On The Run 🌶🌶🌶

The Werewolf Chronicles

Ekon

~One more drink.~

~Moon Goddess, hear me.~

~Just one. More. Drink.~

I licked my lips and tried to imagine my tongue picking up the hint of whiskey… or gin… or rum…

Anything to help alleviate the stress of these past several days.

Max once again showed his determination and prowess in breaking us out of my own mansion. Still recovering from the harm the agents had taken out on my body, I left it up to Bambi’s Alpha brother to pick up the slack.

I had installed a few secret passages several years earlier, but that didn’t mean the agents weren’t watching them.

Max used every ounce of stealth he possessed and managed to take out the guards one by one. They would be found soon enough—alive, pissed off, and tied up in the same passages they were meant to guard.

It was hard to leave behind my most trusted advisors, Beta Ryland, and Gamma Kalindi, but it was necessary.

Without any type of leadership back at the compound, my pack would surely crumble. Things weren’t looking good, but there was some order in the chaos.

The government would look for us, that much I knew. There was even a chance they had our location now and would descend upon us at any moment.

Ever since my altercation with that bastard Agent Kolnik, things didn’t seem right inside. My body felt weaker than it had in a very long time.

It could’ve been the symptoms of a greater malady – ever since we failed to win the vote from Supernatural Parliament, my faith in our mission had grown weaker and weaker.

“Are you alright?” Bambi asked, touching her hand to my face.

I could hear the concern in her voice and imagined what I might look like—pale, gaunt, and weaker than she had ever seen me before.

“Nothing is alright. And you know that.”

My voice was harsh, but I couldn’t help that. She was worried about me, but such ignorant questions had no place in our current predicament.

“We’re nearly at the U.S.—Mexico border. Once we cross over, it should be nearly impossible for them to find us.”

I sighed.

Luckily, Max had managed to find an old, rusted Ford Explorer that wouldn’t be missed.

It had taken nearly a week for us to reach the border, traveling mostly at night. But we were almost out of the states and headed toward an uncertain future.

“Mexico and Central America are still friendly toward our kind,” I said. “It’s after we leave the borders of Panama that we’ll have something to worry about. The witches of No Wolf Land will not be happy that we’ve broken our treaty and crossed over.”

“It seems like old customs are being broken left and right,” Bambi said. “Why shouldn’t we be able to do the same?”

I shook my head, annoyed by her brash confidence. This was her nature and it was part of the reason I loved her. But things were not always as easy as she made them seem.

Our lives were hanging in the balance between several forces: the Supernatural Parliament, the U.S. government, Matthias, and Devina…

Maybe I should be more hopeful. We had made a lot of headway, traveling thousands of miles, mostly at night. No one had caught us, and no matter how worried I was, we were still free… for now.

From what Bambi had mentioned earlier, we were somewhere in South Texas.

She had found a rundown motel and purchased two separate rooms. Max only needed a place to rest, but Bambi reserved us the honeymoon suite. From what she told me, it had a large heart-shaped bed that matched the large heart-shaped hot tub in the bathroom.

I trusted her description and refused to shift out of fear of what it might truly look like. Something in the air made me imagine it was the opposite of a honeymoon and more like some southern-fried hell.

My nostrils inhaled the foul scent of a nearby pig farm. Whatever was left of my frail hope disintegrated and flew away with the wind.

I could feel my hands shake and clenched them tight, trying to hold back my dark urge to get lost in the nearest bottle.

Bambi’s hand closed over mine, trying to instill me with courage, but all it did was make my desire to taste the alcohol so much stronger.

How could I have let this happen? The Alpha of one of the largest packs in the entire world, crippled by his own uncontrollable urges. Bambi and Max might have been better off just leaving me behind and finding Hunter on their own.

Once outside the confines of the mansion, Max, Bambi and I were able to connect via mind-link. But it was much weaker than we had expected. If we were within several miles of one another, it was no problem. Anything more than that was pointless to even try.

Bambi nuzzled my neck with her cheek. I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her onto the bed. Our bodies gave off a familiar warmth that mixed with the humid Texas air, finally drowning out my dark desire to lose myself in something else besides her.

“Max turned in for the rest of the day. Said he needs to get some rest before tonight.”

I smiled and was not surprised to feel her lips press against my cheek. After a few more kisses, she found my lips and I placed my hand on her head, pulling her closer.

She moaned as our tongues found each other. It made my body burn bright with affection. If I could remember how she made me feel each time we touched each other, I’d never need another lick of sauce for the rest of my life.

Bambi was my drug… my addiction… and I’d never get enough of her.

“Are you suggesting we make use of this suite, my love?” I smiled.

I was never as suave as I wanted to be. My years in the military made sure of that. But Bambi never seemed to mind.

Her hand began to unbutton my pants and before I could even take a breath, she had managed to pull my dick free.

She fit it in her mouth and I gasped as it grew to full size, fed by the warmth of her tongue.

I laid down on the bed and pulled her ass onto my chest. Bambi managed to slip off her pants while still sucking my cock… she would never cease to amaze me.

My tongue tickled the back of her thighs, causing her to squirm. That was when I finally pushed my tongue inside and tasted every bit of the woman that I had grown to love.

Things might be uncertain now, but if we could just hold on to one another… maybe… just maybe… we could find our way through the fog.

She moaned as my tongue helped her climax and I felt myself getting close. In only a few more licks, she would help me find release.

We might be on the run… in a no-good honeymoon suite in humid South Texas… but right now there was no other place I would rather be.

Bambi

I closed the door silently so as not to wake the sleeping beast. This journey had been rough on all of us, especially Ekon. But one thing was certain, and that was that Ekon and I loved each other too much to let anything keep us down.

I definitely couldn’t keep him down…

He ravaged my body for the last hour, helping me reach orgasm again and again. When all was said and done, we both found much-needed relief in one another’s arms.

The front desk had no reception whatsoever, so I tried to think through my options. Luckily, I managed to spot a café with a blinking sign that was practically begging me to enter.

To my surprise, I was greeted with a warm smile and a Wi-Fi code, even if a little spotty.

I found a nice booth in the far corner and ordered a ham and cheese sandwich with a root beer float to wash it all down.

Every time Ekon and I had sex, it took every ounce of energy I possessed. Something sweet and salty should do the trick to help me recharge my batteries.

Holly had given us a few numbers at the university where we could reach her and I knew that she had a Skype profile. I checked the time and noted it was only half-past six. We were in the same time zone so I should be able to reach her right after dinner.

I popped in my earphones and used the Skype application to call. It took several rings, but finally, I watched as her beautiful face and blonde hair filled the screen.

“Oh, Moon Goddess!” she screamed.

“It’s so good to see your face. You look wonderful,” I said, unable to hold back my happiness. “Tell me everything!”

“Well, it’s been a whirlwind, but I love every minute of it!”

Ever since we found out she was going to university, I knew she would excel. In the short amount of time she had practiced her magic at Ekon’s mansion, she had become confident enough to take on Devina. Who knew where some actual guidance from educated witches would lead? The possibilities seemed endless…

“Classes are hard but fulfilling. I’ve learned more than I thought imaginable and it never gets old. I always want more!”

“You’ve already made us all so proud,” I exclaimed. “And have you made any friends?”

“Well, my roommate is a bit of a downer.”

“Aren’t they all? I bet she’s just jealous of how great you are.”

Holly shrugged, but it was followed with a large smile. There was definitely something she was holding back and I hoped she would spill all the details. It had been so long since I talked with someone about school and it brought back memories from long ago.

A tinge of pain crept through my chest as I remembered giving up the internship in New York to live a life as Ekon’s mate. It was hard to do, but with time, I realized that my place was right here as his Luna.

“You’re not telling me something!”

Holly nodded, finally having been found out.

“I’ve managed to make a good impression on one of my teachers. Her name is Professor Zillana and she has taken a special interest in helping me learn all I can.”

“That’s great!”

It was part of my secret hope when she went to university that she would be able to learn more about Devina, which is why she had taken her grimoire along.

“It’s unbelievable the things you can learn when someone else puts their faith in you.”

I nodded in agreement. Only a few months ago, I had only been known as Maximus’s little sister… how the tides can turn in such a short time.

I didn’t want to change the course of the conversation, but remembering about Devina brought up questions that I needed answered.

The waitress finally brought my sandwich and float, causing me to set down the phone momentarily.

“Where are you?” Holly wondered. In all the excitement, I had nearly forgotten to tell her why I had really called. “Did you sneak out of the compound to get some time with me?”

“That’s what I wanted to talk about.”

Her smile began to fade as she recognized my serious expression.

“Things have been hard in the past few days. The government cracked down on the pack land. They’ve taken over Ekon’s mansion.”

“What? That doesn’t make any sense.”

“Something bad happened at the Supernatural Parliament. A person who was supposed to help our cause died... very suddenly. Everyone is blaming us even though we know it’s the work of Matthias and Devina!”

“Oh my…” she said, worried. “I can speak to my professor. She must know what to do.”

I saw her face change at the mention of Devina and I understood her worry. But her attention went to someone off-screen and then she quickly looked back at me.

“I’m sorry. I have to go. I’m late for class.”

“Wait, Holly! We’re on our way to South America. We need your help. Your magic. We have no place left to turn…”

“I hope to speak to you again soon! Tell everyone hello!”

“We’re going to try and meet you at the university… Holly… are you there?”

The screen went blank and my jaw dropped.

Had she heard anything I’d said? I wanted to call her back, but something told me it was no use. We needed her help, that much was true. But was it possible she no longer wanted to give it?
