Wait, She’s a Billionaire ( Sheena Lawson )
Chapter 591
Noticing her silence, Elliotâs frown deepened.
âNana?â
Sheena snapped out of her thoughts, explaining seriously, âI have a hunch that heâs hiding a bigger secret, and itâs not as simple as it seems. But tonight, I took the medicine he gave to the lab for testing, and itâs indeed effective. Perhaps he really knows a way to cure you.â
âWhat conditions did you agree to in exchange for the medicine?â
âBail him out and return his freedom.â
Elliot was not entirely convinced. âJust that?â
âYes, but I donât know what heâs plotting. Even so, heâs isolated and powerless now, and I doubt he can stir up much trouble,â Sheena said, discreetly pinching her palm and changing the subject. âEli, itâs very late. Letâs sleep for now, and we can think about these matters later.â
Elliot remained serious, not swayed by her attempt to redirect.
âIf he really knows the antidote for $404, he holds my life in his hands. With such a significant bargaining chip, why would he only discuss the condition of his release with you?
âIâ¦â Sheena concealed the unease in her eyes, chuckling softly. âHow would I know? Maybe he has other plans, but he just hasnât told me yet.â
If Elliot had learned about Nathanielâs other two conditions, he would surely have resisted, unwilling to take the medicine Nathaniel provided. Moreover, she also needed to carefully consider how to continue dealing with Nathaniel, trying to extract more useful information about the whereabouts of
the antidote.
Seeing that Elliot was not giving up and wanted to continue probing, she lazily massaged her shoulders, fatigue evident in her eyes.
âIâve been busy the whole day, and Iâm exhausted. Letâs talk about this later. Iâm going to bed.â
âNanaâ¦â Elliot was unwilling to let go.
Sheena cupped his face and planted a kiss on his lips.
âBe good, Eli. Goodnight.
Reluctantly, Elliot responded, âGoodnight.â
Sheena added, âGo to sleep. Iâll wait until youâre asleep before returning to the next room.â
âOkay.â
Elliot obediently snuggled under the covers, closed his eyes, and drifted off to sleep.

Sheena silently watched his peaceful sleeping expression for a while. As his breathing gradually. became steady, she turned off the light, closed the door, and returned to the adjacent room.
As soon as she left, Elliot slowly opened his eyes, staring at the ceiling.
Sheena was not good at lying. He could see through all her subtle actions.
Tonight, her performance indicated that there was something she was hiding, unwilling to tell him.
The more she refrained from speaking, the more it suggested that Nathanielâs conditions for exchange were not as simple as she portrayed. Nonetheless, he knew that Sheena was truly going through a tough time for his sake, and he felt a pang of sympathy for her.
Since she was not planning to reveal the whole truth, he would not pry further.
Instead, he could investigate on his own!
While contemplating this, Elliot heard the sound of the door closing from the adjacent room. Though subtle, in the quiet night, it was quite noticeable.
Elliot immediately sat up, carefully closing the balcony doors and windows before calling Lionel.
Lionel, who had just fallen asleep not long ago, was awakened by Elliotâs call again, feeling rather exasperated.
âMr. Jenkins, canât you give all your orders at once? Three calls in one night, and they come every few hours. I canât take it!â
In a hushed voice, Elliot replied, âIt sounds like you donât like this job, eh?â
Lionel panicked. âNo, not at all! I absolutely love this job! Iâve decided not to sleep tonight and play games all night. Iâll be at your beck and call anytime!â
Elliot paused, softening his tone. âThis will be considered as overtime for you. Tomorrow, go to the finance department and claim a double allowance yourself. Donât say that I mistreat you.â
Lionelâs drowsiness vanished instantly, and he became enthusiastic. âNo way! Mr. Jenkins, youâre the most generous superior in the world. I love you so much!â
Elliot furrowed his brow, nearly repulsed by the last part of Lionelâs statement..
âDonât love me. Itâs pointless.â
