Chapter 819
Sweet Subterfuge
Raising his hand, Kevan ruffled Asterâs hair. Aster grabbed onto his arm and climbed into his lap.
âWhen are you two getting married? Where will you get married? When you marry, will you invite many guests, like on TV? Should I invite my classmates?
is initially excited.
âBut Iâve seen that in dramas, kids arenât allowed to attend weddingsâDoes that mean I canât go either?â Aster, who was deflated instantly when he said this.
His childish reasoning brought laughter to the three adults present.
âOf course you can attend. You can invite your classmates if you wish. However, we have not set a date for our wedding. You might need to wait for a while.â Kevan had always been patient with Aster.
âAlright then.â Aster seemed a little disappointed. Soon, he asked, âWill you be having your wedding in Westonia or Bartham? If it is in Bartham, can I invite my classmates there? Besides, will we stay at Bartham in the future? Am I going to transfer schools to Bartham?â
Kevan had yet to discuss these things with Larissa. Naturally, he couldnât give Aster a definite answer.
âWell, we had not decided where the wedding would be. Where would you like it to be held?â K Kevan threw the question back to Aster.
âI want it to be in both places! That way, I can invite all my classmates! I miss my friends back in Bartham. I wonder if they miss me too.â
Excitement filled Asterâs eyes as he imagined how his parentsâ wedding would be.
Kevan turned to Larissa. âWhat do you think?â
In Larissaâs opinion, she had no plans of holding a wedding. She had gone through a wedding once.
Although that marriage was a failure. at least she had fulfilled her dreams as a teenage girl. She had no intention of going through it a second time. The reason was that weddings were too damn exhausting!
However, Kevan and Aster looked forward to having a wedding. Larissa could not bear to dampen their spirits at this point.
She ate her breakfast and said indifferently. âLetâs think about it later. Thereâs no rush.â
Since they had agreed not to publicize their relationship for now, there wouldnât be a wedding anytime soon. During this period, she could slowly persuade both father and son to give up on having a wedding.
âAlright.â Kevan dropped the topic immediately.
Now that Larissa finally took a step in his direction, he didnât want to ruin the harmonious atmosphere they had finally achieved. Furthermore, he didnât want to scare Larissa off by pressuring her.
âIf you are not in a hurry for a wedding, how about getting a marriage certificate? Since you have decided to marry, you must register for marriage, right? Will you be registering here in Aldovia or back in Caldor?â Wendy asked.
âBack in Caldor. Once my work settles down, I will make time to go on a trip.â Larissa could answer this question, at least.
âThat doesnât sound very sincere! Youâve only just started your job here. He will have to wall at least half a year to ten months for you to settle down.
âI think you should return to Caldor this weekend and get the manlage certificate as soon as possible.
Your father and Lewis wouldnât scold you even if you take a day or two off work, Wendy reprimanded Larissa with a frown.
Larissa glared at her. âDo you think Iâm that mean?â
Wendy nodded very slightly.
Larissa kicked her under the table. âGet lost!â
âWatch your language! There is a child present!â Wendy dodged and pointed at Aster, reminding Larissa. Sulking, Larissa retracted her foot.
âIt was my idea to delay our trip.â Kevan took the blame for Larissa. âI still have some matters to deal with in Caldor. Itâs not yet time to bring Lari and Aster back.â
Wendy didnât say anything.
It must be for Larissaâs and Asterâs safety that he did not want to bring them back to Caldor for now.
âWell if youâre getting married, does that mean you will move in together?â Wendy asked again.
âAbout this Larissa hadnât thought of this question yet.
âOf course,â Kevan answered firmly.
