Chapter 685
Sweet Subterfuge
The matter of Andrew suggesting stocks was found out immediately.
âInsider trading was illegal. Also, he was so obvious about it.
Andrewâs superior knew nothing about the higherâupsâ games.
The superior fired Andrew at once and even called the police.
The police had already begun to investigate, and they were currently at the stage of looking for evidence.
The main person in charge only found out about all this from his subordinate when Kevan came over.
âMy apologies, Mr. Rogers.â He carefully apologized, âI didnât successfully keep an eye on him.â
âItâs his own problem,â Kevan naturally did not think that Andrew would have maintained good behavior just because someone was watching him. After all a leopard could not change its spots.
âWork well with the police in their investigation. Give them whatever they want.â Kevan paused before adding a stern warning. âDo not break the rules ever again.â
The main person in charge quickly agreed. âYes, we definitely wonât!â
Once Kevan received the news that the reporters had been all chased away, he went to Winston Hotel.
He did not dare to be as obvious as beforeâthere were many guests at the hotel so it was easy for his pictures to be taken. He went straight up to Larissaâs floor from the basement parking lot. There was practically no one else living on this floor. Relaxing a little. Kevan rang the doorbell A little while later, Lewis sharp voice sounded from behind the door. âWho is it?â
Kevan replied loudly. âItâs me,â like he was scared that Lewis would not recognize him.
Once he had confirmed Kevanâs identity through the peephole. Lewis finally unlocked the door and let Kevan in.
âI was just going to find you.â Lewis murmured so Larissa would not hear him. âWhat is happening?â
Kevan closed the door behind him but did not respond to Lewis question. He peered inside the room and asked. âHowâs Larissa? Is she okay?â
âHer fever is gone, and her mood isnât too bad.â Other than the time when Janine appeared, Lewis did not note any big emotional changes from Larissa. In other words, she was very calm.
Kevan relaxed a little. âWhen are you two going back to Aldovia?â he asked again.
âOnce Iâm sure that Lariâs illness wonât come back, weâll leave.â
Lewis had originally wanted to let Larissa stay for a little while longer to fix whatever it was she had with Kevan. But after that whole mess. Lewis was scared that more trouble would come to find them, so it was better to leave.
âOkay.â Kevan pushed down his sadness and reluctance. âIs Larissa awake? Iâd like to talk to her.â
âShe never slept after coming back from the hospital.â Worry Nashed across Lewisâ eyes. âGo on. Oh, by the way-âHe suddenly caught onto Kevanâs sleeve. âIf she asks, say that you came here yoursell. It has nothing to do with me.â
Kevan glanced at the hand that was clutching his sleeve, and he frowned slightly. But he still replied politely, âOkay.â
âIs it the reporters? Larissa asked without even looking up when she heard the sound of the door opening. However, in the next second, a voice that was not Lewisâ sounded. âItâs me.â
Larissaâs heart skipped a beat, and her hands that were holding her phone also jolted once.
âNo.â Compared to her, Kevan was calmer. He stood at the fool of her bed and gazed down at her.
âLarissa, I want to talk to you.â
