“Hi, I am looking for researcher Wen Rugui. I am his girlfriend.”The guard’s eyes lit up like two lights with gossip written all over them when he heard that. “Wait here, Comrade. I’ll go place a call right away.”The guard ran inside his office to place the call as if he had received some sort of stimulant before he ran right back out. “Comrade, your boyfriend said he will be right over.”Wen Rugui had been down since his return to the base a week ago.He was disgruntled, but just a little bit unhappy. That was so exhilarating.The guard looked back and forth between the two of them. “This is your girlfriend, Researcher Wen?”Wen Rugui thrusted his chest out and nodded slightly. “Mmhmm, my girlfriend.”The security guard, “Your girlfriend is so pretty. You two make a good couple.”Wen Rugui’s eyes lit up even more. “Thank you.”Tong Xuelu, standing next to him, almost busted out laughing when she saw how he had thrusted his chest out when he said that.Noticing that Tong Xuelu was looking at him, Wen Rugui turned toward her, “Shall we head inside?”Tong Xuelu nodded.Wen Rugui quickly took the things from her hand.Tong Xuelu turned and blinked at him. “Thank you. You are so nice to me.”VOOM.Unsurprisingly.Wen Rugui’s ears turned red again.***As they walked, Wen Rugui gave Tong Xuelu a tour of the base with his ears still red.Granted, he could only show her what was the most basic. He couldn’t show her anything secretive nor did she ask.There were more people around once they have walked inside the main building.When the others saw a girl next to Wen Rugui, and a pretty one at that, everyone’s gossip blood began to boil.They all looked at Tong Xuelu and started whispering to each other.
