Wait, She’s a Billionaire ( Sheena Lawson )
Chapter 426
After Sheena finished speaking, Albert took the stage.
Amidst the cheers from the crowd, he swiftly announced Sheenaâs engagement to Elliot. Since Elliot could not make it to the venue, Albert chose to simplify and quickly move past the announcement to minimize the guestsâ attention.
As the banquet progressed, Sheena, having toasted all the guests, sat alone in a corner, sipping her
wine.
Seeing her sitting alone, Colin felt a twinge of sympathy and joined her.
âSheena, youâre not really willing to be engaged to Elliot, are you?â
She remained silent, elegantly swirling her wine glass.
Colin continued, âLook at him. He canât even be present on such an important day, leaving you to bear everyoneâs ridicule. A man like that wonât cherish you properly.â
Sheena chuckled. âMr. Upton, it seems like no one dared to ridicule me except for you today.â
Colin was frustrated. âThatâs because Uncle Albert managed the situation well. Sheena, I regret not having my parents talk to Uncle Albert about our marriage earlier. But if youâre willing to be with me, I can stand up to the Jenkins family for you!â
âNo need, Mr. Upton. Iâm not interested,â Sheena replied without hesitation.
âWhy? Do you really like Elliot?â Colin asked.
Sheena put down her wine glass and said earnestly, âI donât like him and wonât marry him. Similarly, I only see you as a friend. We can only remain as friends. I hope you can understand my stance.â
Colin turned pale, unable to utter a word.
The banquet ended at 11 p.m., and Lionel, who had been lurking around the Freeman family, quickly ran to the car parked a couple of hundred meters away.
Seizing the moment when no one was watching, he opened the car door and got in. Before Lionel could settle, the man who had been waiting inside immediately inquired, âHow did it go?â
Lionel replied, âDonât worry, Mr. Jenkins! With the threats you issued earlier and how well Old Man Lawson handled it, no one dared to gossip about Ms. Sheena behind her back.â
Elliotâs sense of guilt eased a bit.
âDid she look upset?â
Lionel pondered for a moment. âNot really. I saw her chatting with Mr. Upton for quite a while, and it seemed like they got along fine.â
Elliot remained silent, and his complexion immediately paled, looking disappointed.

The car remained unlit, so Lionel could not see his expression, but he could feel the atmosphere turning cold.
Realizing he should not have brought up Colin, Lionel regretfully patted himself for his big mouth, changing the subject, âMr. Jenkins, itâs getting late. When do you plan to go home?â
Elliot contemplated for a moment. âIâll wait a little longer.â
An hour later, Elliot finally returned to the Jenkins estate. Reminded of the penalty Santiago imposed on him for missing the event, he chose not to go back to the estate but headed to the altar room instead.
Upon reaching the altar room, Grant was already waiting at the entrance, clearly anticipating his
arrival.
âMr. Santiago Jenkins was unwell as soon as he returned tonight. You should go check on him,â Grant
informed.
Without much thought, Elliot followed Grant. When they reached the guest room on the second floor,
Grant suddenly halted and gestured for him to enter.
Elliot frowned and asked, âThis isnât Grandpaâs room. Why are you taking me here?â
Grant remained composed. âHis legs arenât feeling well. He just made it to this point today and fell ill, so he decided to stay here.â
Elliot stayed silent, showing evident doubt.
Grant locked eyes with him and emphasized, âDo you think Iâd joke about his health? Heâs inside. Hurry up and enter. He might get upset if youâre late.â
Still doubtful, Elliot opened the door and took several steps inside. Suddenly, Grant pushed him from behind, shut the door, and locked it.
âUncle Grant, open the door!â Elliot pounded on the door several times, but there was no response
from outside.
It seemed like the person had already left.
Perplexed, Elliot was trying to figure out the situation when he heard a familiar and tender voice from
behind.
âItâs useless, Mr. Jenkins. Youâve been avoiding me, and Grandpa Santiago specially arranged for this.
That voiceâ¦
