Chapter 263
Seducing My Ex's Father In Law by Caroline Above Story
Chapter 0263 âOh, I see,â she murmured. âThen you must be very specialâ
âWhat about you?â I asked. âArenât you competing?â
She looked down at her sweatshirt again and her shoulders slumped slightly.
âNo,â she said softly. âBut Iâm required to be there to support my gamma.â
âOh?â I asked.
She sighed and then looked up at me.
âHeâs kind of my boyfriend.â
My eyes grew wide.
âYouâre dating your gamma?â
She nodded, nibbling her lower lip. Nan looked around with a frown.
âThen where is he?â She asked.
âHe took an earlier flight with a group of his friends,â she murmured. âI was left behind. But Iâm going anyways.â
Over the loudspeaker, I heard our section of the plane being called. I glanced at Nan who gave me a head nod, indicating that she too heard it.
âWe have to go,â I told her, standing to my feet. âBut maybe we will see you there?â
She nodded, giving me a small smile.
âYeah,â she said softly. âMaybe.â
On that note, Nan and I walked towards the terminal gates and handed our tickets to the stewardess before we boarded the plane.
âNext stop, tropical paradise!â Nan announced, tugging me along with her.
Third Person POV Back at the villa, Irene went to her brotherâs room to check on him.
She had just got off the phone with Ethan and he was about to come over. She needed to speak to him about that woman she saw at his house. She wasnât going to feel better until she got to the bottom of it. However, she took her fatherâs words to heart.
She canât just be mad at Judy; Ethan also lied to her.
He was just as guilty if not more.
She knocked on Mattâs door and when there was no answer, she pushed the door open. Matt was seated in his bed, playing video games. Of course, thatâs what he was doing.
âHey,â she said, stepping into his room:
âWhat do you want?â He asked without even looking up.
The bitterness of his tone took Irene by surprise, and she froze.
Chapter 0263 +25 BONUS âWhatâs with the attitude?â she asked, folding her arms across her chest as she stared down at him.
âI heard what you said to Judy yesterday,â he muttered, shaking his head as he finally pulled his eyes away from his video games to glare up at her. âYou were horrible and blamed her for my accident.â
âBecause she shot you,â Irene said, pointing to his healing leg. In another day or so, it would be completely healed thankfully. âIt was her fault.â
âIt was my fault. I moved in front of the target because I saw something on the ground I wanted to pick up,â Matt surprised her by saying. âJudy always told me never to move from my current location if someone is shooting because they aim according to placement. I threw her off balance by moving my position. I wasnât thinking straight. It was a rookie mistake.â
Irene was stunned, speechless. She did see Matt moving from his current position, but Judy still should have seen him before releasing the bow.
âShe wasnât even aiming for me,â Matt continued. âShe was showing me a trick shot. The arrow happened to be going in the same direction I moved to.â
âA trick shot?â Irene asked, furrowing her brows.
âYou know nothing about what Judy can do,â Matt said through his teeth. âSheâs an incredible archer and combater and can do things you could only dream of. This accident was not her fault. I wanted to tell her that last night, but everyone w was yelling and then Dad listened to you and kicked her out. He Alpha commanded her, Irene and itâs your fault.â
Irene was shocked.
â...uh...â she stammered.
Gavin knocked on the door, interrupting their conversation.
âEverything okay?â He asked, stepping into the room.
âThe accident wasnât Judyâs fault,â Matt repeated. âI moved from my original location after she told me countless times not to do that. If anyone is to blame, itâs me. But please, donât be mad at Judy anymore. I donât want her to quit or get fired... I donât want her to leave.â
Tears welled up in Mattâs eyes and Irene felt a ping of guilt in her chest. This was her fault completely; what kind of monster had she become? And for what? All for Ethan? Was he even worth it?
âThank you for telling me that,â Gavin said, placing a hand on Mattâs shoulder.
âDad... you arenât going to fire her, are you!!
Gavin shook his head.
âNo, Iâve been trying to get a hold of her though. Her phoneâs off. Itâll have to wait until I come back. I was coming in here to tell you that Iâm leaving now, and Iâll be gone for a few weeks.â
âAre you going straight to the Gamma competition?â
bly meet some of the âIt doesnât start for another couple of days. Iâm going to check in at the resort and then possibly competitors for dinner this evening,â he explained. âBehave while Iâm gone. Both of you. Call if you need anything. Be good for Beta Taylor.â
âOkay...â they both said at the same time.
Gavin left and Irene glanced back at Matt who still had tears in his eyes.
It was at that moment that Irene knew she messed up.
