Chapter 846
Sweet Subterfuge
Because of the topic that Kevan raised. Larissa had nightmares for the whole night.
In the nightmare, she was back to the days when she was pregnant and helpless.
She went through the experience of struggling with whether or not she wanted the child again. But this time. Wendy was not with her.
When Larissa woke up in the morning, her pillow had a big wet stain on it. It was super obvious on the light blue pillowcase.
Afraid that people might see, Larissa purposely charged out the sheets and pillowcases, washed them, and hung them out on the balcony to dry.
It was to the point that Aster saw it after waking up, and he exclaimed, âMommy! Did you wet your bed?â
Larissa did not want to talk to her stupid son.
After she prepared breakfast, she grabbed her keys to leave the house.
âIâm going to pick up your uncle.â
Because Larissa had a kid at home. Lewis arranged for the extra lessons to be held at Larissaâs place in order to make things convenient for her.
Lewisâ car was parked outside the building. When he saw Larissa, Lewis gave her a paper box while he picked up the other one himself. The box was a bit heavy, and Larissa asked, âWhat is this?â
Lewis jerked his chin at her box and said, âDocuments.â Then, he pointed at his own box. âStuff I bought for Aster.â
âDidnât I already say to stop buying things for Aster?!â Larissa complained. âHe doesnât need anything else, and there are too many toys at home already!â
There were still many toys from the huge bunch of loys that Gary and Lewis bought for Aster that were still wrapped in their original packaging.
Lewis always ignored Larissaâs words, and he would also retort like he was the reasonable one. âI hardly come by.â
When Larissa moved, she brought Lewisâ and Garyâs slippers over here too.
Lewis changed his shoes and stared at the shoe rack that took up the whole wall.
âWhat are you looking at?â Larissa waved a hand in front of him.
Lewis looked away. âChecking if Aster still has enough shoes.â
Larissa angrily emphasized again, âHe doesnât lack anything! If you buy anything I will fucking throw it out!â
âYeah, yeah, yeah,â Lewis fudging was obvious.
Aster had only finished hall his breakfast. When he heard the noise at the door, he ran over and called, âUncle Lewisââ
Lewis picked Aster up and spun around with him in his arms. Then he opened up his paper box like he was offering up the rarest treasure and told the kid. âAll yours.â
Aster let out an exclamation of shock, then he hugged Lewis and kissed him several times. âThank you.
Uncle Lewis!â
Lewis smiled kindly at the kid. Larissa watched it all, and she suddenly had a strong sense of duty.
She had to help Lewis find a good partner and make sure he got married and had his own kid!
Larissa told Aster to play by himself outside while she and Lewis entered the study to work.
at the company.
The study in the new apartment was bigger than the one in the old apartment. It was almost as big as Lewisâ office at the Lewis looked around and simply pulled out a chair to siL âThis place is pretty good.â He said, âYou must have spent quite the money, huh?â Larissa nearly spat out the water she had just drunk. Adjusting her breathing, Larissa answered honestly. âI donât know. Kevan bought it.â The apartment looked pretty expensive. Based on her pay grade, she could never ever buy such a place even if she worked her whole life. So, she had no need to make a weak lie that could be disproven by others easily.
âMr. Rogers bought this place to give it to you?â Lewis asked again.
