My Brothers Possessive Best Friend 18

My Brothers Possessive Best Friend

Sitting in the deathly silent car I couldn’t help but notice that Blake looked a lot like Dad. We’d been driving for a good twenty minutes and they both had the same stern expression on their faces. Logan sat next to me squirming. I knew that Blake knew. The way that Logan acted towards me in the kitchen made it completely obvious that something was going on. But with the mindset that I was in I honestly didn’t care and I don’t think that Blake would at this moment either.

I had no idea where I was going. But in the last two hours, I’d met my crazy son of a bitch auntie, and found out that the parents, where I thought that one was heartless and the other non avoid with the correct mindset of a parent, were actually together, and apparently loved me and Blake very much.

We were in the middle of town and Dad was honking at the traffic. “For fuck sake.” He muttered underneath his breath.

“What’s the rush?” I hissed through my teeth.

“She’s going to be pissed. Really pissed. And she is going to lash out harshly. I need to get you three to safety. None of you are going to be able to walk away from this now. You’re too far in.” He turned up a street, that was near enough empty, and speed up. The black Jeep reefed forward and took off down the back roads. “The quicker that you’re all behind closed doors and we can keep an eye on you, the better.”

“We?”  He glanced at me at the corner of his eyes for a moment.

“Your mother Lacey.”

“Awh great. Just the perfect little family reunion.” I muttered sarcastically.

“Actually, it’s going to be just that.”

“What’s that supposed to mean exactly?”

“Well, all of your mother’s side of the family are going to be there. We all live on the road together.”

“Fucking fantastic.”

“If it’s any consolation, everyone is excited to meet you.”

“Dad, I think it’s best if you just drive for now.” Blake interrupted. The rest of the car ride was in pure silence until he pulled off into a small side road that lead up to, what looked like, an old abandoned home.

“Everyone is inside waiting for you all. I’ll give them the heads up. Take all the time you need. You’re safe here.” Dad walked across the stoned floor and through the double doors.

“How can you be handling this so fucking calmly Blake? I’m going insane over here and you’re strolling about as if you’re about to go fuck your flavour of the week.”

“You’re pissed Lacey, I get it, but don’t take it out on me. I’m running a thousand miles in my head a second here! I’m just taking it how it comes okay. I’ve wanted a family for as long as I can remember and right now it’s looking like I might actually have one. Dysfunctional, yes, but still a family.”

“Well sorry that me and Logan weren’t good enough.”

“You know that’s not what I meant! And you and Logan have each other now! What about me Lacey?” Shit, he’s brought it up. I felt Logan tense up behind me. Blake moved towards us and wrapped his arms around both of us so that we were in a three way hug.

“Listen, I’ve known for a couple weeks and to be brutally honest, I don’t give a fuck. I see how happy you make each other and that makes me happy. But seriously dude, hurt her and you’re dead.” We chuckled lightly. “We go in there together, we come out together.”

Everyone gave one last squeeze before slowly walking towards the double doors. Blake and Logan were the people to push them open and as we stood at the threshold I was slightly overwhelmed by the amount of people looking at the three of us.

“Lacey, Blake, Logan.” My Dad said as he stepped out of an office door. “This is your family.” I couldn’t help it. My eyes darted from every women’s face, but no one stuck out to me in the way that I’d hope she would. “She’s not here Lacey.” He muttered. Great.

“Well, where is she then?”

“She’s out looking for Jackie. She’ll be back soon though.” Two elderly people stepped forward. One woman and one man. “This is Gerald and Sophia, your grandparents.” The woman stepped forward and cradled my face in her hands.

“My my you look just like my baby, so beautiful.” I don’t know why but my heart stung from her comment. Stepping out of her embrace I looked her up and down.

“Well, I’ll have to take your word for it, you know, never seeing her and everything.” I knew that she was expecting something completely different out of me but, I was pissed. The man, Gerald, stepped forward and pushed his hand out, shaking with Logan and Blake.

“I am Gerald. I’m glad you’re here and safe now.” He looked at me and smiled sweetly. “She’s right you know. You look just like her. And you’ll find out for yourself soon enough.” I picked at my chipped nail varnish out of nervous habit.

“Well.” Dad interrupted. “Would you like to meet everyone?” Blake stepped forward immediately. Turning I whispered into Logan’s ear.

“Don’t leave me.” He wrapped his arm around me and placed his warm hand on the small of my back whilst placing a kiss on my temple.

“Lace, I ain’t ever leaving you baby.” My heart fluttered as he looked down at me and didn’t move his eyes. He made me feel as if it was just me and him in the room.

“Hi, my names Steven.” Turning, in front of me stood an overly muscled man with dark hair like mine and Blake’s. Dressed from head to toe in pure black and wearing a short sleeved shirt that showed off his arms that were covered in tattoos, some poking out the neckline of his shirt, he looked like someone you would cross the street just to avoid eye contact with. “I’m your Uncle.” He smiled and opened his arms to me, dragging me into a bear hug. “I’ve waited so long to meet you two!”

Jesus, this is not what I was expecting.

He soon let go of me and I stumbled back into Logan’s arms. “And you must be loverboy?” He winked at Logan as he eyed our appearance. I felt my cheeks redden at the attention. “No harm done boy.” He said as he slapped Logan’s shoulder. “Just as long as you keep my little niece happy, we haven’t got a problem.”

“Steven! Leave the poor people alone. You’re overwhelming them already and they haven’t been here two minute!” A girl my age came bouncing round the corner and came to a halt in front of me.

“Hey.” Her smile soon faltered. “I’m sorry for the mess that my Mother is creating for you.” Oh shit, this must be one of Jackie’s kids!

“It’s fine.” I muttered, not knowing what else to say. “Honestly.” She half smiled at me and held out her hand like Gerald had to Logan and Blake.

“My name is Carly. My brother over there.” She pointed to a boy who was sitting at the table stuffing his face. He waved and smiled at us with his mouth filled with a meatball sub. “That’s Sam.” Watching him it was only then I realised how hungry I was. My stomach grumbled in response. Carly laughed.

“Derek, can I make them some food? By the time they’ve finished Ruby should be back.”

“Ruby?” Blake asked.

“That’s your mother’s name. And yes Carly, that’s not a bad idea actually.”

“Come.” She said. “I’ll fix you something to eat.”
