everything—good and bad—side by side. With Jungkook, he had found a new strength, one that would carry them through whatever came next.

And as they faced the unknown, there was no fear, only the certainty that they would always be there for each other, no matter what.
