Chapter 14

Shide's POV

I woke up to Zack shaking my shoulder with a big smile on his face.

"Shide..!! My mom called this morning, she told me that the university committee had a meeting regarding Akira's offence and they've decided to rusticate him for good. She said they were very concerned regarding the university's defamation if more students indulged in this kind of behaviour, thus Akira's act is unforgivable to set an example for everyone else"

"That's great news, did you tell Shuyi yet?"

"No, not yet. I want to surprise him when we go back to the campus today!"

"Finally, that jerk will get what he deserves"

"Exactly, also once he's gone, you both won't need to act like a couple anymore, you can get back to your lives again, right?"

I'm so glad Shuyi is no longer going to live under constant threat, but will things change between both of us after Akira leaves?  It pains my heart to even imagine not being close to him anymore, not being able to be right by his side like this anymore. Ahh...! I'm thinking too much, we'll still live under the same roof everyday, I'm sure nothing will change.

Shuyi's POV

Zack has been talking to Shide for a while now, when did they get so close?

"Shuyi, you wanna come and help us cut the vegetables for breakfast?" Yuxin said waving at me.

"Sure, I can try..."

She handed me a knife and some tomatoes to chop, even though I had no idea what I was gonna do with them since back at home mom did all the cooking, and here in Bangkok, Shide never let me near the kitchen. I started trying to chop the tomatoes anyway.

"Hey careful, don't hold your knife like this, you will hurt yourself" Someone said from my back. Before I could turn to look, he held my hands from the back and chopped the tomato.

I turned around a little stunned.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you, I just didn't want you to injure your pretty hands with the knife"

I just gave him an awkward smile since I wasn't sure what to reply to that.

"Oh you two have already met. Shuyi, this is my cousin Xiong Yue. He's a music department fresher in our university."

I nodded a little and smiled at him.

"Nice to meet you Yue, I'm Shuyi. And thanks for the help"

"Oh I told you, you're hands are so pretty, I just couldn't watch them getting cuts and wounds cause of these tomatoes"

Other students standing around us started giggling.

"Yue...don't flirt with a taken man, his boyfriend is a senior...like he says. Why isn't he helping you tho?"  Akira said giving a wicked side smile.

"Speak of the devil" Yuxin said laughing.

And there he was, standing among a group of people but his eyes were only focused on me. This stare always gives me butterflies in the stomach. I smiled and gestured at him to come closer.

"They are so cute together, look at him never taking his eyes off his man" said some girl behind me.

Shide excused himself from where he was standing, and walked towards me.

"Hi everyone" he greeted and then stood right by my side "how many times have I told you not to do anything that requires the use of sharp objects? You always end up injuring your hand"

"Shide, why don't you cook for us today since Shuyi is always talking about how good the food that you cook is?"

Shide wiped my hands with a wet towel, "Sure..Shuyi you're going to assist me"

And the girls in the back started cheering and giggling. Shide clearly has had a number of girlfriends since he sure knows how to flirt. But he definitely shut Akira's mouth for good this time as he rolled his eyes at us and went away.

"Yue why do you look so bummed all of a sudden?"

He just shook his head and kept washing the vegetables.

"Come on I'm your sister, you can tell me?"

"I just...I liked Shuyi...I've been observing him back in the university as well, but I just found out he has a boyfriend"

"Well I'm not supposed to tell this to anyone, but I can't see you so upset too. Agh...alright promise me you won't share this with anybody?"

"Um okay"

"Shide and Shuyi are not really dating. He is just helping him to get rid of his annoying ex boyfriend"

"Reallllyyyy, is that really true?"

"Shh...keep this a secret atleast for now, Akira should never find out"

"Yes yes, I'm so happy that I still have a chance!"

Shuyi's POV

How can someone be good at everything, I wondered as I looked at Shide preparing the breakfast.

We ate, clicked pictures, played games. I wasn't expecting this trip to be fun especially because Akira was here as well, but Shide made every part of this outing enjoyable. I simply can never repay him for all the attention and care he gives me without ever asking for it.

Shide's POV

After I was done preparing the food, I prepared a plate for Shuyi like I always did back at home. My eyes were looking for him everywhere but I couldn't find him when suddenly I heard his voice. I turned and saw him sitting next to the guy who was earlier flirting with him while cutting vegetables and suddenly I felt extremely annoyed and frustrated. "When did they get so close? Who even is this person?" I whispered to myself.

I started walking towards them to ask Shuyi to join me for breakfast but my annoyance even doubled when I saw that guy getting close to Shuyi to click a picture.

Irritated, I walked to Shuyi and left his breakfast plate on the table.

"oh...thank you Shide" He said without even noticing I was upset.

"You wanna join us senior?" asked some other guy sitting with them.

"I'm sorry but my friends are waiting, you guys enjoy" I said and left quickly.

Shuyi usually was the first one to know if I was not okay or upset about something, but this time, he was too busy with this new guy. I came back to my table and ate with my friends, still keeping my eyes on his table. "Am I jealous?" No no...it's just my care for him since he's suddenly getting close to a total stranger.

We played group games like pictionary, tug-of-war, jenga, and others. Shuyi was always next to me however that new guy kept on intruding every few minutes. His constant presence around Shuyi made me so mad with irritation. I went to get us some drinks later and while coming back, I saw him take out his phone to click a selfie with Shuyi again getting too close to his face, but before he could, I grabbed Shuyi's hand and took him to where the cars were parked.

"Shide....why did you suddenly drag me? Are we leaving?"

"Yes, the university buses are ready to leave as well"

"Oh okay, just wait a minute, I'll quickly get my stuff from the tent"

He walked a little further but I grabbed him by his arm and turned him around "I've kept everything in the car already"

Shuyi smiled shyly looking down at his feet, "you never let me do anything for you, but you always take care of me so well" he turned around and started walking towards our car when I grabbed his arm again dragging him closer to me "you can click a picture with me since you want to do something for me too"

I could clearly see his cheeks getting flushed which made him look even more pretty if that is even possible.

"Sure" He took out his phone and took a selfie. "Fuck I don't look good at all" he said looking at his phone.

I brought my face close to his neck making him freeze for a moment "you can never look bad with that face you know"

He smiled shyly and hit my arm "come on let's go, enough with the praises now"

He walked towards my car, and I followed after him.
