Lewis kept their retum a secret. Thus, Gary didn’t know that Lewis and Larissa had flown back to Aldovia, let alone the news of them going to Gary’s company.

“Mr. Lewis is here to see you with a lady.”

Gary was stunned when his secretary informed him about the sudden guests. He assumed that Lewis came to visit him with a girlfriend. hence the anticipation.

However, the moment he noticed Larissa, his anticipation turned into a pleasant surprise.

“Why didn’t you inform me earlier about your retum? I could’ve asked someone to take you from the airport,” he complained to Lewis.

Gary glared at her, but he couldn’t bring himself to scold her for that. He bypassed his desk and asked concemedly. “How do you feel?”

“Good.” She seated herself on the couch, hiding her bandaged hand as implicit as possible.

Gary checked on her from the head to the toe several times. He caressed her cheek and sighed.

“You’re thinner. Your putty cheeks are gone.”

She smiled Jillily. “It’s probably ‘cause I’ve been helping Yvelte out I didn’t have the time to get a good rest.”

His eyes darkened at the mention of Yvette. Larissa failed to read his feeling switch of emotion.

“Is everything settled down?” Gary inquired.

“Yeah.” She nodded. “I chose her a place with a nice view. It’s not that expensive. I bet she coesn’t like it.”

“That’s generous of you.” He sat next to her and palted her hand in comfort At that moment, he noticed her wrist, which she deliberately hid with her sleeve. He pulled her hand and rolled up her sleeve. Worried, he questioned, “What happened?”

Lewis became nervous almost instantly. On the contrary, she appeared rather calm. “Someone wanted to kidnap me.”

Gary’s face fell, “Who?”

“A small fry. We handed him over to the police.” Lew’s chipped in. “But we still don’t know who the mastermind is.”

“Do you have someone over there to keep track of the Investigation? Gary asked sternly, “No. Mr. Rogers keeping an eye on the situation.” Lewis was feeling guilly and afraid that he might infuriate Gary.

As he had expected, Gary roared. “Why is that guy everywhere? Is he her shadow or what? Why does he keep following Larissa around?!”

Larissa covered her ears to protect her hearing.

Lewis lowered his head while praying for Kevan, Pursuing Larissa was a difficult journey with multiple hurdles. He wondered if Kevan was able to put up with it until the end “I was saved thanks to him,” she said while motioning for Lewis to help her out.

The latter added. “That’s right. Mr. Rogers sensed something was off. That’s why we managed to catch the kidnapper.”

Still, it did not made Gary feel better at all. He stared at Lewis and interrogated, “Where were you at that time?”
