49. Winter Gala
The Bet
Olivia
I told my dad that I learned how to drive... actually I lied to him would be more accurate because I said to him that Lucy taught me not Joel. He started praising me and telling me how proud he is to have a smart daughter like me and that I should hold the Meyer last name with dignity. I felt a little guilty for lying to him when he was so happy and proud of me.
He promised me that he will get me a car on my seventeenth birthday as a gift which is five months ahead. Until then I have to get the driving license.
''Guess who my date for the Winter Gala is.'' Andy says with a smirk.
My family and I are having dinner on Andy's house. It's a thing we always do considering that my parents and Andy's parents are best friends since middle school. Dad, Mom, Uncle Nelson, and Aunt Michelle all attended the same school, the Royal Academy. And they ruled the school back in their time, a legacy we continue today as the next generation.
"Another cheerleader?" I ask. It's no surprise Andy would choose another cheerleader; he's always had the heart eyes for them. I can't understand his attraction with cheerleaders; I loathe them. They have that 'pick me' and 'mean girl' attitude that you can smell from miles away.
We're sitting in the back yard in Andy's house. I glance around and realize that Aunt Michelle has grown her collection of plants, she has even putted some near the pool.
Our parents are seated in the living room, conversing with each other. Their discussion seems a bit suspicious to me because they are so quiet; they're never this silent and never whisper to each other like that. I'm doing everything in my power not to get up and sneak over to eavesdrop on their conversation.
''Not just a cheerleader.'' Andy speaks and my jaw drops.
''You're going with Avril?" I shout and Lucy glances up from her book, looking at us in confusion.
"Yeah," he says, placing his feet on top of the table and leaning back in the chai
''How did you convince her?" Lucy asks dropping the book on the table, too curious on our conversation than the book now.
"Well, it wasn't easy," Andy says. "We had a little fight because someone here brought up what I did last year at the Gala." He shoots me a look, and I offer him an apologetic smile. ''But I talked it out with her and then asked her if she wanted to be my date. She played a little hard to get but then said yes.'' he adds with a smirk.
''Well that's impressive.'' I say, ''Now I have a strong competitor for the 'best couple' title.'' I add and Andy let out an evil laugh.
''How are you going to dress up? Like Gargamel?'' I say with snort.
''Jokes on you, I'm going to be prince Charming.'' he says ruffling his hair trying to be hot which makes me laugh and almost fall from the chair.
"Guys," Lucy says in a quiet voice, fidgeting with her fingers and avoiding our gazes. She seems nervousâwhy is she nervous?
Me and Andys share a look with each other.
''Did something happen?" I ask concerned.
''Did someone do something to you?" Andy asks, as much concerned as me.
''Did someone insult you?"
"Tell me who and I'll snap their neck.''
''Did you lose your book?"
"Did you get a bad grade?"
''Guys stop- what are you saying?" she stops us, and we look at each other again. ''None of that happened.''
'Then what it is?" I ask.
''Do I need to kill someone?" Andy says, his face serious. When it comes to our safety Andy becomes the opposite of the funny, nice and cute guy. He's the brother we never had, and we are the sisters he never had.
''No Andy, you don't need to kill someone.'' Lucy says. ''Luke asked me to be his date on the gala.''
Our jaws drop to the floor as we stare at her with eyes wide open.
''Oh-'' I say.
''Yeah.'' she sighs.
Well, this is... something.
I never expected this, and it seems like Lucy didn't either. Does Luke Cullen feel something for my sister? Because why would he want to go with her in the Gala? Or maybe he doesn't have a date and asked Lucy because she's his only friend. The Cullens don't have friends in the school, they barely hang out with anyone except each other and us, so that might be the reason why Luke asked Lucy. It has to be this.
''What did you say?" Andy asks.
''I said I'll think about it.'' she sighs, ''Because it's dangerous, our parents will be there.''
She's right. It would raise suspicion if all of us choose each other for a date.
''True.'' I sigh.
''But wait.'' Andy speaks, ''Wouldn't it be better if all of us went with each other? Think about it, if Joel and Olivia go together it will raise suspicion, but if me and Lucy go with them as well it won't be as much suspicious, it will be seemed as planned. We'll tell them that we planned this to look powerful in the school.''
''My dad will have a heart attack if he hears that we're shearing the power with the Cullens.'' I say.
''Andy has a great idea.'' Lucy says, ''I think it would be better if there's not only you and Joel.''
''Okay then.'' I shrug.
''Now we have to choose what to wear. Will you take my idea and dress like Gargamel?" I look at Andy, ''tell Avril to dress like one of the Smurfs.'' I add with a laugh.
''Haha, very funny.'' he says with a fake laugh, ''Why don't you tell Joel to dress like Fiona the ogre?'' he says, and I burst out laughing. Lucy laughs too, shaking her head to our stupidity.
''Imma dress like Preminger.'' I say and lean back on the armchair, ''WHAT? Making a decision without me?!'' I imitate his voice and then laugh.
Andy laughs too, while Lucy rolls her eyes, but there's a smile on her lips. My 'Preminger spirit' makes everyone laugh, even the queen of seriousness herself, Lucy.
ââââ
Today is December 23rd, which means it's the day of the Winter Gala! Finally, the wait is over and my most precious and favorite event is happening.
Winter Gala.
Today.
I sit up abruptly in my bed, tossing the blankets aside. Holy shit, it's today! I grab my phone from the nightstand and blink away the sleep as I check the time.
8:24.
"Eight twenty-four?!" I shout, jumping out of bed. "Shit, we're late!" I slip on my blue fluffy slippers and straighten my crumpled pajamas. I need to wake Lucy up. As I rush out of my room, I trip over one of my teddy bears and fall to the floor with a loud thump.
''Fuck.'' I groan on the floor. Who knew that one of my teddies would try to kill me? ''Not cool uncle Carlo!'' I say to the toy as I throw it on the bed and get out of my room.
I hurry to Lucy's room, just down the hall from mine on the second floor of our mansion. Entering her cozy, brownish, book nerdish room, I find her peacefully sleeping on her bed.
"Wake up! Wake up!" I jump on her bed. She groans, not opening her eyes. I grab the blankets and pull them away from her.
"Go away, Olivia," she says sleepily, pulling her blankets back.
''No, you have to get up.'' I say and shake her shoulder.
''Its Saturday, go back to sleep.'' she says nuzzling her head on the pillow.
''But today is Winter Gala.'' I lie on top of her, and she lets out a frustrated groan.
''The Winter Gala starts at 6pm. Go sleep now.''
''But we have to get ready.''
''It's morning!'' she says and pushes me off her. I fall on the floor, on her white fluffy carpet.
Second fall for today. Cool.
''It's better that it's morning.'' I get up from the floor with full energy, ''We have to get ready! Go to SPA, make our skin shine, do our nails, our hair, wear the marvelous dresses, practice how to dance. We have a lot of stuff to do.''
We bought our dresses three days ago and aren't they beautiful?
My dress is a soft blue color, full Victorian queen style, with long sleeves that stay to my shoulders, and it has a heart shaped neckline which adds a touch of elegance, it looks like it has come straight out of fantasy. It's really lovely and I feel like Cinderella while wearing it. The dress is quite long, and I have to wear high heels, so I don't trip while walking, but it does make me feel like a royal.
Lucy's dress is just as enchanting as mine. Her dress is a soft pink color with golden flower patterns all over it. While my dress has long sleeves, hers has short sleeves that hang off the shoulders and an elegant V-neckline. She looks like a delicate, pretty princess in it, reminding me of those Barbie princesses.
To complete our look we got crowns, don't judge me mom insisted to buy them in the jewelry shop. My crown is with blue diamonds while Lucy's with pink ones.
Our outfit is a little bit extra, but embracing a bit of extravagance is what makes the Meyers stand out. Sometimes, a little extra flair is just what you need to make a statement.
"Come on, get up," I say.
"A little bit later," she murmurs.
"Okay, I'll go have a cozy bath and get ready. When I come back, I want you awake," I say, leaving her room.
''Come on girls!'' Mom shouts, ''We're gonna get late because of you two.''
''Chill, mama bear. We're not late.'' I say coming down the stairs.
"This dress is going to kill me," Lucy says, coming down from the other side of our double-sided staircase, holding the dress with her hands.
After a few hours of getting dressed, doing our makeup, and styling our hair, we're finally ready. The hairstylist was a bit slow, but her work is amazing. I have my hair in a bun with a braid wrapped around it, and the crown is carefully fixed on my head. I let two short strands of hair fall freely around my face.
Lucy made her hair wavy with two braids tied behind her head and the crown on her head. She looks so beautiful.
"You two look amazing," mom says with teary eyes.
''You look like a queen.'' I kiss her cheek.
''The most beautiful queen.'' Lucy joins us.
Mom is wearing a dark green dress with off-shoulder straps. It has some golden patterns on it, adding a touch of the Victorian style. She has hair on a low bun and there is a small tiara on the top of her head.
"Only compliments for the mom?" Dad enters, crossing his arms. He's dressed in a black Victorian tuxedo with a calf-length coat, looking unconditionally handsome in it.
''Dad, you look so handsome.'' I approach him.
''He's definitely trying to get 'king of the night' title.'' Lucy says. Dad chuckles and kisses both of us on the head.
''Let's go now.'' mom rushes to the door.
We're going to school where the event is being held with our black limousine. Dad's choice. He never fails when it comes to show off his money.
ââââ
When we arrive, the parking lot is filled with cars, and the school is sparkling with enchanting yellow lights. The trees are adorned with fairy lights, and the path from the parking lot to the school's courtyard is lined with a red carpet and lights. Lucy did an amazing job.
As we get out of our limo another black limousine drives to the parking spot beside ours.
Shit, are those the Cullens?
My prediction comes true when the door opens, and Adam Cullen gets out of the limo. Avril is after him and my jaw drops when I look at her. She's wearing a magnificent red and black dress which has diamonds on the front, at least they look like diamonds but I'm not sure what kind of jewelry they are. She has made her hair curly, and they are falling free on her shoulders. On the top of her head stands a crown which is black with red diamonds. I'm amazed by her view.
Joel and Luke get out of the limo too, and I think I'm going to faint. What's with the Cullens and their blood line? They're so fucking perfect.
Luke is wearing a dark brown tuxedo with a calf length coat. He looks like one of those fancy Victorian gentlemans. Adam Cullen has the exact same outfit except his is grey.
My gaze shifts to Joel, and my stomach flutters when I catch him looking at me. His eyes scan every part of my body before they meet my face, and he swallows. His outfit matches his brother's and father's, in dark blue, but he isn't wearing the coat. He's only in a white shirt, dark blue vest, and trousers.
Joel's gaze shifts away from me, and he looks at his father with concern before dropping his eyes to the ground.
We're standing in front of the Cullens in an awkward silence as my dad and Adam Cullen make an eye contact cold war. Then they nod to each other, and Adam walks ahead, his children following after him.
Joel winks at me as he walks away, and I do everything in my power to suppress a smile.
I realize something as the Cullens walk at the red carpet. Amanda Cullen isn't with them.
I'm curious to see how Joel's mom looks like, and I was hoping to see her today. It's weird that she isn't here.
A white limo appears at the entrance of the parking lot, and I smile. Andy's here.
My jaw drops when Andy gets out of the car. He's wearing a black coat, vest, and trousers paired with a white shirt and black gloves. Well, isn't he handsome?
''My chéries, you are très belles.'' he approaches us. He takes our hands and spins us around.
''Merci.'' I do a courtesy, ''You look so handsome too, Andy.''
''Yeah, the girls are going to fall head over heels.'' Lucy winks and he gives us a proud look.
''You have to hold yourself tight because you're going to faint when you see Avril.'' I whisper.
''She's so beautiful.'' Lucy whispers too and his eyes widen.
''Let's go inside then, what are we doing here?" he says and I laugh.
I look at Uncle Nelson and Aunt Michelle and roll my eyes when I realize that they are matching with my parents. Aunt Mishelle's dress is same as my mom's and Uncle Nelson's tuxedo is same as my father's.
Their friendship is so cute.
''Let's head inside.'' dad says and walks ahead with Uncle Nelson.
Mom catches up with me as we walk and wraps her arm around mine.
''The boy in blue was Joel, right?" she asks, and I stop on my tracks. Why is she asking me that?
I recover quickly and walk with her.
''Yeah, that's him.'' I answer.
''He looked really handsome.'' she says smiling and my stomach drops.
''I haven't noticed.''Â I say after clearing my throat.
She raises an eyebrow at me and then walks ahead with Aunt Mishelle.
An uneasy feeling settles on my chest as we walk toward the courtyard. Why did mom ask me about Joel? Does she know anything?
The event is being held in the cafeteria because it's the biggest room in the school. I'm stunned when we head inside; the cafeteria has been transformed into a completely different space. The old tables and our usual spot are gone. Instead, there are small round tables with drinks and treats, and there's plenty of room for dancing.
Lucy and Luke transformed the cafeteria into an enchanting ballroom.
''Wow.'' I let out a breath as I look at the lights.
''Stunned?" Lucy asks proudly and I nod.
''As always Lucy did an amazing job.'' dad says and goes to meet his friends.
I scan the crowd, searching for Joel. Among the hundreds of parents and students, I finally spot him with his family on the other side of the ballroom. Adam Cullen is deep in conversation with a man, while Joel looks bored, and Luke seems too engaged in their discussion. The Cullen brothers are so different from each other and yet they look so alike.
''You were right,'' Andy says holding a glass of champagne, ''She is stunning.'' he says looking at Avril and I smile.
Avril turns her head and looks at us. I make a heart with my hands and point at Andy. She frowns, but then a big smile spreads across her face. Andy scowls at me before turning his gaze back to Avril. Bro is whipped.
I laugh and blow Avril a kiss, which she returns while looking at her father.
It's time for the first dance!
''Finally, I get to go to her.'' Andy says excitedly, '' But there's Adam Cullen too, I'm scared to go there.''
''Come on bro, you're not going to dance with Adam!'' I scoff, ''Go and get the girl''
''He's scary.'' he says before leaving. I know.
Luke walks toward us, and I grin as he approaches Lucy. He offers his hand to her with a bow, and she accepts it with a curtsy. He winks at me as he leads her away.
''What- what is he doing?" dad asks.
Dad glares at them while mom is smiling.
''May I have the honor of your first dance, princess?" Joel says offering his hand to me. I laugh a little at his choice of word and accept his hand.
''Of course.'' I smile.
He dared to call me by his nickname in front of my parents.
''What is happening?" dad asks confused. He comes to stop us, but mom holds him by his arm.
''Your dad is malice.'' Joel says putting his hand at my waist.
''He'll get over it.'' I say.
''Did I tell you how beautiful you look tonight?" he asks as we begin to dance at the soft music.
''No. Tell me.'' I smile.
''You look so beautiful that every girl around here is losing their shine in front of you,'' he whispers in my ear. ''You're brighter than any star in the night sky, prettier than any flower in this garden, more enchanting than the diamonds everyone is wearing, and more beautiful than anyone in this room.''
I'm left speechless as he speaks.
He spins me and grabs my waist to pull me closer to his body.
''You look like a princess, my princess.''
''Looks like I'm finally deserving your nickname.'' I say stunned by his compliment.
''You always deserved that nickname.''
My stomach flutters and I grin at him.
''You look very handsome too.'' I say and he smiles, shoving me that beautiful dimple, ''Everyone in this room fades when you walk in.'' I add and he chuckles.
''Change time.'' he says and let's go of me with a spin.
What?
I land at someone else arms and when I look up Luke smiles at me. I return the smile and look around to see Joel dancing with Lucy.
''You look pretty, Olivia.'' Luke says with that soft voice of his.
''Why thank you.'' I smile, ''You look very handsome too.''
''Thank you, my lady.'' he smiles. ''Change time.''
He lets go of me and spins me around. I land on Joel's arms.
''Hi.'' a voice says, and I look up frowning. I thought it was Joel.
''Hi, Elli.'' I force a smile.
I look around for Joel, but I don't spot him anywhere.
''Don't worry, I'll take you to him when the change is over.'' he says, and I give him a grateful smile.
I haven't spoken to him since Joel kidnapped him. I couldn't go and speak to him because he said he loved me and I told him that I loved someone else, I broke his heart... and Joel broke his face. And I couldn't face him.
''You look pretty.'' he says.r
''Thank you.'' I smile.
Oh God, can this go any more awkward?
''Change time.'' he says and spins me.
Someone catches me and I look up to make sure that it's Joel. A grin appears on my face when I see that it's him.
''Did he do anything?'' Joel says glaring at Elli, and I roll my eyes.
''No, he didn't.''
I look at Elli and see that he's dancing with Alexa. I frown.
''Alexa's date is Elliot?" I ask.
''Yeah, seems like that.'' Joel answers.
The music is over and me and Joel bow to each other before he takes my hand to lead me to my parents.
''What was all this, pumpkin?" dad asks.
''What was what, Dad?" I ask, acting oblivious.
''My daughters dancing with the Cullen's sons.'' he scoffs.
''Oh, that.'' I say looking at Lucy as she approaches, ''They are our dates for the gala.''
''Your dates?" he raises an eyebrow.
''Yeah.''
''Why?" he asks.
''In order to strengthen our power dad.'' Lucy says and winks at me, ''We look more powerful together.''
''You don't need the Cullens to be powerful, cupcake.'' he takes in a deep breath and me and Lucy glance at each other.
''Christian.'' mom warns.
That was... weird. Why is my father so mad when it comes to the Cullens? He was ready to yell at us...our father never yells at us.
We dance more around with Joel and my feet feel like they have been brutalized.
''Can we go out to take some air?" I ask.
''Sure.'' Joel says.
We leave the ballroom aka cafeteria and head outside to the balcony. Joel leans to the balcony's wall and gazez the full moon in the sky. I go beside him and lean my head to his shoulders.
''The moon is pretty.'' I say.
''Not prettier than you.'' he says looking down at me. ''She must be weeping up there in sky knowing that a girl is prettier than her.'' he says, and I shake my head laughing.
I look at him with my heart full of happiness. He's so perfect. Beautiful and perfect.
He looks tough and mean from the outside, such a devil with a black heart and no soul. But there's someone else deep inside him. A full different person. He's so kind, loving, caring, with the kindest heart ever. He's so sweet that I wouldn't believe it if someone told me that without seeing it with my own eyes. But I saw it, I saw the real him and I'm glad that he showed that to me. I'm glad he showed me who he truly is.
I look at him, his handsome face, his fluffy blonde hair, his ocean blue eyes that hold me in a chokehold and his perfect shaped body and a strong feeling erupts on my chest.
Damn, I love this man so much it will destroy me if I lose him. And I can't lose him.
''Why aren't you wearing a coat?" I ask him. Luke and his father are wearing one meanwhile he isn't.
''I hate it.'' he answers, ''I hate this vest too, but my father forced me to wear it.''
''Why? It looks good on you.'' I say and he smirks.
''Everything looks good on me.''
I open my mouth to disagree with him but then close it again. He's right, everything looks good on him.
''He tried making me wear that stupid coat too, but I insisted not to. He left me in the end.'' he says.
Does his father decide for him what to wear all the time? But I don't ask him that. I know that his father is a painful spot for him, and I know that they don't have a good relationship. I wonder what his relationship with his mother is.
''Why isn't your mother here?" I blurt out. His face turns into a painful frown, and I regret asking him that. ''You don't need to answer if you don't want to.'' I say.
He takes in a deep breath and then answers, ''She can't. My mom doesn't go out of the house.''
''Like literally?" I ask frowning.
''Literally.'' he sighs.
Oh.
''She only goes to the house's gate, not beyond it. I don't know why or what is making her not to. She started not going out when I was six.'' he says and I gasp.
''You were so...little.'' I say.
''I still can hear her screams when father tried to get her out of the gate.'' he says and swallows.
My heart clenches for him.
I wrap my arms around him, holding him tightly in my embrace. He muffles his head in my neck and hugs my waist tightly.
''You and my siblings are all I have Olivia.'' he says, ''Please don't ever leave me.''
''Never.'' I say and place a kiss to his neck.
''You promise?" he pulls away and shows me his pinky finger.
''I promise.'' I say and wrap my finger with his.
Joel
She's so damn beautiful, shining under the moonlight, enchanting as the slow breeze ruffles her hair. So stunning that it blows my senses away. She's brighter than the sun, prettier than any star, more beautiful than anything in this earth.
She's like a dream.
My breath left my lungs, and my soul left my body when I first saw her in that dress. She bewitched me with her mesmerizing beauty. Everything around me vanished and everything that was left was only her, her and her golden aura.
Her presence fills my broken soul with an unknown happiness.
''Tell me what do you like the most about me.'' she says gazing at the starts.
''I like everything about you.'' I say looking at her.
Her head turns at me, her lips parted.
''But there must be something you adore the most.'' she says, ''Come on tell me.''
''Your eyes,'' I start, ''I love your eyes. They are hazel, but not an ordinary hazel. When you're exposed to the sun, they turn green and the brown in them looks like it's drowning in the green field. They look like the forest, trees and soil dancing together. When the sun is gone and there's no light source the brown in them takes over and the green stays silent. The brown color circles the iris and the green one circles the brown, but it only appears when there is light. Your eyes are hypnotizing. Every time I look at them, I find myself looking deeper, trying to find places I have never seen before, trying to enter the forest.'' I finish.
She looks at me in awe, her eyes wide.
''That's beautiful. No one has complimented my eyes before.'' she says. That's a crime because her eyes deserve all the compliments in this world.
''I love your smile too.'' I say, ''It's pure and joyful, so full of life. And I love the sound of your laugh. It brings me peace and happiness. You're full of life, Olivia, never lose your shine.'' I say and she smiles.
''I have to smile more often then.''
''You should.''
''Okay, now it's my turn.'' she says clearing her throat. ''I love your eyes. Do you know what I refer them as?''
''What?" I ask.
''Ocean eyes.'' she says, and I raise an eyebrow.
''Your eyes are like the ocean, deep and beautiful. Every time I look in your eyes, I feel like I'm drowning in them. But more I look into those eyes the more I want to sink deep into them. I want to go to the bottom of this ocean and find the secrets and the pain buried deep into them. Because there is pain in there.'' she taps my chest, ''There is sorrow deep in those eyes and the source is from the heart. You can hide it with your poker face Joel, but I see it in your ocean eyes.'' she says, and I swallow.
''Those eyes are the most beautiful ones I have ever seen. They were the first I noticed when I first saw you. And as time passed, I started to drown deep into them and fall in love with them. I want to heal the pain buried deep in this ocean.'' she says, and I take in a painful breath.
No one knows that I'm in pain. The shields I have built for years are too strong not to let them through. But she noticed.
She noticed that there is something broken in me.
''And your dimples.'' she continues, ''Your dimples are illegal.''Â she adds and I let out a laugh.
''They are so enchanting, and do you know what's more amazing of your dimples?" she says, ''You show them to the people you love; you show them when you truly smile. And my heart feels with joy when I see those dimples.'' she touches my cheek.
''Do you want to know the secrets buried inside the ocean, Olivia?" I say swallowing the lump on my throat.
''Yes.'' she breaths out.
And I tell her. I tell her how my mom is around the house, how much I miss her, I tell her my father's words about me, I tell her the fact that we can't show weakness and that we're trained how to behave, I tell her everything.
''Did you father... I mean, did he-'' she starts after I finish my story.
''If you're asking if my father abuses me then the answer is no.'' I say and she lets out a breath in relief. ''Adam Cullen is everything but an abusive man.''
''You're not a failure or a disappointment or weak Joel.'' she says. It's a bit hard to believe it when my father has been telling me that my whole life, but I nod anyway.
''Joel?"
"Hmm?"
"It's not your fault your father is like that.''
''I know.'' I swallow.
Isn't it actually my fault? It might be me that he's that way. Maybe he wants another different son...someone who is more like Luke.
''I love you, Joel Cullen. '' she says, ''Even if the others don't, I will love you enough for them.''
she adds and my heart fills with love and joy.
''I love you too, Olivia Meyer.'' I say and grab her to kiss her.
We turn to look at the sky, the full of stars and a full moon sky who look like they're eavesdropping on us.
I look down to the garden and my face falls when I spot Avril kissing...Andy fucking Astor.
''What the hell?" I say.
''What is it?" Olivia asks and I point at them.
''Oh my God! They are so lovely.'' she says, and I look at her in disbelief.
What the actual fuck is my sister doing with that idiot?
I'm going to kill him! He dares to touch my sister? Fuck him very much in french.
I turn to walk down toward them, and Olivia grabs my arm.
''Joel, just leave them.''
''Leave them? They're fucking kissing!''
''Andy loves her.'' she says, ''And it's obvious that she loves him too. Just look at them.''
It looks like she loves him, she's all smiley and shiny around him. And he's looking at her like he loves her. Fuck he's looking at her like she's the only girl in this planet.
But seriously? Andy?
I groan and look away from them. Olivia smiles and gives me a kiss.
''God boy.'' she pats my cheek and I roll my eyes.
''How much time do you think we have to hide our relationship before our families find out?" she asks.
''I don't know.'' I sigh, ''But I'm not giving you up, I'm keeping you for forever.'' I grab her waist.
''Me too.'' she says.
''Then we have to find our family secrets if we need to protect our relationship.'' she says, ''Maybe if we find out why we're enemies we can fix it and stop the hatred.''
I nod but I don't believe that would happen.
Whatever happens, I would never give up from Olivia. She's mine now, her father including mine can go fuck themselves.
