Lord Chapter 167
The Almighty Lord Caspian
Chapter 167 An Insincere Offer
Nicholas, who had been drowning in despair, immediately perked up when he heard his motherâs suggestion.
Susan filled him in on the plan she came up with.
âWouldnât we be going a bit too far? Itâs a crime,â Vince said worriedly.
âHow can you say that? Nicholas was such a handsome young man, but look at him now. Caspian disfigured him. He doesnât even dare to leave the house anymore. What weâre doing is nothing compared to what Caspian did,â Susan insisted.
âIâll only have the courage to live if I get my hands on Willow. Otherwise, sooner or later, Iâll take my own life!â Nicholas declared.
Having spent all his time inside the house, he had lost a lot of his vigor for life.
âAlright. Weâll do as you suggested, but Iâm worried that Willow wonât even agree to work with us,â Vince said.
âSouthlake Corporation nearly went bankrupt a while back. Even though they bought over a few companies and managed to stabilize their operations, itâs going to be a huge challenge for them to go up against Glorious Group.
âOur family business is wellâestablished. If Southlake Corporation agrees to work with us, itâll be very beneficial for the company. Since it involves the companyâs interests, Iâm sure she wonât reject it!â Nicholas declared with confidence.
He thought Susanâs idea was an excellent one. This was probably his last chance to get his
hands on Willow.
âFine. Weâll invite Willow to a meeting tonight. Make the preparations, Nicholas,â Vince said.
Inside the CEOâs office at Southlake Corporation, Willow was so busy that her head was
spinning.
Just then, she received a call from an unfamiliar number.
âHello, who is this?â Willow asked.
âMs. Stewart? Iâm Vince Archer.â The man on the other end of the line introduced himself.
Upon hearing the name, Willow frowned. She knew who he was, of course. Archer Group was a prominent company in Southlake City.
âMay I ask why youâre calling?â Willow asked curtly. She assumed Vince was calling to demand

Not too long ago, Casplan had disfigured Nicholas, and the Archers would not stand by and do nothing.
âArcher Group is keen to collaborate with Southlake Corporation, Ms. Stewart. Is Southlake Corporation looking for partners in any of their projects?â Vince asked.
Willow was taken aback. What did the Archers mean by this?
Caspian had ruined Nicholasâ face. Yet, not only were the Archers not fighting back, but they were even suggesting a potential partnership. Willow could not help but feel skeptical.
âIsnât Archer Group involved in a project with Glorious Group? Why are you suggesting a collaboration with me?â Willow asked doubtfully.
âWe have terminated our partnership with Glorious Group. After all, Southlake Corporation has been established for over a decade. It has a good network of resources. I believe if Archer Group wants to focus on longâterm development, itâs better to work with you instead,â Vince stated.
âBut my husband disfigured your son. Donât you want revenge?â Willow said. She did not think they would let the matter slide just like that.
âLetâs not bring that up anymore. Nicholas was in the wrong. Besides, thatâs a personal matter. It has nothing to do with business. Since weâre running a company, we should focus on the companyâs best interests.
âAs long as thereâs profit to be made, we can all be friends. I hope you can consider working with us, Ms. Stewart,â Vince said. He had come up with that excuse to persuade Willow.
âItâs good that you think so. As businesspeople, itâs only natural to prioritize the companyâs best interests. If youâre keen to work with Southlake Corporation, we can pick a time to discuss the deal in further detail. Iâll be sure to offer the best project to you!â Willow said with a
chuckle.
âThank you very much, Ms. Stewart. Iâm sure Southlake Corporation will soar to greater heights and defeat Glorious Group,â Vince replied.
Even though Southlake Corporation was no longer facing a crisis, its position in the business world would be strengthened if it partnered up with Archer Group.
âBy the way, Ms. Stewart, I hope we can meet at Harvest Hotel to discuss the finer details. What do you say?â Vince finally voiced his true intent.
Willow heard of Harvest Hotel before. It belonged to the Archers.
After the incident at Silverstone Hotel, she felt more cautious about going to hotels, especially one that belonged to the Archers.
Truth be told, she did not want to go over there.
However, Southlake Corporation needed more business partners, so in the end, Willow decided to agree to the meeting.
âAlright. Letâs meet at Harvest Hotel at 6:00 pm today,â Willow said after estimating the amount of time she needed to finish up her work.
It would not be safe if she went over any later.
She hoped she would be able to finish the negotiations as early as possible.
âGood. I look forward to working with you, Ms. Stewart!â Vince replied.
Caspian, who had nothing else to do, came to Southlake Hospital again.
Thanks to Avonâs treatment, Lana and Elias were almost fully recovered.
Lanaâs mood had improved a lot.
âCaspian, this doctor friend of yours is a miracle doctor! My dad has almost fully recovered from his injury!â Stephanie said in excitement.
She had been accompanying Elias the whole time and seen how he got better each day.
âLet Avon take a look at your mother, too. Now that Mr. Wildman is on the mend, Iâm sure Mrs. Wildman is very happy. Iâll try and find a way to let you return to your teaching position.â
Caspian abruptly recalled that Stephanieâs mother, Veronica, seemed to be a little mentally unwell.
âAlright. Thank you, Caspian. Do you think I still have a chance to teach again?â Stephanie asked with a sigh.
âDonât worry. Youâre an excellent teacher. Itâd be a great loss to our nation if you donât get to continue teaching students!â Caspian firmly declared.
âDonât tease me. Southlake City High School wonât be affected by my absence,â Stephanie said as she shook her head. She did not believe she could go back to her teaching position.
Nevertheless, she was happy that Elias could make a full recovery.
Just then, Caspian received a call from Sylvia. He left the hospital ward to take the call.
She only called when she had important matters to report to him.
Caspian found an isolated spot before answering the call.
âWhat is it?â he asked.

âGlorious Group has made a move, Caspian! Last night, we tailed the special forces soldiers. from that company, and they went to Dragonâs Hill in the middle of the night!â Sylvia reported.
âDragonâs Hill? Why did they go there?â Caspian asked puzzledly.
Previously, he and Macy had gone over to Dragonâs Hill to save a young girl.
âIt looks like theyâre digging for something,â Sylvia replied.
âDigging for something?â
Caspian was stunned.
He instantly recalled the strange tracks he saw at Dragonâs Hill the last time, as well as the dark underground passage behind the thicket.
Could it be that they had gone treasure hunting in Dragonâs Hill? Caspian found it hard to believe that.
The special forces soldiers hidden within Glorious Group came from Tigra. They would not be digging into the mountain for no reason. There had to be some sort of secret behind this!
âLooks like theyâre searching for something.â Caspian deduced with conviction.
âI think so, too!â Sylvia agreed.
