Fix You

William

The rest of the week didn't get much better. Randomly, everything would hit me like a bus.

Once or twice, I saw him at lunch and my heart would begin to ache. How could someone so good looking be so cruel to me?

My eating hasn't been doing well this past week either. I'm back down to 111 and I planned to get lower. So I guess that's good...

Everything is just crumbling again. My friends all found out and weren't too happy. I just shrugged it off as if it didn't hurt me.

My family have been trying to cheer me up. My sisters would offer to watch movies or go out, just do something, but I always declined their offers guiltily.

I decided that I would at least try and make myself feel a little better.

I texted Nicholas and asked him to meet me at the skate park whenever. He happily agreed.

I decided to walk instead of driving there. I needed the excersize and it was a nice night out.

My body felt very weak, though. But I just waved it off as I walked.

Soon, the park came to view and a rush of relief washed over me. I could've just ran to it, but I didn't.

I open the gate, searching for anybody here. My eyes landed on Nicholas, who was on his skateboard, trying to do some type of simple trick on it.

"Hi."

He looked up, a smile growing on his face. "Oh, hey." Slowly, he got off the skateboard, grabbing it. "Wanna try? I got a little better at it, not by much though."

I laugh, shaking my head, "nah, I'm alright. Glad you got better."

"Have you been doing alright?" Nick questions, cocking his head to the side. "We haven't talked in a while and I wanted to make sure you were fine."

I sigh as I shrug, "just a rough patch, I guess. Sorry I haven't talked to you, I didn't mean to push you away.

He nodded in understanding, leaning against the structure.  "It's okay, do you want to talk about it? That might help. You don't have to talk about everything. Just whatever you want."

Talking it all out seemed fine. Everything has been building up and I could hardly handle it.

"Well, first of all, my mental health has been shitty lately. My family is worried about me. I got cheated on and was used for sex. I'm stressed out about school. I don't know what the hell to even do anymore."

I just huff, feeling better with just giving a summary of what's wrong instead of going into details.

"Well," Nick started, licking his pink lips. "I'm not the best at giving advice, but hopefully his can help."

I shrug, figuring that no one could really help.

"Just remember to take care of yourself." He reminded me with a smile. "Make sure you're eating and drinking enough. Remember to take a shower and get your sleep. Spend time with family. Don't beat yourself up when you're feeling sad, unmotivated, or overwhelmed.

He paused for a moment, looking down. "Just  remember that it's a bad day or week, things will get a little better. Just cherish good times like spending time with family or friends."

I took every single word Nicholas said into consideration. I realize that whenever things are going downhill, I forget to take care of myself or appreciate everything.

I send Nicholas a smile, "thank you... Thank you so much." His eyes widened in surprise. "No one really ever gives me useful help. It's always 'stay positive' or 'wait til it gets better'. So thank you so much."

"Glad I could help." He grins, his bright, white teeth glistening in the moon light.

Before I could reply or react, my head began to pound and I felt light headed. The world spun, causing me to wobble as I blinked, trying to regain myself.

"Are you alright?" I place my hand against a wall, placing my hand on my aching head, hoping my cold hand could soothe it.

"I just feel really dizzy." Nick pressed the back of his hand against my forehead, a frown forming on his face. "I'm fine, I just-"

I paused as my body weakened, my body relying on the wall for support.

"Are you sick?" Nick asked, holding me up straighter. I shake my head, which only made me more dizzy. "You look pale. Have you eaten today? Drank anything?"

No, I haven't eaten hardly anything and kept it in my stomach all week. I constantly forget to drink water. "Not that I remember."

"You haven't... Is your home life alright? Is your parentd starving you...?"

Why would he wonder that? "No, of course not! I guess I forgot to eat properly this week."

Nicholas mumbled an, "oh," as he stepped back. "Follow me, I'm taking you to my house."

I furrow my brows, "why?"

"So you can eat something. Unless you want to go to your house and explain to your parents why you're dizzy and pale."

Listen to the pretty boy, everyone would be up your ass if they saw you like this.

I just sigh in defeat, agreeing. Nicholas dragged me by the arm towards the gate of the park, glancing back at me as he walked.

"Slow down, Daddy Long alegs." (I once called someone this just as an excuse to call them "daddy" O_O)

Nicholas smirks, yanking me closer, "sorry, Shorty." He grabs keys from his pocket, pulling me through the empty parking lot. "Did you know that a women once put cut up Daddy Long Leg spiders into her husband's food and killed him?"

Why the hell would I randomly know that?! "How'd it kill him?"

"They're poisonous, if you eat them. They can't hurt you if they bite you because they have tiny mouths." He informed me while clicking a button the keys to unlock the doors.  "Pretty neat, huh?"

"That's useful information... I should tell my sister, she has a lot of ex's."

Nicholas gasped, opening the passenger door. "We could kill the guy that cheated on you!"

"We really should." I agree with a short giggle, my head pounding. Nicholas shut the door before he went to the driver's side. "Wouldn't your mom be upset that you're bringing someone over that she's never met?"

He shrugs, "nah, she knows about you. She doesn't care if I bring people over randomly, as long as I've told her about them. Happens all the time." (Nick sounds like a hoeಠ_ಠ. I didn't mean to do you like this Nick)

"You've talked about me?"

Nick nods, "I mean... I've been to your house, so I'm pretty sure she knows at least your name." Oh, right. I'm a dumbass. "Are you feeling better?"

I shrug, "kinda. Just very light headed. Standing didn't help much." He nods, pulling out of the lot. "Thank you... For doing this... You really don't have to and I'm sorry that I'm always needing your help and it seems like I only talk to you when I need something. I swear, I don't try and do that. I'm sorry if I make it-"

"Will." He interrupted with a chuckle. "I don't think of you as that. It's okay to get help from someone."

"I just feel awful... I push you away and then whenever we are with each other, there's always something wrong with me. I'm sorry that I'm likes this and you might think I'm an awful person."

Nicholas patted my knee in a comforting manner. "Stop worrying, Will. You aren't an awful person at all. People go through rough spots in life and don't realize that they push people away. You aren't a bad person."

"I think that I am and-"

"Stop." He spoke, letting out a small laugh. "Stop worrying and apologizing." I just huff, nodding. "Is there a reason you haven't eaten at all this week?"

My ex used me, I hate myself and my body. I've been so miserable all week that I didn't care about even trying to eat enough for energy.

"It's just been a bad week. I didn't think about eating much." Nick glanced at me, concern written on his face.

"Does this happen often? You forget to eat and/or drink?" I don't really forget, I just avoid it. I shrug in reply. "I'm taking that as a yes."

"I didn't say yes."

"You didn't say no either." He pointed out, pulling into his driveway. "I'm not going to make you eat something heavy on an empty stomach. Something light that will help you gain your energy back."

He turned off his vehicle, his eyes meeting mine again. I nodded, whispering a small, "okay" before I unbuckled.

Once I stepped into Nicholas warm house, the sweet scent of vanilla filled my nose. I felt so grateful to have a nose, instantly inhaling another long breath.

"Mom!" Nick yells, peaking his head into a room. "Wha... What are you doing?"

"Yoga!" A cheerful voice beamed with a sweet laugh. "It's very relaxing, you should try it!"

"Uh." Nicholas scratched the back of his neck, "I brought William over... I don't think you want him to see you in only a bra, Mom."

"Nicholas!" His mom scolds from the room, a giggle escaping my lips. "I'll be right back." A door slams and Nicholas sucked air in between his teeth, clicking his tongue.

"C'mon." He nodded for me to follow him, which I quickly did. He took me into a large, tidy kitchen. I scanned the room, admiring it. "Do you like apple juice?"

My eyes shifted to Nick, who was standing at the fridge with a small cup, "yes." He nods, pouring the liquid. "I like your kitchen. The signs are cool."

Nicholas looked at the wall, "oh, thanks. My mom made them. Here." He places the cup on the counter. "Do-"

Suddenly, a body slams into mine, arms squeezing me. I almost screamed at the sudden impact.

"You're so cute! Oh my gosh!"

"Mom! You could've killed him!"

I laugh, my arms wrapping around the women that was hugging me tightly. My breath grew short quickly.

"Mom, you're crushing him! He needs to stay in one piece!" Nicholas scowls playfully at his mother.

The body soon releases me, allowing me to breath properly. "Oops."

My eyes landed on the young women, my lips twitching into a smile. She was stunning and young. Only an inch or so shorter than me.

Based on her features, she had the same hazel eyes as Nicholas and possibly the same nose. Very similar energy as him too.

"Aren't you just a little cutie. I could pinch your little cheeks all day long!" She sang, poking her finger into my cheek. "I'm Brynn, it's so great to finally meet you!"

Before I could reply, she spoke again.

"Oh, dear, you look sick. Are you alright?" Brynn frowns, feeling my forehead. "Are you feeling okay?"

"A little dizzy, that's all." I sent her an assuring smile, hoping it would brighten her face. Instead, she just  studied me.

"Mom. Go do your yoga, please." Nicholas suggested, sending his mom a smile. Her eyes lingered on me as she left the kitchen. "Sorry, she drinks a lot of coffee at night."

I chuckle, waving it off, "I like her." Nicholas hands me the cup of juice, going back to the fridge. I thank him, sipping on the sweet juice. My eyes danced around the room until they landed on the microwave, reading the time. "Oh. It's late..."

"It's Friday, do you think your mom is fine with you staying here late?" Nicholas asked while grabbing things from the fridge. "I just want to make sure you're okay..."

"I can just text her and tell her that I ran into you."

I watched as Nicholas worked around the kitchen, sipping on the juice. I already felt 10 times better, probably because of the sugar.

It was quite satisfying to feel the coldness in my empty stomach.

Nicholas placed a plate on the table, sitting down in the seat next to it. "You don't have to eat it all, but I want you to eat enough to feel better."

I plopped into the seat, gazing at the plate of food. It was half of a sandwich, string cheese, apple slices, and a few crackers.

"Thank you." I repeated, looking back at Nicholas, who was drinking a can of coke. He places the can down, a smile on his lovely face.

I love the name Nicholas and William so much, I've always wanted to make my kids these two name. They are just so beautiful but simple and cute and ahhhhhh
