Chapter 559
The Unfaithful Mr. Scott ( Melanie Smith )
Chapter 559
Looking disappointed, Henry held Melanieâs arm silently for a long time without knowing what to say.
Melanie felt bad seeing Henryâs disappointment. She felt as if she was holding onto something, and it
suffocated her.
Clara held Henry and looked at Melanie apologetically. âIâll take Henry back home first. Youâ¦â
Before Clara could finish, Melanie said in a husky voice, âDonât worry about me. Grandpa Henryâs health is more important.â
Clara nodded and helped Henry walk.
Melanie wanted to see Henry off, but she stopped when she looked at Henryâs hunched back.
She did not know how to face Henry.
Not to mention explaining this to him.
She felt like a dumb person, unable to speak out for herself.
However, Henry turned around. He looked older, and even his wrinkles were noticeable.
He glanced at Melanieâs belly before looking at her face. After a while, he sighed and said, âI will not
be at ease to let you go back alone after seeing you being so nauseous.â
Melanie felt worse upon receiving Henryâs kindness.
She felt like crying.
Noticing Melanieâs stare, Henry signed and said, âThis matter is shocking. Mel, please give me some time to accept it. You are pregnant now, and I wonât be that muddle-headed to dump you here just
like that.â
Melanie had been pondering Henryâs reaction upon knowing she was pregnant. He might be disappointed or even stay away from her, yet she did not see this coming.
She pursed her lips and did not know how to react.
Clara hid her surprised expression and reminded Melanie. âSince Henry said so, accept his offer. After all, your place isnât far from ours.â
No one spoke along the way home.
When Melanie stepped out of the car, Henry asked her, âCan you tell me who the childâs father is?â
He asked reluctantly.
Melanie did not know how to lie about that. After all, it would not be nice to use another manâs name.
Henry saw her hesitation and sighed again. âForget it. Does Eugene know about it?â

âI didnât tell him.â
Henry still looked like he had plenty of things to say to Melanie. However, Melanie knew she could not say much and thanked them before leaving.
Henry looked at Melanieâs slim back in the car, and it looked like he was pondering something
Clara lamented, âItâs unexpected that Melanie is pregnant.â
Henryâs expression turned cold as he snorted. âThat brat doesnât know how to cherish Melanie. Serves him right! He will regret it one day.â
Clara froze. âIt seems like she doesnât plan to let Eugene know.â
âThe brat has done something like that to Mel. Of course, she wonât want him to know!â Henry was so pissed off, and his chest heaved.
Clara comforted him. âDonât be mad. Just let him be.â
âI will be happier without my son and grandson!â Henry snapped. Everyone in the Scott family was useless, and he was annoyed to see them like that.
Clara did not know what to do and instructed the driver to send Henry home.
Melanie thought Henry needed a long time to accept it.
However, Clara came to visit the next day.
Behind her were two nannies with lots of goody bags in their hands.
Melanie was taken aback. âMadam Franklin, why are you here?â
Feeling helpless, Clara said, âHenry asked someone to send these to me, saying they are for you. He wants you to look after yourself and not tire yourself during pregnancy.â
Melanie looked at the supplements in the nannyâs hand and hesitated before saying, âI am fine. I canât accept these.â.
Clara wore a fitting dress and looked elegant in it.
