Chapter 538
The Unfaithful Mr. Scott ( Melanie Smith )
Chapter 538
âThereâs a lot to do at LeapCo. I donât have time to be anyoneâs teacher,â Eugene said stoically with a cold look in his eye.
âEugeneâ¦â Stella wanted to say something.
However, Evelyn stopped her. âItâs normal for Eugene to think that. After all, thereâs a lot of work to do at a company like LeapCo.â
She looked at Eugene after that. âI heard that LeapCo hires interns every quarter. I can start as an intern.â
Eveyln may have compromised, but there was no room for negotiation from the way she spoke. Instead, it sounded more like she was informing Eugene about her decision.
No one could tell what Eugene was thinking. He replied nonchalantly after a while, âDo what you want.â
Evelyn smiled. âAlright. Thank you, Mr. Scott.
Melanie glanced at Evelyn when she replied so casually.
Evelyn noticed her looking over and stared back at Melanie calmly. There was a look of victory in her eyes that was clear to see.
Melanie looked down and stopped staring at Evelyn.
She was here for something else. She was not concerned with whatever Evelyn was doing at LeapCo.
âGet out if thereâs nothing else,â Eugene spoke stoically. Melanie looked up and met his cold eyes.
Eugene looked back at her and said with indifference, his tone lower than usual, âIf you want this solved, get Xander Solomon to come here personally with the contract.â
Melanie was taken aback. She exhaled quietly and said, âIâm here to see you about something else.â
âTalk.â
Eugeneâs expression was stoic, and Melanie was silent for a while. Stella and Evelyn were still there, but she decided to go ahead and say, âWhy are you stopping me from suing Viola?â
Her question was straight to the point, and she looked Eugene directly in the eye.
Melanie thought Eugene would at least react to her questioning, but he remained cold and distant. There was no emotion in his voice when he replied, âDo you expect me to help you instead?â
There was a flash in Melanieâs eyes. âIsnât it enough that she has caused damage to LeapCo by leaking company information?â
Eugene looked down at her with a frosty look in his eyes. No one could tell what he was thinking.
All he said was, âWho are you to care about LeapCoâs damages when I donât mind it at all?â
There was a small, taunting smile on his lips as he reminded her, âYou have nothing to do with LeapCo anymore, Melanie. Itâs not your place to worry about the company.â
Melanie felt like she could hardly breathe when she heard this. She composed herself and said in a low voice, âItâs true that I no longer have anything to do with LeapCo, but Viola indirectly caused my grandfatherâs death. This has nothing to do with you, but youâre protecting her.
She said this in a low voice as if she was holding back her emotions. However, she said each word clearly and crisply.
Melanie looked at Eugene and asked, âWhatâs so great about Viola that youâre unable to tell right from wrong because of her?â
