Author's Point of View

The grand mansion stood tall under the evening sky, its warm golden lights glowing softly through the large windows. Taehyung stood at the doorstep, inhaling deeply before pressing the doorbell. A familiar chime echoed inside, followed by the soft sound of footsteps approaching. Within moments, the door creaked open, revealing his Eomma, Jin, standing there with a gentle smile.

"You’re home, Tae," Jin said, stepping aside to let him in.

Taehyung nodded slightly, stepping inside, immediately enveloped by the warmth of his childhood home. The scent of home-cooked food lingered in the air, mixing with the faint fragrance of lavender that his Eomma always used in the house.

As they walked into the living room, he saw his Appa, Namjoon, seated on the couch, watching the evening news. The older man looked up, his wise eyes softening at the sight of his son.

"Tae, go and freshen up," Jin said, already making his way towards the kitchen.

"Okay, Eomma," Taehyung replied before heading upstairs to his room.

Flashback | After the Café Visit

Jin and Namjoon had just returned home, settling on the living room couch. Jin, still thinking about the café, leaned against his husband’s shoulder with a thoughtful expression.

“Jungkook is so cute, isn’t he, Joon?” Jin mused, a small smile playing on his lips.

Namjoon chuckled, nodding. “Yeah, he is. And very well-mannered too. You can tell he was raised well.”

Jin sighed, his smile fading slightly. “What do you think we should do now?” He glanced at Namjoon, a bit of worry visible in his eyes.

Namjoon wrapped an arm around Jin’s shoulder, rubbing slow circles to comfort him. “Don’t worry, Jinnie. We have some time to figure things out. We’ll talk to them when the time is right.”

Jin, however, had another idea. “Joon, I think we should let her talk to him first. Let’s visit her after some time. I miss her too,” he admitted, his voice carrying a soft longing.

Namjoon nodded in agreement. “Yeah, that sounds better.”

The conversation shifted, and Namjoon suddenly narrowed his eyes at Jin. “But tell me one thing, Jinnie… why did you do that in the café?” he asked, raising his left eyebrow in suspicion.

Jin grinned mischievously. “I just wanted to tease them,” he replied casually, reaching for the remote to switch on the TV.

Namjoon shook his head at his husband’s antics. “That little bunny must be stressed out now,” he muttered.

Jin laughed, completely unbothered. “You’re right, Joon. He must be scared of me now~ But it was so fun to see their reactions,” he giggled.

Namjoon sighed but let it go, focusing on the news while Jin curled up beside him, enjoying the peaceful evening.

Fifteen minutes later, Taehyung returned to the living room, now in comfortable clothes, his hair slightly damp from the shower. He sat down on the couch where his parents were waiting for him.

Taking a deep breath, he lowered his gaze, guilt evident in his eyes. “Appa, Eomma… first of all, I’m really sorry for my behavior earlier. I shouldn’t have talked to you like that. I’m sorry, Eomma,” he said, his voice laced with remorse.

Namjoon and Jin exchanged a knowing glance before smiling warmly. They had always known how respectful and kind-hearted their son was, but seeing him apologize so sincerely made them feel even more grateful to have him.

“It’s okay, baby,” Jin said, shifting closer to cup Taehyung’s cheek gently.

“Yes, cub. We understand,” Namjoon reassured him. “Don’t worry about it, alright?”

Taehyung’s lips curled into a soft smile as he leaned into Jin’s touch before side-hugging him. “Thank you, Eomma. Thank you, Appa… for always understanding me.”

Jin patted his head affectionately. “Now, tell me,” he began with a teasing smile. “That little bunny of yours… he said yes, didn’t he?”

A deep blush spread across Taehyung’s face, and he nodded shyly.

Namjoon grinned, unable to resist teasing his son. “Oh, so our baby cub has a boyfriend now?”

“Appa” Taehyung whined, sitting up straight in embarrassment.

But the lighthearted moment soon shifted as Taehyung’s expression turned serious. “Eomma… Appa… I have something to tell you and it’s about Jungkook,” he said, his voice carrying a hint of worry.

Namjoon and Jin immediately focused on him. “What is it, son?” Namjoon asked.

Taehyung inhaled deeply before speaking. “Jungkook… have a daughter.”

Namjoon and Jin’s eyes widened in surprise. But before they could react, Taehyung quickly added, “Please listen to me first.”

Both nodded, allowing him to continue.

Taking another deep breath, Taehyung began to recount Jungkook’s story—how he had lost his parents in a tragic accident at the age of eighteen, how he had fallen into depression, and how a week-old baby girl had been left on his doorstep, becoming his only reason to keep going.

“He tried to find her parents,” Taehyung explained, “but after months with no success, he decided to adopt her. That little girl became his everything. And even now, she is his world. Her name is Aera… she’s four years old. Jungkook loves her more than anything, and she loves him just as much. She calls him ‘Mumma’ and… and she calls me ‘Dada.’”

Namjoon and Jin listened attentively, taking in every word. They were left speechless by Jungkook’s resilience, unable to comprehend the kind of strength it took for an eighteen-year-old to raise a child alone.

“I can’t believe it…” Jin finally said, astonished. “He was so young, yet he did all of that on his own?”

“Absolutely, Jinnie,” Namjoon agreed, admiration clear in his tone. “He’s a gem, for sure.”

“He really is,” Taehyung murmured. His eyes softened as he thought of Aera. “Eomma, Aera is also adorable. Once you meet her, you won’t want to let her go. She’s so sweet… my little princess is really precious to me.”

Namjoon smiled at how naturally Taehyung referred to Aera as ‘his.’

Jin, however, studied his son carefully. “Tae,” he said seriously. “Are you ready for this responsibility?”

Taehyung didn’t hesitate. “Eomma… before I met Jungkook, I met Aera. The first time I saw her, she was running toward me with a bandage for my finger. She’s too pure, too kind. I’m not accepting her Eomma… she has accepted me first. And when she calls me ‘Dada’… I feel like that’s the only thing I want to be. I love her, Eomma. She’s very, very precious to me.”

Jin smiled, finally feeling reassured. “Call Jungkook,” he said softly. “Let me talk to him.”

Taehyung immediately dialed Jungkook’s number and handed the phone to Jin.

On Call ~

“Hello,” Jungkook answered, his sweet voice laced with nervousness.

Jin smiled. “Hello, Jungkook.”

“Oh! Mr. Kim, good evening,” Jungkook greeted politely.

“Good evening to you too,” Jin said warmly. “I wanted to ask if you could bring Aera tomorrow.”

Jungkook paused for a second but quickly responded, “Of course, Mr. Kim. I will.”

“Alright then. Good night, dear,” Jin said sweetly.

“Good night, Mr. Kim,” Jungkook replied politely before the call ended.

That night, as Taehyung lay in bed, he smiled to himself.

“I think I already love you, Jungkook. And I will spend my life proving it.”
