Chapter 796: 796: You Should Reflect On Yourself
He Clings to Me Every Night
The living room was so quiet that it seemed you could hear a pin drop, but Auntie Jane dared not come out.
Auntie Jane also felt the chilliness that flowed from the living room, as if harsh winter had arrived.
Auntie Jane sighed, remaining silent.
Suddenly, the sound of a car was heard and Daniel hurriedly walked out.
It was Oliviaâs car returning home, but surprisingly, the driver was Benjamin Johnson.
For a moment, a cold glance flashed in Danielâs eyes as if it could kill.
Benjamin Johnson got out of the car, and Daniel immediately swung a punch at him.
Benjamin Johnson couldnât avoid it in time and took a punch from Daniel.
Gently touching his mouth corner, Benjamin Johnson stared at Daniel sharply, âFor Oliviaâs sake, I wonât pick a fight with you, but Daniel, you need to reflect on yourself. Canât you see that your wife is exhausted? Canât you see she has something on her mind? Have you cared about her at all?â
âOur marital affair is none of your business. Keep your distance from my wife,â Daniel shot back, his dark eyes glaring fiercely at Benjamin Johnson, a trace of intense cold flashing across Danielâs aloof handsome face.
Ignoring Daniel, Benjamin Johnson straightened his clothes and walked away, not waking Olivia.@@novelbin@@
Moreover, if their heated argument didnât wake Olivia, that showed how deeply she was sleeping. Perhaps, she wasnât feeling well or was just too exhausted.
It wasnât that Benjamin Johnson didnât dare fight back, he simply didnât want to stoop to Danielâs level out of respect for Olivia.
Glaring at Benjamin Johnsonâs retreating figure, Auntie Janeclosed the front door.
Only then did Daniel carry Olivia up the stairs.
Lately, he had been busy taking care of Grace Ziegler, and had neglected Olivia while worrying about Graceâs emotional well-being.
Looking at Olivia sleeping soundly, Daniel felt deeply guilty.
Tomorrow, he vowed to spend more time with Olivia.
â¦
Upon waking up, Olivia still felt a bit dizzy and slightly nauseous.
She lay down for a while before feeling a bit better.
Perhaps, her health actually was having issues because she never felt like this before.
âWifey, Good morning!â Danielâs deep voice sounded next to Oliviaâs ears. He even planted a kiss on Oliviaâs lips.
Olivia looked over the edge of the bed, her eyes meeting Danielâs.
Seeing Daniel, Olivia didnât smile. She just slightly fluttered her eyelashes.
âWifey, didnât get enough sleep, huh? Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere? If you want, take a break today. I can accompany you to the resort for relaxation.â
Whoosh, Olivia sat up. Daniel immediately got her a coat and increased the room temperature.
Oliviaâs face was devoid of any emotion as she softly said, âIâm fine, Iâve slept enough. The third quarter is about to end, and I need to compile reports. Maybe Iâll take a break during the holiday in a few days.â
âDo you need my help? Remember to rest. Donât tire yourself.â
âNo, I can manage. I just need to compile some data. Be assured, I will rest. Last night was just an exception.â
Setting down her words, Olivia went to freshen up.
At his spot, Daniel watched Olivia, âWifey, Iâll have Auntie Jane cook dumpling soup for you.â
âOkay.â
Daniel approached. From behind Olivia, he hugged her and said, âWifey, if you have something on your mind, feel free to share it with me. I donât want you holding it in and feeling upset.â
Olivia looked at their reflection in the mirror, nodded, and continued brushing her teeth.
Daniel gave Olivia a deep look before heading downstairs.
Daniel could feel that since his return, Olivia was not as loving towards him as before. There was a sense of distance between them.
Daniel also felt that Olivia indeed had something on her mind.
Downstairs in the living room, Daniel asked Auntie Jane inquisitively, âHas madam been unhappy recently? Has she displayed any unusual behaviors?â
