Chapter 521
The Unfaithful Mr. Scott ( Melanie Smith )
Chapter 521
Cedricâs voice carried an indescribable sense of authority, and no one else was in the living room apart from him.
Eugeneâs initially calm face turned cold instantly as his dark eyes fixed on Cedric. Before he could speak, a sterner reprimand came from behind him. âDid you not hear what I said back then? You have the nerve to tell Eugene what to do now?!â
With Landonâs support, Henry slowly entered the living room. Despite nearing his 80s, the air around him was as domineering as it had been when he was in his younger years.
Glaring at Cedric, he said, âDonât talk about what he promised you. Think back to what you agreed to me back then and tell me you still have the nerve to bring it up!â
Cedric did not expect Eugene to bring the old man over. The anger on his face froze for a moment and then slowly receded. Frowning, he asked, âDad, why did you come?â
âWould you even remember that you have a father if I didnât?â Henry snorted in an unfriendly manner. âThe Scott family hasnât fallen to the point where we need Eugene to enter a forced marriage. You listen here, I donât agree with this.â
Helpless, Cedric tried to coax his father, âDad, you havenât even met Evelyn yet. Both Stella and I think sheâs a good woman worth marrying. If you meet her, youâll surely like her too.â
The old man raised a brow at that. âYou and Stella think sheâs worth marrying? If you think sheâs worth marrying, then you marry her.â
After saying this, Henry looked at Eugene and said, âLetâs go. Take me back now.â
Cedricâs expression was thunderous now, but he could not refute it. He looked at Eugene with a gloomy expression. âCome to the study. I have something to discuss with you.â
When he saw his father about to speak up again, he added, âItâs about work.â
After saying that, he turned and entered the study. Henry looked at Eugene and shook his head gently.
When Eugene entered the study, Cedric threw a set of documents at him. âLeapCoâs recent decline in performance has already affected the overall company.â
Cedric fixed his gloomy gaze on Eugene and said, âDo you think the shareholders in the company have no opinions?â
Eugene knew better than anyone else considering what had happened recently. He picked up the documents and flipped through them. His gaze wavered slightly, his lips slowly pursing into a tight line.
Snorting disdainfully, Cedric looked at Eugene mockingly and continued, âAnd you still wish to enter the headquarters in your current state?â
Eugene gradually gathered his thoughts after hearing this remark. Frowning slightly, he replied, âLeapCo is already considering the best solution.â
âThe best solution is to marry Evelyn!â Cedric roared harshly. âSheâs the Shue familyâs only daughter, and Peyton is the one supporting her. If youâre smart, hurry up and marry Evelyn!â
Cedricâs tone became more urgent, so much so that anyone who was unaware might actually think he genuinely cared about Eugene. However, the words he spoke were harsh, and they pushed Eugene into a corner.
Eugene could not suppress the disgust in his eyes. He lowered his gaze slightly. His voice wa cold and deep as he asked, âDid you marry my mom back then with such intentions?
Unable to contain his emotions anymore, he looked up. âSo, what benefits have you gained? Did you force your childhood sweetheart to the point of jumping off a building?
âOr do you and my mom despise each other, but you donât dare to divorce her due to pressure from the Hel family?â
âRotten child!â Cedricâs voice sounded. The moment the words left his mouth, a teacup flew toward Eugene. The purple clay cup hit Eugeneâs shoulder, causing him to grunt in pain. Cedric shot him an intense glare. âIs this the attitude you use to talk to me? Or do you think you can do whatever you want with your grandfather supporting you?â
At this moment, Cedric resembled a wild beast that had its tail stepped on.
âDonât think I donât know what youâre thinking! But donât forget, you agreed to my terms at the start for a reason. I advise you not to harbor those unrealistic fantasies anymore. I can throw Melanie into prison for the rest of her life as long as I say the word!â
