Chapter 226
The Unfaithful Mr. Scott ( Melanie Smith )
Chapter 226
Setting aside everything else, Melanie wanted to get involved with Blue Inc.
However, as soon as she arrived at the company, she saw Viola again. Melanie frowned
slightly. She was about to say something when Viola stood up with a sincere expression on her
face.
âMelanie, Mr. Scott asked me to learn from you first, so from now on, Iâll be part of the secretaryâs office.â
The idea left her uncomfortable. Melanie wondered why Eugene chose this moment to assign Viola to her. Did he think that embarrassing her was not enough?
However, Viola seemed to have truly learned her lesson this time as she spent the whole morning obediently following Melanie and shadowing her.
At the end of the lunch break, she even handed over a set of documents to her and apologized. âMelanie, these are the materials you asked me to organize last time. Iâve done it. Would you like to take a look?â
âIs this the classification of Blu Incâs products?â
âYes.â
Melanie did not even look up. âNo need. Iâve already sorted it out.â
She was not lying. When Viola failed to complete the task the other day, she took the work back and finished it herself. She did not like to procrastinate in her work. Since she was particularly devoted to the Blue Inc. project, she took matters into her own hands.
However, Violaâs face suddenly turned gloomy and her gaze downcast as she said, âSorry, Melanie. Itâs my fault.â
Melanie paused slightly but did not say much.
Viola did not need Melanie to comfort her since Eugene was more concerned about her than anyone else. However, with Viola standing there, looking as if she had been scolded, anyone would think it was Melanie who had scolded her.
Melanie could also feel the judgmental stares from those around them.
With a blank expression, she said, âIf thereâs nothing else, go home. Itâs the end of the workday.â
Without waiting for Violaâs reaction, Melanie left for the cafeteria. Yana followed her and asked with some hesitation, âMelanie, Viola wonât actually be staying in the secretaryâs office, will she?â
Many rumors were circulating in the company, most of them suggesting that Viola would replace Melanie in the future.
Melanie replied calmly, âI donât know. The company will make its arrangements.â
âYou werenât here yesterday, so you didnât see how she was trying to win people over in the office with drinks and cakes. She was handing out sweets everywhere as if she was already the companyâs bossâ wife.â

Yana continued to chatter as she followed Melanie. Melanie listened without reacting much. However, she did advise Yana to not talk like that.
Yana then realized they were in the cafeteria, where there were many people around. She quickly closed her mouth.
Melanie calculated the time until her resignation and began organizing some documents. The secretaryâs office was busy, and the handover process would be troublesome.
Seeing Melanie preparing for her departure, Yana looked at her a little reluctantly and said, â Melanie, where will you be working next? How about I join you?â
Melanie, of course, did not take the remark seriously. She just replied, âI havenât decided yet.â
However, Viola happened to catch her statement as she was passing by. She hesitated before looking at Melanie and tentatively asking, âMelanie, you havenât found a new job yet? Why resign, then?
âI even told Mr. Scott how I thought you had found a better company to move on to.â
Melanie paused and then looked at the seemingly innocent Viola.
Suddenly, she understood what Viola reminded her a small thorn stuck in her side. It was nothing very impactful, but it would occasionally reveal itself to prick her. It was annoying and irritating.
Violaâs presence annoyed her.
