Chapter 347
Sweet Subterfuge
âAnd?â Kevan patiently waited for him to continue.
âI think â Lana is cheating on me.â Lucas pressed his lips together lightly as a hint of melancholy flickered through his eyes.
Kevan chortled. âWhat has Lana cheating on you got to do with me? Are you perhaps hoping that I would help you gain some kind of Justice?â
âNo!â Lucas denied it at once. âThe point is not that she cheated on me, but who sheâs cheated on me withâ He lifted his head and secretly peeked at Kevan. When his gaze met Kevanâs sharp one, he looked down again. âThe one sheâs cheating on me with seems to be Ruby Coleâs husband.â
Kevanâs gaze became cold. âWhy are you telling me this?
âI saw the news.â Lucas began to stammer, âAbout you and Ruby I thought âYou thought I was cheating with Ruby?â Kevan asked with a strange smile that was not quite a smile on his face, but his voice was dangerously trigid.
Lucas was so scared that he jerked once. His voice was smaller than ever. âN-No His head was lowered further.
âIl I really had cheated with Ruby, what is your purpose in telling me this?â Kevan asked again.
âShouldnât I be happy that Lana and Cody got together?â
With his reminder, Lucas finally got his logic all sorted out. He had not really thought too deeply into it.
Maybe this matter delivered quite a huge blow to him that it left his brain in a muddled state for the most part. He only knew that Lana was cheating on him with Rubyâs husband, and Ruby seemed to have that kind of relationship with Kevan, which was why instinctually thought that he should let Kevan know about this.
âMy apologies!â Lucas said with guilt. âItâs my fault for wasting your valuable timeââ
Kevan did not say that he accepted nor refused his apology, he just asked. âDo you have anything else youâd like to say?â
Lucas shook his head hard. âNo! Iâm finished.â
âThen leave.â Kevan said. âToday never happened, and you will not tell anyone that you came here.â
Watching Lucas leave hurriedly with a look of anxiety on his face. Larissaâs suspicions grew. After Kevan dismissed the driver, she could not help but ask him, âWhat did Lucas find you for?â
âNothing.â Kevan sat next to her, his long legs comfortably stacked on the coffee table as he loosened his tie before turning to ask her,â You went to my momâs today?â
Larissa was stunned before she retorted, âHow did you know? Did Mom call you?â
Kevan chortled, âI do still recognize my momâs driver.â Besides, Larissa had changed out of her usual casual wear and was dressed a little formally, so she definitely went out.
Larissa finally reacted. She nodded.
âWhat did you go there for?â Kevanâs gaze swept across the boxes of supplements on the floor. âIt canât have been just as simple as getting all of that nonsense back, can it?â
Larissa had just been about to use this as an excuse to ludge things over with him. Sensing her thoughts, Kevanâs smile grew bigger event as the mockery deepened too If itâs just for this, my mom would deliver it in person to you. She would have not made someone like you with reduced mobility to specially go over.â He still knew Violet well to some degree. âYouâd better tell me the truth, or I will go to my momâs and ask her.â He threatened her in a low voice.
Larissa gave up trying to think of excuses. was not as it todayâs events were something that she could not say anyway.
*My mom and Lana went to your momâs to create trouble. Because of the news about you and Ruby, my mom wanted us to get divorced.*
Those two. It seemed that they had not yet leamed their lesson.
