Chapter 661: 661: Wife, I adore you!
He Clings to Me Every Night
In this bustling world, each has its own splendor, knowing faces yet not hearts ⦠itâs really hard to say!
Not wanting to invite worry, Olivia Jenkins gave no response, continuing to eat her birdâs nest soup.
Miss Winter lightly tapped on Oliviaâs shoulder, then exited the nanny car.
â¦
After finishing all of todayâs work, the person in charge from each department stayed for a meeting.
By the time the meeting ended, it was already past midnight. The others had left, but Olivia was still doing a rounds of the site.
It wasnât until she exited the large factory building that she realized it was raining heavily, and the temperature had dropped.
Unexpectedly, an extra thick coat appeared on Olivia. She was also being held in a warm embrace.
A very familiar feeling instantly overwhelmed her. Olivia was stunned for a few seconds before lifting her head in surprise.
As expected, it was Daniel Marshall. He was still holding her tightly.
Oliviaâs voice was cool, and she spoke in a calm tone, âLet go of me!â
âItâs cold, be careful not to catch a chill. Let me take you home,â Danielâs voice was a little hoarse but gentle, and he coughed from time to time.
âThank you, but I have a car,â Olivia struggled, trying to push Daniel away.
Daniel just wouldnât let go, still hugging Olivia tightly. âItâs raining so heavily and you donât have an umbrella. I wonât allow you to run out in the rain. Itâs quite a distance from here to the parking lot. I just saw the security guard go on his rounds and he wonât be back for a while. You canât just stand here in the wind.â
âWeâre already preparing to separate, and yet you keep talking incessantly. Let me tell you, I donât care!â Unable to break free from Danielâs grip, Olivia glared at him fiercely.
Danielâs voice was still filled with tenderness, cooing her in a pampered tone, âDarling, I care about you! Thereâs no separation, youâll always be my wife.â
âNarcissist! I really want to slap you several times!â
âHoney, are you feeling warmer in my arms? Letâs go together. I have an umbrella â the wind out here is strong and not good for you.â
Glaring at Daniel, Olivia involuntarily blinked her eyes.
The wind here was very strong, and the rain was drifting over, but Daniel was using his tall and sturdy body to protect her from the wind and rain.
Olivia still remember what Auntie Jane said, Daniel had just been discharged from the hospital this afternoon. His cough hadnât completely subsided and if he stood in this wind, he might catch a cold and worsen his condition.
This bastard really was too stubborn and shameless!
After hesitating for a moment, Oliviaâs heart softened. âThen letâs go. When we get to my car, Iâll drive myself.â
With one hand holding the umbrella, Daniel happily hugged Olivia with the other, and they slowly walked in the rain.
Olivia noticed that the umbrella Daniel was holding tilted mostly towards her, completely shielding her from the drifting rain. He hadnât considered himself who just got discharged from the hospital at all.
Inexplicably, Oliviaâs heart was filled with indescribable emotions and a trace of melancholy.
Oliviaâs brows furrowed unconsciously.
Exactly like Miss Winter had said- when he angered her, she really felt like wanting to strangle Daniel, wishing that he would roll away, so far that heâd disappear completely without a care.
But when she calmed down, he would make a small step forward and her heart would be filled with mixed emotions. She was no longer that angry, and somehow they would revert back to their normal interactions.
It was undeniable that Daniel was despicable, but he also had his good side, which made it impossible for one to completely deny him.
âShield yourself from the rain too. Donât catch a cold and put the blame on me.ân/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
His wife was caring about him. A genuine smile arose on Danielâs lips, and the sparkles in his deep eyes became even more brilliant.
