Wait, She’s a Billionaire ( Sheena Lawson )
Chapter 123
âWhat did they say?â Howard frowned and eagerly awaited the answer.
âMr. Upton has put Ms. Upton under house arrest, and she canât leave without his permission, âthe butler answered.
Howard snorted. âThatâs great. At least this way, she wonât be able to come to Farlem and cause trouble, and Iâll finally have some peace.â
Then, he waved his hand, signaling the butler to leave while he continued to gaze at the closed doors.
Svelton, the Upton mansion.
Katie was raging in her room, shouting, âDad is being so unreasonable! How could he lock me in this room and not even let me out of this door?â
A timid servant approached and tried to console her softly, âMiss, please donât be too upset. Youâre just grounded and have to stay at home for a while. Itâll pass.â
âWhat do you know? Get out of here!â Katie screamed at the servant, taking all the flowers from the vase and throwing them at the servant. âGo away! Stop bothering me!â
Seemingly unsatisfied, she picked up the vase and smashed it on the ground.
âMiss, please stop! Madam brought this crystal vase back from Floire, and itâs priceless. You canât just break it!â
The servant felt heartbroken as she saw the chipped corner of the vase. Even so, she dared not stop Katie.
âAll these things are my familyâs, and I can smash them however I want! Youâre just a servant, yet you dare to order me around? If you dare to speak out of turn again, Iâll rip your tongue out!â
Katie pushed all the cosmetics off the table, causing a piercing clatter as they hit the ground. The servant knew that trying to reason with Katie would only lead to more trouble, so she wisely remained silent and left the room, closing the door.
Ron and Nicole naturally heard Katieâs furious outburst from upstairs, and Ronâs face grew gloomier as he tossed his cigarette into the ashtray.
âLook at the daughter you raised!â
âWhat are you saying?â Nicole retorted discontentedly, âIsnât Katie your daughter too? Are you trying to put the full blame on me?â
âIf you hadnât spoiled her all this time, would she have turned out like this? Howard wants to break off the engagement, and even if I have to swallow my pride, he wonât change his mind. If we let her continue being willful and reckless like this, the Upton family might really be ruined in her hands!â Ron was furious.
âRon!â
Nicole was about to retort, but Colin Upton came down from upstairs. He had sensed the tense atmosphere and quickly stepped in to defuse the situation.
âDad, Mom, itâs normal for Katie to be in a bad mood from being grounded. Itâs fine to let her vent!â
âBut not like this! Just listen to the noise! If she keeps smashing things like this, all those valuables in the house will be gone in no time!â Ron gestured upstairs, repeatedly sighing in
frustration.
The sounds of objects being shattered could still be faintly heard.
Colin thought for a moment and decided to go upstairs himself to comfort her. Upstairs, Katie held an antique decorative plate, ready to smash it on the ground.
âWho angered our beloved Katie?â Colin took the plate from her hands, pulling her to sit on the sofa. âGetting so angry isnât good for your health. You can break some things to get it out
your system, and then you should calm down.â
of
âColin!â
Katie pouted and pulled her brotherâs arm, her voice full of grievances. âHoward wants to break off the engagement with me because of a divorced woman!â
Colin pinched her cheek. âItâs probably not that simple, is it? Iâm well aware of your little tricks.â
âSince that woman got divorced, Howard has let her stay in the mansion and has been so gentle and attentive to her. How can I stomach that? Colin, youâve always loved me the most. Can you help me get rid of Sheena? Please?â Katie playfully shook his arm and asked, âCan you stand by and watch as another woman takes your little sisterâs favorite man?â
Colin was shocked, and he placed his hands on Katieâs shoulders. âKatie, say that again⦠Whatâs that womanâs name?â
Katie was somewhat puzzled and repeated, âSheena, an orphan from a Farlemâs orphanage. What right does she have to compete with me? Colin, do you know her?â
Colin was deep in thought, thinking that the name was too familiar.
