Chapter 253
Seducing My Ex's Father In Law by Caroline Above Story
Chapter 0253 âSo, instead, he left me? His mate?â Nan asked, her eyes growing wide as she stared up at me. âHow does that make sense, Judy?
I was quiet for a moment, not really sure how to answer her âI donât know,â I admitted. âItâs all too much right now. Iâm sorry you have to deal with this.â
She sighed and threw the pillow to the side.
âI just donât want to think about it anymore,â she said, shaking her head as she wiped at her eyes. âLetâs talk about you instead.â
1 smiled.
âWhat about me?â I asked.
She rolled her eyes.
âOh, please. Iâm not stupid, Judy. You are living in his mansion. You already told me youâve been sleeping -together, but I think thereâs more to it. You have actual feelings for him and itâs obvious he has feelings for you too.â
âWhat are you talking about?â I asked, feeling heat creeping across my cheeks. âWe are just having a bit of fun. We both agreed itâs just a show. Itâs not that serious.â
âA bit of fun? Seriously, Judy? Heâs letting you live in his mansion,â she said, waving around at the vast space. You are pretty much a princess right now.â
I couldnât help but laugh.
âIâm not a princess,â I said, swatting at her arm. âAnd Gavin has barely been here in the last few days.â
I couldnât keep the bitterness out of my tone as I spoke; the smile slowly faded from my lips.
âWhat do you mean?â Nan asked with a frown. âIs everything okay?â
I shrugged and nibbled on my lower lip.
âI donât know,â I admitted. âOne minute he canât get enough of me and the next, he doesnât want to spend any time with me. He keeps canceling our plans whenever Irene cries for him.â
âIrene is causing problems again?â Nan asked, her brows raised.
I nodded and then I sighed.
âSheâs his daughter, so I canât fault him for choosing her. But itâs just constant. Every time sheâs in a bad mood or has sniffles, he cancels our plans to tend to her. I havenât seen him in days and when I do see him while Iâm tutoring Matt, he blows me off.
Claiming heâs too busy to talk. I donât even think heâs sleeping at the villa. Which makes me wonder whereâs been sleeping if not at the Vill and not-with me.â
I was rambling, but I couldnât help myself. I was so confused about what was happening that it was making the words spill from my mouth.
âHeâs Gavin Landry. Heâs probably just busy,â Nan suggested, a worried frown marring her lips. âIâm sure itâs. hothing to worry too much about. Donât stress over it.â
âI could say the same to you,â I teased. âYou are worried about your mate, and Iâm worried about a guy Iâm sleeping with. What happened to us?â
+25 BONUS ~ Chapter 0253 âIs this what growing up is?â Nan asked, her nose crinkling âBecause I donât like it. Too many emotions.â
I laughed and wrapped an arm around her as she rested her head on my shoulder.
âIâm not a fan either,â I admitted. âBut I donât think what Iâm doing is grown up. This is my own fault for thinking I can separate my feelings.â
Nan sighed.
âI wish I could separate my wolf from me sometimes because itâs her feelings that Iâm conflicted over,â she admitted.
I knew exactly how she felt; when Ethan left me for Irene, wanted nothing to do with him. I wanted to walk away, but my wolf was the one who kept me grounded and waiting for him to come around. She held onto the hope that our mate would return, but I didnât want him to return after what he did.
Our wolves only know one thing and thatâs our mates belong to us and only us... they would never want another.
Focusing on Nan and Chester was a good distraction from my own problems.
âI should tell you something,â I told her, breaking the long stretch of silence.
She lifted her head to look at me.
âYou can tell me anything,â she assured me with a warm smile. It was nice to see her smiling again, despite all she had gone through these last few days.
âI was nominated to participate in the Gamma Competitionâ
Her eyes grew wide.
âJudy, thatâs incredible!â She gasped. âCongratulations! Thatâs everything youâve wanted!â
âThanks,â I said. This was the first time I said these words out loud to anyone. I wanted Gavin to be the first one 1 told, but heâs been MIA for days. âItâs across the country, so Iâll be gone for a few weeks.â
Her face fell suddenly.
âOh,â she breathed. âSo, youâre leaving?â
I nodded, nibbling on my lower lip..
âI leave next week,â I admitted.
She nodded, her shoulders sagging.
âIâm going to miss you. Iâm not sure what Iâll do without out,â she murmured. âBut maybe some time away would do you some good.â
That was when I had an idea.
âYeah, it would,â I told her, then I turned to look at her. âAnd it would do you some good too. Come with me.â
