The Big L Word
The Scomiche Chronicles
Scott fidgeted with the tie of his suit. "You got this Scott. It's just telling your boyfriend you love him. How hard can it be?" His pep talk only made him more nervous, but he still went and knocked on the door next to him. One good thing about living with your partner was that you'd never be late for dates. Scott knocked and asked "Hey, beautiful are you ready?"
"Just a minute, let me fix this one piece of hair. It does not want to cooperate." Mitch said. Scott smiles when he hears a growl coming out of the bathroom, knowing Mitch's frustrations with his hair. "You look beautiful, don't bother with your hair."
"Bitch, you can't see me right now. How do you know how I look?" Mitch retorts, checking his makeup in the mirror. "You're beautiful always." He hears from the door. Mitch smiles as his heart soared. His boyfriend was so sweet, always saying that he looked gorgeous or stunning. He decided that his hair was as good as it was going to get and opened the door.
Scott drew a breath and looked awestruck. "You, my dear, are absolutely stunning." He said with such an adoring look on his face that Mitch blushes. He grabs Scott's collar and tugs him down for a kiss. Mitch steps back and smirks at the completely aroused look on Scott's face. "Come on" Mitch said, swaying his hips as he walked, knowing that Scott's eyes would be on him. "We have a date to go on." Scott's eyes darkened, and he eyed the brunet walking in front of him up and down.
During the drive they sing and talk, but as they get closer and closer to their destination, the nerves over take him and he falls silent. Mitch senses this and puts his hand on Scott's knees for comfort. Scott squeeezes Mitch's hand, letting him know that he appreciated it. They arrive, and Scott rushes to the other side of the car to open the door for Mitch. Mitch giggles and kisses Scott on the lips.
Once they order and their food arrives, they laugh and eat the night away. Finally, they order dessert and Scott nervously clears his throat, deciding that the time to confess his love was now. "Hey Mitch?" Mitch looks up and smiles. "I love y- how amazing you look." Scott quickly improvises as nerves take over. He can't say it. He just can't. But he has to. He needs to let Mitch know how much he means to Scott and how much he loves him.
Mitch looked deflated. It wasn't the kind of I love he was hoping for but he graciously took the compliment. Scott sighed and shook his head. "Look, there's something I need to tell you, and you don't have to say it back, and I hope I don't ruin anything. Did I mention you look gorgeous today? Cuz you do. " Scott's rambling is cut short by Mitch squeezing his hand. "Scott it's okay. I love you." Mitch says, staring into Scott's eyes. The minute of silence before Scott speaks is all it takes for Mitch to panic. What if he doesn't feel the same? What if Scott doesn't love him back?
What if what if what-
Scott saw the panic on Mitch's face and hurriedly said, "No, no no. Don't panic." He stood up and held Mitch's hand, knowing from past experience that contact helped Mitch the most. "I've loved you for the longest time. That's what I was going to tell you, but I was too chicken." Mitch let out a sigh, panic rushing out of him, at the realization that Scott loved him. Scott loves him. Mitch wanted to sing that from a mountain top. "I love you so much." he replied, and pulls Scott into a loving kiss. "Now come. I think we've spent enough time being emotional messes. Let's go." Scott held out his hand. "Hey Scott?" Mitch asks, glancing back. Scott hummed in reply. "I love you." The smile that lit up Scott's face when he said it was worth the panic he had earlier. Scott raised Mitch's hand and placed a kiss on his knuckles. "I love you too." The two walked home, ready to take on any adventure that their love would bring them.
