『Day Two』
Ten Days (Yaoi BoyXBoy)
Day Two
"Sono hi!" Tomohisa waved at me from the school gates. He was actually early to school today. What a change of heart.
"Uh hey?" I said questionably. This was weird being greeted by someone that isn't your cousin.
"Shall we walk to class together?" He smiles.
"Sure I guess." I awkwardly walked side by side with him. Many stares were thrown at us, but Tomo didn't seem to be bothered by them as I was.
"Tomohisa!" A bunch of girls ran towards him. "So who is your girlfriend now?" They all asked him like wagging ducks. They were practically drooling over him. I was highly jealous.
"Secret." He winks, and they squealed.
"I can't wait until it's my turn." A girl with braids said while blushing mad like a tomato.
"Me too!" The one with a ponytail said.
"I will catch you girls later." Tomo smiles, and waves. He looks back towards me with his nice smile. He's devious. He flirts like a mad man. I can't stand that.
"You do it so easily. It's disturbing." I looked down.
"What do you mean?" He asked me.
"You flirt, and swoon so easily. If I did that, I would be laughed at. Why can't you just be committed?"
"I won't commit if I'm not happy. Right now I'm committed to you." He frowns.
"Wait..." My eyes looked up at him. "Are we like...going out? Like...romantically?" I looked to the side feeling slightly intimidated by him all of the sudden.
"Yes silly." He smiles brightly.
I knew this was only a trial. A trial in a haystack with many of his other trials. I'm just the first guy. I shouldn't get my hopes up, and feel special. I'm probably the ugliest one out of all the people he has dated. He would probably dump me before our ten days is up.
"Something wrong Sono?" He points to my face.
"No nothing. I just don't believe it."
"Well it's only ten days. Then I will set you free." He laughs carelessly. A part of me was hurt. Not because I liked him or anything, but because of the thought of him throwing me away like I was trash.
"Yeah I guess."
"So I can't wait to eat lunch with you." He smiles.
"Will you keep this a secret? You know, because I'm a guy."
He puts his index finger on his lips, and taps his lips a couple times. "Nah I don't think I will."
"Aren't you ashamed?" I frowned.
He looks at me, and his expression was pained. "I got to go to class. Don't overthink much." He walks away.
I guess he is secretly ashamed of being with a fat obese loser like me. I would be too if I was him. I sighed, and went to class.
======
The class before lunch was nerve wrecking. I was a bit scared to see Tomo after I foolishly said what I said earlier. I should of known he was ashamed, and me bringing out the truth may of made him uncomfortable.
The bell rung, and I picked up my things. Kisa looked at me. "I won't be at lunch today."
"Yeah I got it."
"Sorry. My friend really wanted to go to that new kitty cafe. I doubt you would want to come with us."
"It's okay. I actually have someone to eat with today."
Her expression was shocked. "Who? Did you make a new friend?" She looked happy for me.
"Kinda."
"Who?"
"Tomohisa Kazuya."
Her jaw dropped. "That pretty player? Since when did you guys become friends?"
"Well he was in my book club. We briefly talked. Yesterday he just happened to bump into me as I stored away the softballs. He wanted to chat about new books." I lied recklessly, hoping she would buy the bogus story.
"Oh wow. Lucky you. He's hot." She blushes.
"I suppose." I chuckled falsely.
"Well have fun. I'll catch you later cousin." She gets up.
"See you."
I was heading out the door when I saw Tomo already standing there waiting for me. I dropped my glasses case. He must of came right after my cousin left. I was a bit slow at packing up anyway.
"Hey there." He chuckles.
"Oh hey...I'll be just a second."
"Take your time. Do you need me to help you?" He goes over to my glasses case that had fallen on the floor. He kneels down, grabs it, and hands it to me.
"Thanks." I took it. He smelled awfully nice for a guy. He's so charming. I can see why girls like him.
"No problem. Shall we get going to lunch?"
"Sure." I followed him from behind. I was too scared to walk side by side with him.
"Come." He signals me to walk next to him. I slowly walked up next to him. "We should walk together. We are dating."
"Dating?" I still wondered how long this joke will continue.
"Yeah. Don't be silly." He opens the door to the roof, and we went to an available corner where no one was. It was a bit cold today so most people sat inside.
"Aren't you cold?" I asked.
"Not really. I'm thick skinned. Why? Are you?" He looks down at me.
"Not really."
I felt something warm on my shoulders. Tomo gave me his school uniform's jacket.
"Here you go. I can tell you are a bit chilly."
I took it off, and gave it to him. "It doesn't even fit me. Don't be silly. You rascal." I chuckled.
"Ah yeah, but use it as a blanket." He places it back on my shoulders.
I felt embarrassed. I was a clear 250 pounds at 5'6 height. Tomohisa was probably a 160 pound guy that is 6'1. We were an odd match.
"Thanks again." I decided not to fight back, and accepted the jacket.
"No need to thank me." He sits down. "Sit." He pats the space next to him. I sat down.
"So what happens after ten days?" I asked as I took out my bento box.
"I delete, and block their number. I don't acknowledge them from there on."
"What if you fall in love?"
He looks at me. "Fall in love? Who can fall in love in just ten days?"
"Well you never know." I chuckled.
He blinks like a lost puppy. He was cute, but I knew not to grow attach. I will just be one of the many he dumps.
"I guess I won't. What do you got?" He points to my lunch box.
"A mere salad, and one rice ball."
"Why so small? I got a lot of chicken." He opens his box, and he had a large variety of meat with rice.
"I'm not exactly the fittest." I looked down.
"Have some." He takes his chopsticks, and gave me some chicken.
"No it's okay." I pushed it away.
"Come on." He frowns.
"I can't gain more weight."
"I would rather enjoy the luxury of delicious food than be miserable maintaining myself."
"Easy for you to say, you're fit." I scoffed.
"Sorry. I think you are fine the way you are. I think the fat is cute." He points to my cheeks.
"Stop it." I laughed, and covered my face. "You're only saying that because you are my temporary boyfriend."
He chuckles gentle. "Possibly. I do mean it though."
I blushed, and looked down. "Gee thanks Tomo."
"No problem Sono. Our names rhyme. We are meant to be." He sighs with a smile.
"You're silly."
"No you are." He chuckles.
I laughed. We shared conversations, and I was happy. He was a pretty peaceful, and blissful guy to be around. I can't even hate him because of that.
======
Tomo: What are you doing?
Me: Watching tv. I can believe the next season of Zombie Eater won't be out until next month.
Tomo: Aw haha poor you. Don't worry. It will come around soon.
Me: Hey can I ask you something?
Tomo: Sure! Anything!
Me: What do you think of me? Appearance wise, and such? Be honest okay?!
Tomo: Why would you ask such silly things. You are so silly. I think that is my favorite trait about you. Has anyone ever told you that?
Just as I had expected. I had a smile of defeat. He avoided my question to avoid hurting me.
Me: I guess that is your answer huh?
Tomo: You are fine just the way you are. Trust me.
He's lying. He's a smooth liar. Tomo could say almost anything, and anyone would fall for it. Anyone even myself. I sighed.
Me: Thanks I guess. You're not very honest.
Tomo: Haha you don't know that.
Me: Do you think I'm handsome?
Tomo: Yes.
He's smooth. Real smooth. I chuckled at his small lies. I am nowhere close to being handsome.
Me: You got jokes.
Tomo: You too.
Was he indirectly saying I was a joke by asking if I'm handsome? How rude.
Me: Rude.
Tomo: No I'm not. You're silly.
Me: You aren't a good boyfriend.
Tomo: How can I be better for you?
Me: Does it matter? We only have ten days.
Tomo: It does matter. I want to make the best of these ten days.
Me: You are really weird dude. I will see you later.
I shut off my phone. He doesn't get how making the ten days a pure fantasy can hurt someone. He's so stupid.
I laid my head down, and looked up at my plain cream colored ceiling. It was plain just like my life. Tomo has been one of those specs that happened to happened. I guess it benefits me in a way. I can get a taste of how being in a relationship can be like. It is slightly different since he's a guy, but it would have to do for now.
We started dating on Monday. Now it's Tuesday. Tomorrow will be Wednesday. I have basically eight more days to go. I wonder how I would feel after the ten days expire. Would I feel sorrow? Will I feel like I've accomplished something? Will I get more self confidence after this whole ordeal?
I decided to turn my phone back on. I felt I left abruptly, and he didn't deserve that. I heard my phone buzz once. I guess he replied.
Tomo: Are you mad at me? Is everything okay?
Me: No nothing. I'm just overthinking.
Tomo: Oh you are back! I thought you had ignored me because you were angry.
Me: Kinda was.
Tomo: Why?
Me: It's nothing.
Tomo: How about we ditch school tomorrow, and go have lunch at that sushi place that opened near the school?
Me: I have a book club meeting. Maybe you should come join us for once.
Tomo: I don't want to. Sorry.
Me: Why?
Tomo: I will tell you if you decide to ditch with me tomorrow.
Me: Fine. I'll see you tomorrow.
I knew it was a foolish move, but I did want to enjoy my ten days. I did want to feel the experience of how it will be like. I guess I'll see you tomorrow Tomohisa.
