Wait, She’s a Billionaire ( Sheena Lawson )
Chapter 995
However, Sheena found herself lost in memories.
Orphanage, inâlawsâ¦
Why did it all feel so familiar?
With a sense of suspicion, she returned to sit beside Phoebe and held her hand, which was not
attached to an IV.
âPhoebe, do you remember your last name?â
A gentle smile graced Phoebeâs pale lips as she looked at Sheena.
âWhatâs gotten into you? How could I forget my last name? The orphanageâs director picked me up on Canterbury Street in Farlem. She named me Phoebe and gave me her last name,
Chamberlain.â
Sheena was stunned and glanced at Howard.
Howard, too, looked utterly bewildered. He sat up abruptly from the bed and grabbed Phoebeâs wrist, unable to believe what he was hearing.
âPhoebe, whatâs wrong? Youâre not a Chamberlain anymore Your last name is Nicholls. As recorded in the family ancestry, youâre the fifth child of the Nicholls family, Janice Nicholls. Donât you remember?â
Phoebe withdrew her arm from his grasp, looking at him as if he were a stranger. Then, she shifted slightly toward Sheena, seeming to find solace in her presence.
Lowering her head apologetically, she said, âMr. Freeman, I appreciate you looking after me at Sheenaâs request, but youâre Sheenaâs husband after all I donât want to give Sheena the wrong idea. Please keep your distance, and please donât say these strange things again. I really donât
understand.â
Sheena and Howard exchanged puzzled looks.
How did Howard become her husband?
And Mr. Freemanâ¦
Was her memory playing tricks on her?
Sheena felt a whirlwind of emotions inside.
She turned to Howard, instructing him, âHoward, look after Phoebe. Iâll get Professor Yosef to
check on her.â
As she got up to leave, Phoebe grabbed her wrist.
âSheena, please donât go. Itâs Inappropriate for me to be alone with your husband in the ward.â
Howardâs eyes welled up with tears, his heart feeling as though it had been pierced, sending waves of pain all over his body.
âPhoebe, so all this time, you knew I was here, but you thought I was Nanaâs husband. You deliberately kept your distance from me, deliberately ignored me.â
Phoebe looked at him inexplicably, unmoved by his sadness, and only a sense of unfamiliarity
remained.
She continued to clutch Sheenaâs hand, refusing to let her go.
Sheena sighed, feeling helpless. âWell, Howard, why donât you go get Professor Yosef? Iâll stay with
Phoebe.â
âOkay,â Howard replied in a deep, somber tone, his eyes red with tears as he turned and left the
room.
As soon as Howard left, Phoebe leaned close to Sheena, expressing concern.
âSheena, Mr. Freeman has been giving me strange looks whenever he checks on me. But donât worry, I wonât have any feelings for him. Iâm truly touched by how hard you two have been working for my sake. Thank you, Sheena.â
Sheenaâs lips twitched slightly. However, Yosef had not arrived yet, so she chose to calm
Phoebeâs emotions first.
Smiling, she said, âItâs nothing, really.â
A few minutes later, Yosef arrived. He wore a medical mask and, in front of Sheena and Howard,
addressed Phoebe.
âDonât be afraid. Iâm your doctor, and there are some things I need to ask you. Just answer
truthfully.â
Phoebe looked anxiously at Sheena, who smiled reassuringly at her.
She nodded to Yosef.
Yosef took out his medical notes and began to inquire, âMs. Nicholls, do youâ¦â
Phoebe interrupted him, âDoctor, my last name is Chamberlain.â
âOkay, Ms. Chamberlain.â Yosef smiled, then turned to Sheena and continued, âWho is she?â
âSheena, my only friend. She was taken from the orphanage by Old Man Freeman when she was
she?
fifteen, but weâve kept in touch over the years, and we have a good relationship.â
âHow old is she?â Yosef asked.
Phoebe thought for a moment and replied, âTwenty years old.â
