Chapter 764
Sweet Subterfuge
Larissa stood there as she thought about it for two minutes. Eventually, she still walked in with her cup.
A group of women were having a little meeting in front of the coffee machine in the pantry.
Larissa asked politely with a smile on her face, âCould you guys excuse me for a bit?â
The chattering stopped at once.
The women let her pass while looking away from her or touching something else. They could not have made their guilt more obvious.
Judy studied Larissaâs expression carefully. Seeing that there was nothing odd about her. Judy simply assumed that Larissa did not hear anything.
âThe coffeeâs not ready yet, so weâre all waiting here.â Judy took the initiative to talk to Larissa, Her voice was sweet, like they were friends for many years.
âOh,â Larissa politely responded. âThen Iâll come by later.â She was about to leave when Judy grabbed her arm.
âIs the coffee for yourself, or is it for Mr. Logan Junior?â Judy stared at Larissaâs mug. A flash of jealousy appeared in her eyes.
Larissa figured it out the moment she followed Judyâs gaze-
This mug was given to her by Lewis yesterday. She had no idea where he got it from because it looked exactly the same as the one on his table. So, Judy had misunderstood.
But Larissa did not bother to explain. Because no matter what she said, her colleagues will only think that she was trying to find an excuse.
âItâs for mysellâ she said.
Judyâs grip on her arm tightened, but she was still smiling as she said. âYou can leave the mug here, darling. Iâll give it to you once the coffee is ready.â
Larissa felt a little grossed out as she looked at Judyâs fake smile. Even if Judy was willing to pour coffee for her, Larissa would never dare to drink it. What if something interestingâ was added to her mug?
âThanks, but that wonât be necessary.â Larissa tightened her grip on her mug and forced a smile.
âThere probably isnât enough coffee for all of you. Iâll wait for the next round.â
The companyâs coffee machine was not big. One round of coffee could only fill up five cups. There were seven people in the pantry right Î ÎÎ¥, Larissa thought that she could use this excuse to leave, but Judy refused to let her go.
âItâs alright, we can all pour a little less and totally make sure thereâs enough for two extra cups,â Judy said and reached out to snatch Larissaâs mug.
Larissa was trapped by Judyâs grip, so she was not able to avoid her even if she tried to. Judy successfully stole the mug from her and deliberately smashed it on the floor, though she pretended like she dropped it by accident.
The mug was now in pieces. The women screamed as they avoided the mess, including Judy, the person who started it all. She backed up more than a foot away from the pieces.
Larissa was the only one who remained there. After being stunned for a moment, she crouched down to pick up the big pieces to throw Into the trash can.
âSorry, Larissa, darling. My hand slipped.â Judy apologized, but the triumphant smile was obvious.
âWhere did you buy this cup? I buy another for you!
Larissa was enraged, but she could not lash out as Judy was a colleague that she would have to work with for a long time.
âItâs fine.â Larissa maintained her fake smile. She did her best to hide her rage. âIâll get the janitors to clean up. Be careful, you guys, donât louch it.â
There was only one Janitor on every floor. She was currently cleaning in front of Lewis office. When Larissa went to get her, Lewis âWhat happened in the pantry?â he asked curiously,
