Chapter 3: Setting the Stage
i belong to you
Taeko spent the next day observing Jungkook and Taehyung from the sidelines, carefully planning his next move. He had to create situations where his parents would naturally interact and begin to understand each other beyond their surface impressions.
In the crowded cafeteria, Taeko spotted Jungkook sitting alone at a table, eating quietly while reading a book. Across the room, Taehyung was surrounded by a group of friends, gesturing animatedly as he discussed a new design idea.
Taeko smirked to himself. âTime to set the stage.â

Later That Day â The Library
Jungkook sat at his usual corner table, a mountain of books spread out in front of him. His sharp gaze moved from one page to the next, completely absorbed in his studies.
Taeko entered the library with Taehyung in tow, chatting away about fashion trends.
âHonestly, Taeko,â Taehyung said, adjusting the bag slung over his shoulder, âI donât know how you convinced me to come to the library. Itâs not exactly my scene.â
âYouâll survive,â Taeko replied with a grin. He subtly guided Taehyung toward Jungkookâs table. âBesides, I think youâll find this place more interesting than you expect.â
Taehyung rolled his eyes but froze when he saw Jungkook.
âJeon Jungkook?â Taehyung muttered under his breath, his brows furrowing slightly.
Jungkook glanced up, his expression hardening the moment he saw Taehyung. âKim Taehyung,â he said curtly, his tone as cold as ever.
âWell, if it isnât the Ice King,â Taehyung quipped, crossing his arms. âWhat brings you here? Plotting world domination or just brooding in solitude?â
Jungkook sighed, clearly annoyed. âSome of us take our studies seriously, Taehyung. You wouldnât understand.â
Taehyung raised an eyebrow. âOh, please. Just because I donât bury myself in textbooks doesnât mean Iâm not serious about my work.â
Taeko quickly jumped in, feigning innocence. âYou two know each other? Thatâs perfect! You can work together.â
âWork together?â Jungkook and Taehyung said in unison, both looking at Taeko in confusion.
âYes!â Taeko beamed. âI heard the school is hosting a charity event, and theyâre looking for someone to plan it. With your brains, Jungkook, and Taehyungâs creativity, youâd make an amazing team.â
Jungkookâs eyes narrowed. âIâm not interested.â
âNeither am I,â Taehyung added, crossing his arms.
Taeko gave them a pleading look. âCome on, itâll be fun! And itâs for a good cause.â
Jungkook sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of his nose. âFine. If it shuts you up, Iâll do it.â
Taehyung smirked. âWell, if Mr. Perfectionist is in, I suppose I can grace this project with my talent.â
Taeko clapped his hands together, a triumphant smile on his face. âGreat! This is going to be amazing.â

That Evening â Taekoâs Room
Sitting on his bed, Taeko scribbled notes in a small notebook, brainstorming ways to bring his parents closer.
âStep one: Force them to spend time together,â he muttered to himself. âStep two: Make Jungkook see Taehyungâs good side. Step threeâ¦â
He paused, staring out the window at the starry sky. âStep three: Stop Dad from falling for Soojin.â
Taeko sighed, his determination hardening. âIâll make sure they end up together. No matter what it takes.â
