My Brothers Possessive Best Friend 11

My Brothers Possessive Best Friend

Getting out of Blake’s car the first thing I saw was the girl who slapped me the other day groping the boy who I beat up the other week. I smile came to my face when I remembered what happened after I’d taken Logan to the nurses office to clean him up.

I waited at the hood of the car for Logan and Blake but they weren’t anywhere to be seen. Turning around they were both at the trunk of the car speaking quietly to one and other.

“You two down gossiping?” I shouted.

“Go ahead Lacey I need to speak to Logan.” Huffing in annoyance to myself I looked around the car lot. I saw Dylan coming out of his car nodding to whatever music he was listening. Walking over to him he lifted his head and smiled.

“Well if it isn’t little miss thang thang.” He winked. I laughed at him and wrapped an arm around his waist and we began to walk up the pathway to school.

“So what’s up with you?”

“What!? N-n-nothing! Nothing.” His eyes suddenly averted to anywhere but in my direction. Stopping us walking I stood in front of him.

“Wow what was that?” I placed a hand on his belly to stop him walking any further. Dylan was a good looking lad. A strong jaw line. Blue eyes, dark brown hair. Tall and good build.

“What was what?”

“No no no don’t do that to me. You know exactly what I’m on about McNally.” He stood on the spot fidgeting with his car keys before he huffed out.

“Well for the past 2 mon ... there’s this gi ... i’ve been speakin-.”

“Dylan are you trying to tell me that there’s a girl that you might genially like?” I couldn’t help the smile that crept up on my face. He looked down at me before sighing.

“Yes.”

“Damn, took you long enough.” I winked. “So what’s with the sad face?”

“Well I don’t want to go public with us because well, you know everyone, they’ll eat her alive. But the thing is she thinks it’s because I just don’t want anyone knowing about us but it couldn’t be any more of the opposite. I want everyone to know that she’s mine!”

“McNally’s got it bad.” I laughed and hugged him tightly. “What’s her name?”

“Skylar Nero.”

“Never seen her before.”

“That’s because she hides out in the library.” He sighs again.

“Then hell the hell did you meet her?” He jabbed me lightly in my ribs and laughed.

“I do study on the odd occasion Kelly.” We laughed and started to walk slowly.

“But if you really want to know. She was getting my Randal and his group of friends. When I saw her on the floor surrounded by them, well I don’t know actually, I just lost it. I mean they’d pushed her down on the cold wet ground and taken her jacket and bag and it was pouring down with rain!”

“Jesus Dylan. You’re sounding like her night and shining armour there.” He chuckled lightly.

“Something like that I guess. But after they’d all left, I helped her with picking her stuff up and her jacket was soaked so I gave her mine. I was going to leave her then but then she started walking so I offered her a lift home and we ended up parking up in front of hers and talking for ages. Honestly Lacey she’s really funny and so beautiful. I’m so happy with her.”

“I sense a massive but.”

“But...but I think I’m going to lose her. She really thinks I’m ashamed to be seen with her or something. It’s eaten me up man.”

“So let me get this straight. You’re okay to be seen with her?”

“You kidding me? “

“I’ll take that as a yes. But you’re only problem is our fabulous group of friends. You don’t think she’d be comfortable, that she won’t fit in?”

“Pretty much. I just want her to be happy.”

Chuckling to myself I could feel the cogs in my head turning, conjuring a masterpiece of a plan.

“Leave it to me McNally.” I winked at him before running off. I could hear him calling after me but I just carried on running.

~lunch time~

Looking at the sign with a women with her finger against her lips in a ‘shut up’ manner I entered the library with my intentions in full flow. Looking up and down the sign in sheet I found the name I was looking for. Now I know that she is in here, what the hell does she look like?

Walking over to the front desk I put on a sickly sweet smile and got the attention of Mrs Blueberry, the schools librarian. “Kelly, never thought I’d see you in here.” She muttered, glancing up at me for a moment before returning to the computer screen.

“Same here Blue. See here’s the thing. I’ve been forced into these tutoring sessions to help pass Math. But I’ve never seen the girl. Couldn’t help me out could you?” She looked up at me and sighed in annoyance.

“Who’s it with?”

“Someone called Skylar Nero, I think.” I smiled more tightly as she looked up at me.

“She’ll be in the study room at the back. Be nice to her.” She warned.

“Aren’t I always.” Smirking I headed towards the back of the library and found the door with Study room plated on the front of it. Entering I saw one girl sitting at the table with a computer in front of her. I couldn’t help but notice the unhappy expression plastered against her face.

I could see what Dylan saw in her. She had long light brown curly hair. And I mean ringlet type of curly. The light coming from the laptop screen emphasised her brown eyes. I could tell that she didn’t have any make-up, and looking her up and down she was respectfully covered up. Not anything like the usual that Dylan went for. He must really like her.

“Nero.” I said shortly. Her head snapped up from the screen to look at me standing in the door way. “You’re needed in the cafe.”

“W-why?”

“You put your name down to help with the set up for tonight’s senior bingo night. You need to come help with set up.”

“I don’t remember putting my name down for that.”

“Well you did. Do you want to let everyone down? We’re all counting on you Nero.” She squirmed in her seat before gathering her things.

“Well If I’ve put my name down i should help.” She said softly. She’s so adorable. I just want to go squish her cheeks for being so cute.

We began to walk out of the library and heading down to the cafe...where Dylan will be sitting, having his lunch, like he does every day. The walk down there was silent. I didn’t want to make her anymore uncomfortable then she already was, especially with what I’m about to throw at her.

Pushing on the double doors we walked through and I could sense Skylar’s confusion. Walking a bit further she stopped dead in her tracks when the table where Dylan was sitting on. Logan’s head snapped up in my direction and his face broke out in the biggest grin I’ve ever seen. It was only then that I realised that I hadn’t spoken to him all day. Being too wrapped up in trying to fix Dylan’s problem. I stood in front of Skylar.

“See, here’s the thing. Dylan’s told me about you two and I find it pretty damn adorable. But you need to know that he isn’t ashamed to be seen with you. He’s just worried that you won’t feel happy or comfortable with our group of friends. Without sounding too harsh, you look like the type that enjoys your own company, right? Well I’m exactly the same so don’t worry. And plus, you should have seen him when he was talking about you this morning. It was as if someone had been filling his dreams with rainbows and skittles and he’d woken up and a massive marshmallow or something, I don’t know. The thing is, he’s really happy. He always seems pretty serious about you, and he’s never been like that before. So I’m not sticking up for him but just give him a little time to get use to everything.”

She looked at me with wide eyes.

“I really like him to.” I laughed at the simply statement.

“Well then, this is how it’s going to go. I shall introduce you as my friend. Which will be kind of weird actually.” My face screwed at the realisation of it.

“Why’s that?”

“I don’t and never have had a female friend. Always been under my brother’s protection type of thing.”

“Oh. We-well...I’ll be your friend. That’s if you want to be bec-because you know...I don’t have any female friends either to be honest.” She looked down at her feet. Hooking my arm around her shoulder I began to walk towards the table.

“Then it’s settled.” I said winking at her. She blushed and laughed.

Getting closer to the table everyone looked mine and Skylar’s way. “Everyone, Skylar. Skylar, everyone. Upset her, you shall be signing your own death certificate.” I sat down in between Blake and Dylan. With Blake and Skylar on both of my sides, Skylar was right next to Dylan. I could see them smiling at each other at the corner of the eye and I smiled in content.

There. At least they can get used to being around each other with everyone here without the pressure of them all knowing that they’re together.

Blake put his food tray in between the two of us and I automatically grabbed a fork and stabbed at the lasagne. “You have a girlfriend?” He asked, clearly highly amused.

“Indeed. And hands off or I’ll snap both your wrists clean.” I warned.

“Hey, don’t need to tell me twice. I’m just happy you’ve got yourself a little buddy.” I smiled at him with food in my mouth and lightly tapped him in the ribs. “Why don’t you invite her over tonight?”

“Why?”

“I’m not going to be in. I’ve already told Logan that he needs to be there. But it might be nice to have her there as well.”

“Well, I don’t know, we’ve only just became friends you know. Might leave it a couple weeks.” I said as calmly as I could possibly manage while the mini me inside me was dancing like a maniac.

Me and Logan have got the house all to ourselves. Scrabble party!!!! ...not.

“Fair enough. Don’t want to let her know how much of a nutter you are straight away.”

“Dude!” Laughing he picking up his fork again and we finished of the double helping of lasagne.

I was heading towards the car where I could see Logan and Blake waiting. Sitting on the hood, clearly having an in depth conversation about something.

“Lacey!” Turning I saw Skylar running towards me. I barely had time to react before she wrapped her arms around me tightly as she chanted a billion ‘thank you’s’. She let go, blushing. “I’m sorry.” She muttered.

“It’s fine.” I laughed. “How was lunch?” I asked with a knowing smirk.

“It was great! I know that no one could see but he didn’t let go of me the whole time! And when I was going to walk to class, he walked me! And kissed me before I went in! Thank you so much. I understand now. He just needs to get more comfortable. So do I for that matter, but still. Thank you.”

“Always a pleasure to help out a friend Skylar.” I said smiling. “I’ve got to go, my brother’s waiting, but I’ll see you tomorrow yeah?”

“I’ll see you tomorrow.” She gave me another quick hug before disappearing up the stairs. No doubt heading towards the library, bless her.
