Everyone present was caught off guard by Caspian suddenly opening fire.
Kate had also fallen onto the ground following the gunshot.
To everyoneâs surprise, Kate was unharmed.
Caspian had shot the ground instead of killing her.
Kate had fainted on the ground and took a minute to regain her consciousness.
Caspian felt much better after watching her faint on the ground and thinking that she had died.
He coldly asked, âTell me! Why do you treat Willow so badly?â
Kate was still trembling with fear as she woke up in a confused state. She had only managed to confirm that she was still alive when Caspian shouted at her.
She felt that she had come back to life after dying once.
Kate took a long time before coming back to her senses.
âWillow⦠isnât actually my own daughter.â
She finally spilled the truth out of fear.
She was afraid that Caspian might kill her for real.
Caspian was surprised that his intuition about Willow and Kate not being biologically related
was correct.
âWas Willow adopted?â asked Caspian.
âIâm her stepmother. Her real biological mother is a woman called Irene Olson. She left the Stewarts after she gave birth to Willow,â answered Kate.
âWhy did she leave the family for no reason?â
âShe was actually kicked out of the house by Carlâs grandmother, whoâs also Willowâs great- grandmother. She was the matriarch of the family at the time.â
Caspian was utterly confused. âWhy did Willowâs greatâgrandmother do that?â
He still needed more information from Kate.
âShe felt that Irene was not a great match for her grandson and thus kicked her out of the house. Irene was just a normal girl from a normal family. Nothing she could do would ever elevate her standing to match the Stewartsâ.
âWillowâs greatâgrandmother felt that bringing Irene into the family was a disgraceful act.â

Caspian was enraged by the revelation.
âThis is ridiculous! Who do the Stewarts think they are? Theyâre just a bunch of scums that take advantage of everyone they can lay their hands on for their own benefit! Every single one of the Stewarts is unsalvageable trash!â
He didnât expect that Willow had such a twisted backstory.
He co
composed himself and asked, âSo, whereâs Willowâs biological mother now?â
Kate explained, âI donât know. She used to live in Easton. Carl had tried to look for her multiple times since she left the family. Iâve even gotten into an argument with Carl for this matter, calling him unfaithful for still trying to contact his former wife.â
She was truly spilling her guts out without holding onto any more secrets. She was hoping for a chance to be freed.
âIâve told you everything I know. Please, let me go.â
She didnât want to die just yet.
âSure. Consider this as thanks for raising Willow throughout her life.â
He understood that killing Kate wouldnât change history and wouldnât bring Lilith back from the dead.
He decided to spare Kateâs life as she had also never expected Lilith to be met with an early grave after kicking her out of the house that night.
âCan I go now?â asked Kate.
She didnât dare to move without Caspianâs permission.
Caspian coldly explained, âYou may go after youâve apologized to my mother!â
Kate immediately crawled toward Lilithâs tombstone and began to grovel desperately.
âIâm sorry, Lilith! Itâs my fault for kicking you out of the house that night! Maybe you wouldnât have died otherwise! I only hope that youâll forgive me and move on!
Caspian felt relieved as he watched Kate grovel for mercy in front of Lilithâs tombstone.
âThatâs enough. Get lost already. I donât want anyone to hear about what happened here today.
Kate nodded and scrambled to escape from the cemetery.
Both Sylvia and Macy let out a sigh of relief as they watched Caspian spare Kateâs life.
âCaspian, what are your orders?â asked Sylvia.

âI need you to restore Ms. Wildmanâs job as a teacher. Kindly ask the education ministry officials why they decided to fire such an excellent teacher like Ms. Wildman!â
Sylvia nodded her head. âYes, sir!â
Caspian moved on to his next task, which was to deal with Belvin and Jeremy.
Meanwhile, Avon had arrived at Stephanieâs home to check up on her parents.
Now that Stephanieâs problems were resolved, Veronica had fully recovered from her momentary insanity due to stress.
Both Lana and Elias had also made a full recovery.
Everyone involved had resumed their normal lives.
Stephanie had invited Avon to her house to show gratitude..
Avon accepted the invitation as he felt bad for declining such an enthusiastic invitation from Stephanie.
He joined the Wildmans for a meal at the dining table, and they began to chatter.
âDr. Long, how old are you? Do you have a partner?â asked Veronica.
âIâm 28 years old⦠And I donât have a partner,â answered Avon.
He was taken aback by the sudden questioning.
âThatâs perfect! What do you think of our daughter? Youâre around the same age. Why donât the two of you get together? Youâll be a good match!â
Avon awkwardly answered, âHuh? Well⦠Ms. Wildman is very pretty and has a nice
personality. Iâm sure sheâs famous with her peers.â
Stephanie patted Veronica on the back to try and stop her from causing trouble for Avon.
Avon and Stephanie met each otherâs gaze and felt a tinge of electrocution run through their hearts.
He had quite a good impression of Stephanie as he had never managed to meet a gentle woman like her in the military.
The only problem was that he didnât dare try to make any advances on Caspianâs teacher.
Elias tried to steer the conversation away. âThatâs enough. Please, eat up!â
Everyone continued to enjoy the meal.
Avon couldnât help but wonder what would happen if Caspian found out that he was trying to
