At present

Shuyi thought this was a new chapter of his life and slowly he would completely forget about Akira, but there he was, in front of him, ruining all the plans he had made for his recovery.

Shuyi didn't look okay, no matter what he tells me, I can feel something went wrong. Was he really crying? What would have happened? I can't even ask his friend, because he thinks Shuyi doesn't know me.

What should I do?

He took out his phone and sent a message to Shuyi.

Hey, what do you want to have for dinner? Wanna go out with me?

He waited for a reply, 5 mins passed, then 10, 20. Shide was getting very anxious wondering why Shuyi wasn't replying. Was he in some trouble? Shuyi's wet eyes kept flashing in Shide's memory. He ran out of the class in the middle of the lecture leaving his friends in shock. He reached home in a hurry and saw Shuyi laying on the sofa with his eyes wide open staring at the ceiling.

He took a deep breath after seeing Shuyi was okay.

Why didn't you reply to my messages?

I don't know where my phone is, I'm sorry. Was it something urgent?

Don't worry about it. Do you feel okay?

You can tell me you know..

I'm fine, I will go take a nap now.

Alright. What should I get for dinner?

Anything is fine.

Shide's Pov

He didn't sound fine no matter what he says. Why wouldn't he tell me? How am I supposed to take care of him like my brother told me to if he doesn't share his problems. Anyway, I should get dinner first. It might help him feel better.

After setting the table, he went to Shuyi's room to wake him up.

He looks like a little baby when he sleeps, so peaceful and innocent. I wonder what made him cry, it makes my heart ache.

Shuyi...wake up...the dinner's ready.

Shuyi...Shuyi...

He then touched Shuyi's forehead and slightly brushed his hair.

Shuyi, if you don't wake up, I might kiss you.

Shuyi was half asleep but Shide's words made his eyes wide open.

There you go, good boy. Now go freshen up quickly.

Shuyi sat up on his bed and held Shide's arm stopping him from leaving.

What did you just say?

What? I just said the dinner's ready.

No, not that. After it.

Shide got closer to Shuyi's face.

Oh you mean when I said I'd kiss you?

yes....

You're lucky you woke up on time, or else who knows what might have happened.

Shuyi gulped and his cheeks got flushed.

Hahaha I'm messing with you. You're such a little baby.

Shide pat on Shuyi's head which made him blush a little.

A very cute baby. Now go freshen up, the dinner's getting cold.

Shuyi nodded and went to the washroon. He looked at himself in the mirror and saw his red cheeks. He touched his face and it felt hot.

What the hell, why am I blushing? Shuyi get a control over yourself. There's no way someone like him would be into me anyway.

Shide had already set the dinner table and was preparing Shuyi's plate.

You treat me like a child sometimes, you know.

Haha I just want to take care of you. Sit here.

They ate in silence until Shide asked a question that was disturbing him since the morning.

Why did you lie to your friend about us not knowing each other?

Shuyi stopped eating and looked at Shide who looked tense and genuinely concerned so Shuyi knew he had to tell him the truth.

He took a deep breath, its because I'm gay. I don't want people to misunderstand you for living with a gay person. I don't want you to go through any trouble because of me.

Shide held Shuyi's hand and goosebumps ran all throughout his body.

Shuyi, we might not know each other well enough right now, but I really care about you. As for your sexual orientation, that is completely your choice. I don't care what people think or say about me, no one can stop me from caring about you. So the next time you have a problem, you can directly come to me without overthinking anything.

But there are still some narrow minded and homophobic people and I don't want your personal relationships to get affected because of me.

What personal relationships?

I mean...maybe....your girlfriend...?

Shide smiled at Shuyi and touched his head.

You think too much, there's nothing for you to be worried about. Finish you dinner and go to sleep. Don't stay awake thinking, or else I'll make you sleep in my room.

Shide left his plate on the kitchen counter and went to his room. Shuyi felt butterflies in his stomach just thinking about sleeping next to Shide.

He didn't really say he had a girlfriend or not. Fuck, I really overthink everything.

He went to bed after washing both the plates.
