Chapter 441
Sweet Subterfuge
Violet had long since guessed that Kevan would rever marry Ruby. He only lost his memory, but his personality had never changed. Without the wonderful memories of the past, the basis of a relationship was lost. He would only treat Ruby the same way he treated female strangers. But she thought that he would at least try to get along with Ruby for Bethanyâs sake. To be honest thoughâthe current circumstances were just what Violet hoped for.
She did not like Ruby. She never did. Otherwise, she would not have prevented Ruby From marrying into the family all these years.
âFine.â Violet agreed. âBut youâre still Bethanyâs lather, you should take some time to come and see her.â
She loved her granddaughter and did not want her to grow up in an environment where she did not have the love of her parents.
âI know.â Kewan teplied coldly.
After leaving the hospital, he went straight to Larissaâs home. He received information from Dylan that Larissa had already picked Aster up from the Academy. However, he waited for quite a while belore she and Aster got home. They had all kinds of shopping bags in their hands, and there were happy smiles on their faces.
Kevan could not stop himself from lighting a cloarette. The piercing smell of smoke barely managed to prevent his urge of dashing over to confess to everything.
Thope you can keep y Kevanâs heart ached.
your word.â Larissa stared at him. her gaze calm and cold.
âOf course âHe smiled faintly Tightening her grip on the door handle, Larissa asked him, âIs there anything else?â
Kevanâs gaze went past her and landed in the living room behind her.
âIs Aster asleep?â
Larissa was just about to say âyes,â when the sound of hurried footsteps could be heard from behind.
âMommy Mommy! Aster exclaimed happily, âLook! Do look like Iron Man?
He had already eagerly changed into the new set of iron Man clothes that she had just bought for him.
When he saw Kevan standing at the door, Asterâs eyes brightened up and his voice grew louder. âUncle Kevan! Look! Iâm Iron Man! He pulled up with extreme pride.
Kevanâs face softened considerably, and his eyes had a much more genuine smile to them. âHow handsome! he complimented the child with sincerity. âJust like the real Iron Man!â
Aster giggled as he reached out for Kevanâs hand and dragged him inside. âMommy bought me so many figurines today, Come, Uncle Kewant! show you!â
Kevan readily entered the house.
Annoyed, Larissa thought, âItâs time to emphasize some rules with Aster. He canât just drag people into the house!â
Kevan followed Aster into his room. There was a lur rug on the floor next to the bed. There were all sorts of toys and childrenâs books on the rug. This was probably Asterâs recreational space.
As expected, he dropped his rump onto the rug and showed Kevan every single toy that was bought today.
Kevan listened attentively to him, occasionally giving him some responses.
The door was alar, and there was a narrow crack that rissa could use to secretly peek into the room.
Both occupants were amazingly getting along harmoniously. Kewanâs gaze on Aster was gente, and his voice when speaking was also ridiculously gentle. Unsuspecting people may think that they were actually lather and sci.
