Chapter 132
Seducing My Ex's Father In Law by Caroline Above Story
Chapter 0132 Judyâs POV âYou agreed to do what??â Gavin asked, folding his arms across his chest as he glared at me. I sat on his bed, with my head down. âWhy would you agree to go to that barbeque?â
âBecause Irene asked,â I told him. âSheâs my friend, Gavin. She needed me to be there... so Iâll be there.â
He sighed, running his fingers through his hair.
âLet me go with you,â he said after a moment of pause I stood to my feet and closed the gap between us, wrapping my arms around his neck I like that he wanted to go and protect me, but it wasnât a plausible solution. It would only make a scene and reveal our special relationship.
âAnd how would we explain that?â I asked him. âWe would have to come up with an excuse as to why you are there defending me, Gavin. I donât think itâs a good idea.â
He sighed and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me close to him.
âI was invited, you know. Iâm invited every year, but I never attend,â he murmured.
This surprised me. I peeked up at him.
âIfv f you feel like you must attend, then attend. But I want to prove to myself that I can handle this on my own without you intervening. Plus, I doubt Irene wants your presence there. This is supposed to be her moment. You being there takes the attention away from her,â I told him.
He nodded and pressed his forehead against mine.
âYouâre right. I donât like it. But youâre right. But if he gives you any issues-â
âIâll call you,â I assured him. I stood on my toes and kissed his lips. âMr. Protective.â
. He rolled his eyes, but I could see a hint of a smile on his lips.
âThatâs me,â he murmured. âAlways the protector.â
He deepened the kiss and then pulled me into his bed where we made love for most of the night before falling asleep.
âWhere have you been?â My mother asked as I walked down the steps of the house. It was late morning, and I had gotten home a few hours ago from Gavinâs villa. I managed to get a few more hours of sleep before waking up for the day. I wanted to get here and act as if I had been here all night before my mother woke up, but apparently, she had noticed my absence.
âI just woke up,â I told her, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.
âYou hadnât been home all night,â she told me, folding her arms across her chest. âDonât think I didnât hear you coming home early this morning. Youâve been like this for weeks, Judy. You stay out all night and return in the morning.

So, she had noticed. I bit my lower lip and glanced at the ground. She studied me for a moment before her eyes grew wide.
âAre you seeing someone?â She asked.
âWhat? No, of course not.â
âIs it Ethan?â She suddenly asked, making my blood go cold. I could see the hopefulness in her eyes. Did you two reconcile?â
âNo, Mom,â I told her, bursting her bubble. âEthanâs engaged to someone else... remember?â
She sighed and rubbed her temples as if she were gaining a headache.
âWell, I hoped seeming heâs your fated mate and all that you both came to your senses. But I guess thatâs not the case. Anyway, we are going to the Cash family barbeque tonight, so just make sure you are on your best behavior.â
I frowned at her and folded my arms across my chest.
âIâm not the one you should be worrying about,â I told her.
She rolled her eyes.
âHonesty, Judy. Itâs an attitude like that that gets you in trouble,â she murmured. âIâm going to ask them for some help paying your fatherâs debt, so I need tonight to go well.â
My mouth dropped open.
âMom, we donât need their money,â I told her. âI already told you that Iâll take care of it.â
âAnd I appreciate that, sweetie. I truly do. But your father canât stay another minute in that awful prison. My wolf has been taking all the pain heâs been feeling and my heart breaks for her. We need our mate back and safe and my last hope right now is the Cash family. They are rich enough that they could help us. It doesnât hurt to ask â
âHis family isnât nice,â I reminded her. âTheyâve never treated our family kindly no matter how much you and Dad tried to suck up to them. They looked at us like we were bottomâofâtheâbarrel trash and not even worth polishing their shoes.â
âThat isnât true,â my mother told me. âHis mother, Meredith, had always been kind to me and his grandmother as well. They are friends, Judy. They will help us if asked.â
