Chapter 161
To her surprise, she couldnât sniff a walt of Lanaâs perfume.
Lana loved spraying a generous amount of perfume en herself, making it so strong that it could be smelled from several yards away. When she stayed at Larissaâs house. Larissaâs clothes had been infused with the scent of her pertume, and every day she would receive questions about what perfume she was wearing.
II Kevan had driven Lana back, he would have been tainted with her perfume as they would have spent a long time together in the confined space of a car.
âYou two have such a good relationship. Iâm jealous! Looking at their embrace. Lanaâs smile stened.
âYou have a good relationship with Mr. Hermes ton, Miss Seymour.â Despite Kevanâs polite tone, his answer seemed insincere.
Lana forced herself to smile at his perfunctory response.
âHave you made up with Lucas? Larissa asked as the thought came into her mind.
After hesitating for a moment, Lana answered, âNot exactly. Itâs all one-sided. Heâs been pestering me, and I canât get rid of him.â Sounding distressed, Lana chewed on her lips.
âIs that so?â Kevan asked with a smile. However, his gaze was stony. âI remember seeing you getting into Luca sâs car a lew lines when he picked you up, so I thought you two had reconciled.â
Lana didnât expect him to have witnessed those moments nor did she expect him to expose her be. In the span of a few moments, her face paled before turning a deep shade of red.
âWell⦠it I donât get in his car, heâd keep following me and itâd be annoying. That was the lame excuse she could offer.
âAlright, I see Kevan nodded. âI see him looking for you again. Iâll call the police for you.â
Atraid to make eye contact with Kevan, she lowered her head, mumbling. âOkay, then thank Mr. Rogers in advance.â
Upon entering the elevator, Kevan pressed the button for floor 19, while Lana pressed the one for foor 27. After Lana hac moved out of her house, Larissa never saw her in the building again. Although she knew that Lana lived in the same building as her, sheâd never known which floor she stayed on.
Finally, she learned that Lana lived on the 27th floor. However, that wasnât the locus of her attention-
she was surprised that Kevan didnât press the button for his floor, She couldnât ask him in front of Lana as it would give away their secret
As soon as she separated from Kevanâs embrace, Lana held her arm and clung to her.
âI am free tomorrow. Larissa. You and Mr. Rogers should come to my place in the evening. My roommate and I will c ock for you,â
While Kevan didnât know about Lanaâs cooking skills, Larissa knew all too well
âIâm not sure when I be back tomorrow.â With that, she politely declined Lanaâs invitation.
âSorry, Iâm not free,â said Kevan, following suil.
Lanaâs face immediately fell,
âTwe been living here for so long, and you havenât asked about me at all!â she whined, pouting as she complained to Larissa. âYou havenât asked if Iâm doing well at work or if Iâm doing okay! Now you wonât even come to my place for dinner! Have you never considered me your sister?
Her sudden outburst of tears caught Larissa off guard. She spoke the truth, so Larissa couldnât argue with her.
At that moment Kevan stepped in between the two of them, pulling Lanaâs hand away from Larissa.
âHave you ever cared about your sister who has been alone in Covenlord for so many years? Have you ever asked her if her work is going well or now sheâs doing?â
Pulling Lanssa into a hug, he stared coldly at Lana
âYou should ask yourself first if youâve ever treated her as your sister,
