Dates
The Scomiche Chronicles
I sighed, feeling the emptiness of the house. Mitch had gone on a date, leaving me to my own devices. I couldn't help but wonder what Mitch was doing on his date. Whatever. The guy wasn't good enough for him. I haven't even met him and I already don't like him.
I play and dance along to Beyoncè songs until the front door opens and shuts. I go out to greet Mitch and ask him about his date, but one look at his upset face tells me everything. "Another bad date?" I ask him. He nods despairingly. "What happened this time?" He sighed and recounted his horrible date. "Ok so the guy was cute and all, but he didn't respect my personal boundaries, and didn't understand no."
"What did he do? Did he come on to you?" I got angry at the thought of the man forcing Mitch. "No, no no. He just had his hand on my thigh and wouldn't move it when I told him to." Mitch quickly reassured me. I was slightly less mad now that I knew he wasn't forced, but I was still angry.
"I just wish I could find the perfect guy" He sighs as he walks back to his room. I don't know what made me do it, but before he could walk in to his room, I grabbed his arm and asked "Let me take you on a date?"
Mitch stared at me in shock and confusion and I hurried to explain.
"It's just you've always been on bad dates. I just want you to have a good one. And I know that I can treat you better then all those other boys. So please let me take you out." I stared at him hoping for a positive response.
He looked at me, eyes slightly watery. "That's the sweetest thing anyone's ever done for me. Of course I'll go out with you." I beamed at him. "Great. I'll pick you up at 8." I tell him, and then rush to my room to get ready. After a few hours I stand in front of my mirror, breathing nervously. "You got this Scott. It's just Mitch, the guy you've know since you were a child." I say to my reflection, giving myself a pep talk.
I walk to the next door and knock. When he opens it I playfully bow and hold out my arm. "You're Chariot awaits, my lady." I say in a British accent, making Mitch giggle. Hearing his laugh put a smile on my face and I escort him to the car. I drive him to the nearest Starbucks and get out, holding the door for him. He smiles at me and I blush and follow him.
I tell him to get a seat for us and go to order, having ordered his drink enough times to have it memorized. I pay and head back giving Mitch his drink. He starts telling me about a story, but I tune it out in favor of admiring him. Wow does he look beautiful tonight. And every night as a matter of fact. "Thank you." He said. I looked at him, confused. "Did Isay that out loud?" My face turned crimson as I blushed hard. "Oh,well it's the truth. You're stunning all the time." I tell him staring deep into his soulful brown eyes. This time it was his turn to turn red. We finish our coffee, and go back home.
When we get home just as I'm about to enter my room, Mitch pulls me back. "I had fun with you tonight. Thanks for the best date ever." He said while drawing closer to me. I swallow nervously as he gets closer and closer. Just as I'm thinking about this being a dream, our lips collide and the spark it made go through my body was enough to convince me that it was real. I kiss him back, but he pulls away and looks into my eyes. "I'd like to go on another one." He says before leaving for his room, leaving me to gaze after him in awe.
Did that really just happen?
