Author's POV
Salaar had left more of an impact than he could imagine on the Siddiqui family. Zara was internally shaken but there was still a part of her that thought this might be it and maybe he would not do anything stupid but it was Salaar Hussain Sikander we were talking about.
She couldn't quite do anything, they did try to contact the police but the results of that weren't the best. The Siddiqui's also didn't know what Salaar actually did. Being a normal CEO does not explain him being immune to the police.
They had a feeling he was someone much more influential but had no idea who. Adeel tried asking his colleagues at the hospital who might know about Hussain group which was a major shareholder of the hospital but everyone was clueless. (A/N: fyi i don't know if hospitals have shareholders or not lol. Its so funny how I literally expose myself ðð)
It was now the next working day and Zara had to go to the hospital. Her family did try to stop her from going, they didn't want any harm coming her way. Especially after they knew that Salaar was the major shareholder of the hospital, they were skeptical of how things might go for her.
Zara just assured them and said that she couldn't stay home. She had a busy schedule today with 3 surgeries back to back. She left with Adeel who had told her to call him if anything happened right before she exited the car.
Zara stepped foot into the hospital and immediately went towards the elevator to reach her floor. She met with one of her co-workers, Shazia. "Hii Zara, tumhari tabiyat theek he?" She asked, concerned about her health. (Are you ok?)
"Han men bilkul theek hoon." Zara just numbly replied without any energy. Shazia looked at her warily and asked again, "Are you sure?" (Yes, I am ok.)
"Han, bilkul theek hoon." Zara said again with a more convincing smile. "Aj ka schedule bohut packed he so I have to go." She continued, to which Shazia gave an agreeing hum. (Yes, I am completely fine.) (Today's schedule is very packed so I have to go.)
Zara then walked out and met with the anesthesiologist to discuss the first surgery of the day. Once the anesthesiologist gave the go ahead, Zara immediately began surgery.
During the surgery, her mind went back to Salaar and her hand couldn't help but shake. The nurses assisting her asked if she was alright to which she could only hum. (A/N: Fun fact- I heard surgeons and operating room nurses listen to songs while operating which is kind of slay yet very unsettling ðð like I don't want to wake up in the middle of my surgery and hear chikni chameli playing.)
After the first 2 surgeries were done, she went to her office to have a break. Her last surgery had quite some time left and she desperately needed something to eat after the tiring hours of her standing.
She was enjoying her sandwich when the telephone in her office started ringing loudly. She finished chewing and picked up the phone, keeping it to her ear. "Doctor Zara. Please report to the director's office." The voice of a young lady rang through the telephone.
The director of the hospital was an old lady who was pretty strict and Zara had wished more than once for her to already retire. She put the phone down and grabbed her coat to give the old hag a visit.
When Zara reached the top floor (The director's office), the secretary pointed to a door for her to go to. She stood in front of the door and breathed in. She knocked twice and went in.
It was like 7 years ago once again. Going into the dean's office but seeing someone she would never think she would, Salaar. Salaar sat on the director's chair and the actual person who she was supposed to meet was nowhere in sight just like 7 years ago.
Zara went still for a moment, a shiver running down her spine as she looked directly in his dark eyes. In an instant, Salaar was on his feet. He strode to her and she craned her neck to look at him. His hand raised and gently touched her hair as if caressing it.
Zara stepped backwards leaving his hand hanging in the air. He just cleared his throat and dropped his hand. "Idhr kia kar rahe ho?" Zara asked as she gazed out to the view from the huge window. (What are you doing here?)
"Aapki yaad aa rahi thi meri jaan." Salaar said with a smirk. Zara couldn't help but heat up by the remark. He again started walking towards the main desk. (I was missing you my love)
"Ye hospital mera he." Salaar said when he didn't hear Zara say anything. A look of surprise crossed her face but she quickly returned it to her normal unfazed look. (This hospital is mine.)
"Mujhe kisi waja se hi bulaya he, to batao kya baat he?" Zara asked as she crossed her arms, waiting for him to speak. She was trying to act strong, being weak will not help her get rid of him so she could at least try to be strong. (You must've called me for a reason, so what is it?)
"Well I'm sure ke ab tak apko idea ho gaya hoga ke men apka mehram banna chahta hoon. Mere nikkah mein aa jayo aur mein aapko is hospital ka director bana doon ga." Salaar said. He thought of approaching this by a business deal like the way he did for the past 7 years. (Well I'm sure that you have an idea by now that I want to marry you. So marry me and I will make you director of this office.)
Zara thought about it for a good minute. Being a director would surely come with its perks. She had been looking for a higher position for the longest time but did she really want her marriage like this.
"Aur agar mene na kardiya toh?" Zara said in a low voice. She had already decided on her choice but she had to know his limits. (And what if I say no?)
"I'll fire you and Adeel." Salaar said with a dark look in his eyes. His voice was raspy. Thinking about rejection from Zara didn't sit right with him. Despite the message being clear from Zara's side, he was very persistent.
"This is between me and you. Don't involve Adeel bhai." Zara couldn't hide the fear in her voice. She didn't want her brother to suffer because of what she did. He already suffered a bullet wound 7 years ago.
"That's right. It is between you and me but you see, meri jaan, you are a very resilient person so I cannot help but drag poor Adeel in this." Salaar had found leverage on her. He knew this was not what he should've done but he didn't care at this point, he had done much worse.
"Why...why are you doing this to me?" Zara asked, her voice cracking. Her eyes started to fill with tears.
Salaar walked towards her and stopped right in front of her. Salaar cupped her face. "Because I love you. You were mine from the moment you smiled at me in that damned university's hallway."
The intensity of the words shook Zara to her core. She felt shivers running down her spine from the intense look in his eyes. She harshly threw his hands that were cupping her face. "I WAS NEVER YOURS. I AM NOT MARRYING YOU." Zara shouted, backing away from him.
Tears running down her eyes. She turned around and ran away from Salaar, the devil haunting her life. Salaar sadly smiled, watching her run away from him. He didn't want to do what he was about to do next but this was the last straw of patience which Zara so graciously blew away.
Salaar called Mikael, "Mikael, molvi ka intazam karo." (Mikael, get a molvi ready.)
__________________________
Zara ran towards the nearest lavatory and entered a stall while balling her eyes out. Her hands were shaking, her emotions were scattered around. She was feeling as if the whole world was against her.
She had to get control of herself. There was another surgery in a few minutes that was not going to perform itself. Her eyes were red from crying and rage. She washed her face a couple of times and went straight to her office.
She decided to go home immediately after the surgery. She went over everything with the anesthesiologist and got ready for the surgery. After about an hour, the surgery was completed and it was successful. They informed the family and got on with their day.
Zara was packing up her stuff to go home when she decided to call Adeel. "Assalamualaikum bhai.".
"Walaikumassalam Zara. Sab theek hai na?" Adeel asked quickly, fearing the worst for his sister. (Is everything ok?)
"Jee, sab theek hai. Mera schedule clear ho gaya hai to aap mujhe ghar chor aye ge?" Zara asked, not wanting to talk about her encounter with Salaar. (Yes, everything is ok. My schedule has been cleared so can you drop me home?)
"Acha, mein chor deta hoon. Can you wait 20 minutes? I have to wrap up a few things. You can come to the physio block if you want." Adeel offered. (Ok, I can drop you.)
"Ok theek he. I'll stay in my office. Just call me once you're done." Zara said, now wanting to get out of the comfort of her office.
Those 20 minutes turned into a whole hour when Adeel finally called Zara so he could drop her. They met in the parking lot. By the time they were going home, it was already pretty dark. Just like before, Zara saw a car following her.
She pointed it out to Adeel this time, he changed their route and lost the car but the chilling feeling was still there. Was it Salaar again? But then again, he already knows where they live so why would he follow them?
Shrugging all thoughts, Zara cleared her mind till they reached their home. Zara was about to exit the car when her phone rang. She told Adeel to go in first so she could attend the call.
She accepted it and put it against her ear. "Hello Assalamualaikum." (A/N: I feel like if you're Pakistani or even Muslim you've said this atleast once.)
She was met with nothing but silence. "Hello. Who is this?" She said but received no answer.
"Watch your back." A very strange voice said from the other end.
"Who is this?" She said again. "Hello?" On receiving no answer she ended up cutting the call, getting annoyed.
"Assalamualaikum" She walked towards the front of the door and stilled as soon as her eyes met with the scene in front of her. Her whole family was held at gunpoint with Salaar sitting in the middle on a single couch very casually.
Her eyes bulged seeing this. All the guys were dressed in fine black and white suits while Salaar was dressed in a full black suit, his gun in front of him. She recognized Rayan and Mikael among the men. Her eyes went to her older brother, Ahsan. His eye was busted very badly.
"Waalaikumsalam meri jaan. It's so nice to see you." Salaar said as he stood up, straightening his suit. Zara's wide eyes met his.
"Mama! Baba!" Zara tried rushing to them but Salaar was quick to hold, avoiding her from going to them.
"Not so fast." Salaar said as he removed the small hair strands sticking to her behind her ear.
"Ye sab kia he Salaar." Zara asked as she jerked away from him, creating some decent distance between them. (What is all this Salaar?)
"Mene pehle hi kaha tha, your words will decide my actions." Salaar said as he gazed into her eyes that were filled with fear. (I already told you, your words will decide my actions.)
"Salaar-" Zara was cut off by Salaar.
"Apke honton se apna naam sun kar aik alag sukoon milta he." Salaar said as his thumb grazed her lips. (Hearing my name from your lips gives me a different type of peace.)
"APNE HATH APNE PAAS RAKHO HARAMKHOR." Mr. Siddiqui yelled at Salaar. The guy holding him smashed his gun on Mr. Siddiqui's head, making him fall. Salaar glared at the guy who hit Mr. Siddiqui till he backed up. Zara tried running towards her father but was held back by Salaar's arms caging her. (KEEP YOUR HANDS TO YOURSELF BASTARD.)
"BABAA'' Zara yelled, as tears spilled from her eyes. She started hitting Salaar's chest to let her go. Salaar just pressed her close to him, his twisted brain liking the feel of her so close.
Adeel and Ahsan tried moving towards their father but were hit by the guys holding them. Adeel's forehead started bleeding but he didn't let it show. Ahsan was getting roughed up as well.
"Shhhh, it's ok." Salaar said, trying to calm her hyperventilating self. "Take deep breaths."
"Salaar, baba is not moving. Please....please help him. I beg you." Zara slid down, her tears glistening on her face and Salaar followed. "Please...please I'll do anything. I'll marry you. Please just help baba." Zara said in a desperate voice.
Salaar pushed back her hair from her face. "Will you marry me?" He repeated with a shock in his voice.
Zara looked back at her family, she saw her mother crying while her brother's were looking at her with denial in their eyes. "Yes, but please leave my family. Help baba."
"Very well." Salaar motioned his men to help the family. The Siddiqui family was escorted in a different room where their wounds were treated.
Zara tried following them but Salaar motioned for her to go upstairs. "Ye kia ho raha he? Men ooper kion jaa rahi hoon?" Zara asked Salaar. (What is happening? Why am I being taken upstairs?)
"Hamare nikkah ke liye tum tayar hone jaa rahi ho." Salaar replied, looking at her with such adoration that it was frightening. (You're getting ready for our Nikkah)
Before she could object a group of girls escorted her up. They had a huge bag in her hand with various small ones that looked like makeup bags. She was brought to her bedroom where they started working on her.
She took a shower first, then got dressed and last the artists did their job. Once she was done, she looked at herself in the mirror. She looked gorgeous. She looked like an actual bride, a very ill-fated one.
It was as if the lavishness of the jewelry and dress was mocking her. Screaming at her that she still ended up with him.
Mr. and Mrs. Siddiqui came into the room when she was busy mulling over her ill fate. They saw and sadly smiled. Mrs. Siddiqui immediately hugged her daughter.
"Humein maaf kar dena Zara. Hum kuch bhi nahi kar paye tumhare liye. Baap hone ke bawajood bhi mein Kuch bhi nahi kar paya tumhare ke liye." Mr. Siddiqui said. He looked at Zara with eyes filled with sadness. (Please forgive us Zara. We couldn't do anything for you. Despite being a father, I wasn't able to help you.)
"Ye aap kesi baatein kar rahe hain baba. Apne mere liye itna Kuch kiya hai ke mein kabhi bhi bhool na paon gi." Zara said, her voice wavering. (What are you talking about Dad? You have done so much for me that I will never be able to forget.)
"Apna khyaal rakhna Zara." Mrs. Siddiqui said as she kissed her daughter lovingly while crying her eyes out.
They heard a knock on the door and Adeel, Ahsan and her sister-in-law came in to meet her. Mr. and Mrs. Siddiqui exited the room to give space to them. Zara looked at Adeel with sad eyes and her lip wobbling.
She immediately rushed and hugged Adeel who just patted her back. The waterfall she was trying to hold back started flowing. "I...I don't want to marry him bhai." Zara started shaking from crying so hard.
Adeel slowly started patting her back, trying to comfort her. He knew, no amount of words will be enough to undo what has been done. "I wish I could help you Zara." Adeel blinked his eyes to get rid of the tears in his eyes.
Ahsan and his wife were slowly patting Zara's back as well, wishing that the pats could give her some comfort. "Bhai, men bhaag jati hoon." Zara said suddenly, pulling away from their hold. (Bro, I should run away.)
Adeel's lips titled up a little but that sad look in his eyes was still present. "Uske aadmi poore ghar ke ird gird khare hen." Adeel said, watching the hope from his sister's eyes being crushed. (His men are surrounding the house.)
"Oh." Zara said quietly. They stayed silent for a few minutes when someone once again knocked on her room's door. Unlike family members, this person didn't barge in. Ahsan went and opened the door to see Huzaifa standing outside.
"Molvi aa gaya he." He said solemnly. Ahsan just nodded and said they will be down in a few minutes. (The molvi is here.) (A/N: Molvi-someone who does the Nikkah.)
Zara's bhabhi helped her wipe her tears and they finally descended the stairs to the lounge area. There she saw a molvi sitting on one of the couches while Salaar and his parents sat on another. There was an empty spot between Mr. and Mrs. Siddiqui and Zara assumed that was where she was going to be seated.
She sat between them and the molvi started the ceremony.
(A/N: So this is what I thought. The first one was the actual dress with a ghoongat but the second one is a more accurate representation of Zara. For the dude, the picture pretty much represents it but with a coat.)
__________________________
As soon as Zara was taken upstairs, Salaar started arranging everything. He knew what he did was wrong and it was forceful but this was the only way she could be his. He had already bought her dress beforehand because he knew it would come in handy one day.
Mikael gave the molvi a call while Salaar called Huzaifa to bring mom and dad here. Zara was finally going to be his. He will have every right on her just like she would have every right on him.
He went to give the Siddiquis a visit where they were getting their wounds addressed. "Salaam mere sasural waalo." Salaar said in a light tone. The Siddiqui's looked as if it was someone's funeral and not their daughter's wedding. (Hello my in-laws.)
"Aaj jo bhi howa he, men us ke liye mazrat karna chahta hoon. Lekin men Zara ke bagher nahi reh sakta isi liye jo kiya wo karna zaroori tha." Salaar said in a serious voice, expressing himself. (I would like you to excuse me for all that has happened today. But I cannot live without Zara so what I did was necessary.)
"Hamare liye bas aik kaam kar do, meri beti ka khayal rakhna." Mr. Siddiqui said, looking Salaar in the eye. The message had gone through and everyone knew it. (Just do one thing for us. Take care of my daughter.)
"Jee zaroor." Salaar said as he stood up. "Aap Zara se mil sakte hen." He said and walked out. (Yes of course.) (You can meet Zara.)
The molvi arrived after a short while along with his parents and Huzaifa. He never thought this was how his nikkah would be like but this was the only thing he could pull off right now. Once Zara and him started to get along better, he would arrange a proper rukhsati and walima.
Everyone took their places and Huzaifa went to call Zara down. Salaar was having a chat with Mikael and Rayan regarding the arrangements when he heard the jingling noise of bangles. His eyes immediately went towards his bride.
Her face was shielded by the red ghoongat but her beauty was still apparent. He had imagined Zara as a bride countless times but actually seeing her felt very surreal. The dress complimented her wheat skin very nicely.
Her eyes were casted down as she descended and sat between her parents whereas Salaar looked at her openly without any shame. The molvi's voice snapped him back to earth.
"Zara Siddiqui wald Akbar Siddiqui, kya apko Salaar Hussain Sikander wald Nabeel Sikander sikka e rajjul waqt 50 lakh mehr ke sath nikkah qubool he?" (Zara Siddiqui daughter of Akbar Siddiqui, do you accept nikkah with Salaar Hussain Sikander son of Nabeel Sikander with haq mehr paid in cash of 50 lakh?)
Zara's eyes lifted to look at Salaar who looked at her with nothing but pure adoration, her eyes then went around to his parents, their eyes didn't hold any malicious intentions either. 'Ya Allah, if this is what you have written in my naseeb, then I accept.' (naseeb is fate)
And with that she said those words that would bind her to Salaar for eternity. "Qubool hai, qubool hai, qubool hai." (I accept, I accept, I accept) The molvi took her signatures and proceeded to ask Salaar.
"Salaar Hussain Sikander wald Nabeel Sikander, kya apko Zara Siddiqui wald Akbar Siddiqui sikka e rajjul waqt 50 lakh mehr ke sath nikkah qubool he?" (Salaar Hussain Sikander son of Nabeel Sikander, do you accept nikkah with Zara Siddiqui daughter of Akbar Siddiqui with haq mehr paid in cash of 50 lakh?)
Without another thought Salaar said, "Qubool hai, qubool hai, qubool hai." (I accept, I accept, I accept)
The molvi took signatures from Salaar and did the other necessary rituals to complete the Nikkah. At last, the molvi indulged everyone in silent prayer and the nikkah was done.
The groom's side started celebrating as they passed out congratulations while the bride's side just sat there sulking. Salaar immediately got up and announced, "Hum 15 minute men niklein ge." (We will be leaving in 15 minutes)
The Siddiqui men exchanged looks and Mr. Siddiqui spoke up, "Abhi to Zara ne pack karna he aur humne jaahez ka bhi intazam karna he." (Zara still has to pack and we have to arrange for jahez as well.) (A/N: correct me if I am wrong but jahez is what the bride's family gives her to bring to her new house.)
"Aapko jahez ki bilkul bhi fikar karne ki zaroorat nahi he. Humein kuch bhi nahi chahiye. Aur Zara ke kapre hum baad men manga wa len ge ya phir agr Zara ne naye kapre lene hen to wo bhi arrange ho sakta he." Salaar said, putting an end to the discussion. (You do not have to worry about jahez. We do not want anything. And Zara's clothes will be taken later or if she wants new clothes then we can arrange that as well.)
Mr. Siddiqui could only nod his head. He wanted to do a lot for his only daughter's wedding but he could only do so much right now. Zara was sitting quietly all that time, listening to everything. A lone tear slipped from her eye hearing that he was eager to get her away from her family.
She spent a few minutes saying her goodbyes and lastly Salaar finally sat her in the car and drove off with her.
Zara was looking outside the window, facing away from Salaar. On the other hand, one of Salaar's hand was resting on the steering wheel while the other hand was itching to touch Zara's. He kept stealing glances at her from time to time, admiring her beauty.
He desperately wanted to talk to her, to hear her voice but he had no clue what to say. "Zara, meri jaan, please kuch kaho." He said in a low voice. (Zara, my love, please say something.)
"Hum kidhar jaa rahe hen?" Zara asked as she saw him going to a remote area surrounded by trees. (Where are we going?)
"Ghar ja rahe hen." Salaar said softly. (We are going home.)
"Bohut pyari lag rahi ho MashAllah." Salaar said, in an attempt to continue the conversation. (You look beautiful, MashAllah.)
"Mein aapka haath pakar loon?" He asked, waiting for the positive response but got none. He cleared his throat and focused back on driving. (Can I hold your hand?)
Zara was so zoned out hearing him being so nice with her that she didn't even hear his request. It finally settled in that she was married now. Her eyes became huge and her hands began shaking. She was panicking.
Her face turned towards Salaar who looked at her with concern. Her chest began heaving rapidly. Salaar stopped the car and gave his full attention to her. Zara started thrashing around in the seat, trying to open the door but it was locked. He tried to rub her back but she just moved away from him, "DON'T TOUCH ME."
He ignored his hurting heart and tried to make sure she was alright. Her small hands started hitting Salaar. Salaar took a part of her dupatta and gently grabbed her small wrists, making sure his skin didn't touch hers.
"Zara. Take a deep breath." Zara followed his instruction. "That's it, meri jaan. Take another one. You're alright."
Before she knew it, she was finally getting her heartbeat to calm down. Once she was finally calm, Salaar passed her a water bottle for her to drink. Once again, Salaar began driving but this time Zara brought her hand near his. He got the signal and intertwined his fingers with hers as he started rubbing circles on her hand.
Zara desperately needed some reassurance that she was safe and the only reassurance she could get at this moment was from Salaar. Pushing back her thoughts, she decided to grasp the only piece of comfort she could reach for which was from her husband.
________________________
The couple soon reached a very well built mansion surrounded by the tall trees which gave it cover from anyone outside. Salaar helped Zara get out of the car with the heavy dress.
As soon as they were out, a few young girls came forward to help Zara with the dress. Salaar went to the car behind them, to ask Mikael and Rayan whether they were followed or not.
Salaar was talking with his friends when he realized Zara was struggling with her dress despite the girls helping. He excused himself and went over to her. Zara was trying to pick the front of her dress when she felt the very familiar presence behind her.
Before she could turn around, she felt arms snake behind her knees and soon she was lifted in the air by her husband, bridal style. She immediately snaked her arms around his neck to stabilize herself.
He looked down at her with love filled eyes but all she could hear were the giggling of the girls that were trying to help her before. Her red face did not help her much to hide her embarrassment.
Salaar walked inside the huge mansion and took Zara to the master bedroom on the top floor. He gently put her down while he admired her flushed face, secretly smiling at how adorable she looked.
"You can change. I will be back soon." Salaar said as he started to leave when an angelic voice stopped him.
"Uhm Salaar." Zara said.
"Jee meri jaan." He replied (Yes, my love)
"I don't have any clothes with me." Zara asked awkwardly. She wasn't sure what she was supposed to change into.
Salaar silently walked to a door and pulled it open. It was a huge closet with feminine clothing as well as masculine clothing. "I had someone buy a few things. If you don't like anything or you want more then let me know. If you want to wear my clothes then go ahead, I would love that." He said with a wink.
Zara couldn't help but turn red. 'Shameless' she thought. Salaar walked out, leaving her alone with her thoughts.
Zara was changing into more comfortable clothes when her mind wandered back to what happened in the span of 24 hours. Her meeting Salaar at the hospital, then getting the strange phone call and lastly to top it all off she got married.
The strange phone call didn't make any sense at all. She had forgotten about it up till now. She decided to see who the number belonged to later.
She came out of the bathroom in much more comfortable clothes where she saw Salaar laying on the bed, eyes closed. She walked over to him to see if he was actually sleeping.
Seeing, his relaxed face was a sight for sore eyes. His face was truly angelic when relaxed, he had more sharper features with his brown orbs open and that dangerous look on his face.
She was so lost in looking at him when he opened his eyes and her eyes came in contact with his. Zara immediately took a step back in embarrassment and cleared her throat.
Salaar sat up, looking at Zara's flustered form. "Meri jaan, aap kiya dekh rahi thin?" He asked in a teasing tone. (My love, what were you checking?)
"Dekh rahi thi ke mar to nahi gaye magar afsos ki baat hai ke abhi zinda ho." Zara remarked. Salaar smiled seeing her being back to the very sassy female he was used to. (I was checking if you were dead but unfortunately you aren't.)
"Uffff dil torna bhi koi aap se sikhe." Salaar said back while clutching his heart. (Uffff someone should learn how to break a heart from you.)
Ignoring his remark, Zara asked, "Mene kidhar sona he?" (Where am I sleeping?)
"Apko sone ki pari he men to yahan kuch aur hi soch raha tha." Salaar replied in a teasing manner. Zara paled hearing his words and stood rooted in her place. (You want to sleep? And here I had different thoughts.)
Salaar stood up and took a step towards her, making her take several back. "Kia aap mere armaan nahi poore karen gi, Mrs. Zara Salaar Sikander?" He said while standing right infront of her. (Aren't you going to fulfill my wishes, Mrs. Zara Salaar Sikander?)
Zara sucked in her breath when Salaar's cold fingers made contact with the side of her neck. His fingers grazed her neck, leading up to her jaw. Salaar leaned down as if going for a kiss and Zara shut her eyes tightly while stiffening herself.
A few moments passed by with no contact. Salaar's finger skillfully turned Zara's head sideways. As soon as his lips came in contact with her ear, Zara's back arched. "I love you." He whispered sensually and placed a kiss on her ear.
Before she could do anything, he moved back by himself and cleared his throat. Salaar snapped back from his reverie and quickly said, "You can sleep on the bed." He moved away from Zara leaving her standing against the wall.
"Where will you sleep?" Zara asked, dreading the thought of sleeping beside him. She wasn't used to sleeping next to someone, especially a guy. All sorts of thoughts ran through her. Does she snore? Does she kick in her sleep? Does she talk in her sleep?
"I'll sleep on the couch." Salaar said, halting the gears in her brain. Salaar took an extra blanket and a pillow and made himself comfortable on the couch.
Zara laid in the soft bed unable to fall asleep. The intense moments they shared seemed to please her rather than repulse her. Something about his confession steered in her heart. Were the walls breaking or was he already inside the walls to begin with.
Salaar laid on the couch, feeling horrible for what he did. Drowning in his own misery for touching Zara without her telling him to. He reminded himself that he had to wait. Just like that, morning soon arrived.
