Lord Chapter 49
The Almighty Lord Caspian
Chapter 49 A False Joy
âWeâll wait outside; time waits for no one. You get in first,â Sylvia whispered to Caspian by her side.
While Caspian and Slyvia were talking, Kate, Willow, and Carl had already entered the villa.
When they stepped inside, Kate, Willow, and Carl were shocked by everything they saw.
The interior of the villa was extremely luxurious, equipped with everything one could only imagine. It truly
lived up to its value of billions.
Jordan, the young millionaire, was surprisingly extravagant.
âSylvia, before I leave, thereâs something I want you to do, and I want you to do it personally,â Caspian told
Sylvia beside him.
âAt your command, Lord Caspian,â Sylvia nodded.
âI want you to go to the countryside outside Southlake City and bring my foster mother here,â Caspian
said.
âFoster mother? Lord Caspian, Iâve never heard that you have a foster mother,â Sylvia said with confusion.
âThat was many years ago,â Caspian said while he was lost in deep thought.
It was a stormy night with pouring rain when Caspian, still a baby, was placed in a box and abandoned at
his foster motherâs doorstep.
His foster mother was also living alone at the time. When she heard the crying and saw the infant, she took pity on him and took him in. On the box that held Caspian, there were faint bloodstains.
These things were only revealed to Caspian by his foster mother later on.
Although Lilithâs family conditions were average, she did her best to provide the best for Caspian.
As Caspian grew up, he joined the military and gradually rose to become the lord of Diadem Hall!
His achievements today were closely intertwined with his foster mother, Lilith.
âLord, why didnât you tell me earlier so that I could make some arrangements for her to live a better life?â
Sylvia asked as she was puzzled.
âMy surroundings are too sensitive, and I didnât want anyone to exploit the relationship between my foster, mother and me. Thatâs why I kept her out of the public eye. If I had allowed her to attend the wedding, it
would have caused more chaos.

âI simply wanted her to have a happy and stable life in her old age,â Caspian calmly explained. âNow that I am about to embark on another mission, I wonât be able to visit her frequently.
âThatâs why I want you to bring her to the villa, so she can live a worry-free life. Itâs my way of showing respect, and it will also give me peace of mind while Iâm at the border.â
âUnderstood, Lord Caspian. Iâll take care of it immediately,â Sylvia nodded.
She understood that she had to personally address Caspianâs concerns.
Driving the off-road vehicle, Sylvia prepared to head to the address Caspian mentioned.
Meanwhile, Caspian entered the villa from the outside.
Upon seeing him, Kate approached and asked, âCaspian, my son-in-law, you seem to be someone
significant. The wedding was so grand, with notable figures from all over the country bringing gifts to
congratulate you both.â
Besides Kate, Willow and Carl were also eager to know everything about Caspian.
âIâm just a retired soldier,â Caspian replied, choosing not to disclose his true identity.
He was wary that someone with Kateâs personality might become boastful if she knew the truth. Thus, he
decided to keep his real identity a secret.
Willow and Carl were also somewhat surprised to hear Caspianâs response.
âHow is that possible? If youâre just a mere soldier, why would the renowned senior military officer, John, personally attend your wedding in South Aridlands?
âAnd why would there be such a deployment of armed forces, even with armored vehicles and fighter jets
as escorts?â
Kate, to some extent, had a sharp mind.
Caspianâs words made it difficult for her to believe him.
âI mentioned to Willow before that I saved the life of a superior officer, who happens to be John. I helped
him resolve three assassination attempts and also recovered stolen goods.
âAs for the deployment of armed forces, it was all to protect John. After all, he is a senior military officer, and we canât afford any mishaps.â
Caspian casually fabricated a reason that coincided with what he had previously told Willow.
âThatâs absolutely impossible. Even if John was truly saved by you, what about the young elites from the

across the country?
âWhy would they all come to attend your and Willowâs wedding?â Kate still had some doubts and
continued to question him.
âThose were all Johnâs arrangements,â Caspian replied.
âWhy would John invite these people?â Kate continued to ask.
âWith the current situation in South Aridlands, Sylvia wants me to return to the frontlines. I made a promise to Willow that I would give her an incredibly grand wedding, so I asked John for help to invite
more renowned individuals. This would make the whole wedding appear more magnificent.
âOtherwise, I wouldnât agree to go to the frontline in South Aridlands. As a mid-level military officer, Sylvia knows almost all of these influential families in the imperial capital. With just a word from her, these
people would show respect and give their support,â Caspian explained.
âWhy would they insist on sending you to the frontlines in South Aridlands when youâre just a former soldier and a personal b*dyguard?â Kate asked again. âAnd why are so many people coming forward to
support you?â
âItâs true that I am just a personal b*dyguard, but I am crucial to the safety of high-ranking officers. Without my protection, their lives would be greatly at risk. Additionally, I have a significant influence on
the border situation,â Caspian explained.
âHow much influence can you possibly have?â Kate skeptically questioned.
âThat is classified military information,â Caspian stated.
âSigh, itâs all just false joy. I really thought you were some remarkable figure.â Kateâs mood plummeted
from heaven to hell as she found it hard to accept.
âRegardless, Caspianâs promise has been fulfilled, and such a grand wedding has taken place. Our relatives should regard us differently now,â Carl said.
âWhat do you know? What significance does a wedding hold? He saved General Andersen before, but now that he has returned the favor, the debt is settled. If we ever need help in the future, they wonât lend a
hand,â Kate shook her head and said.
âAs long as we live peacefully and be independent, it wonât be necessary to ask for favors from others. Now that Caspian and Willow have such a nice villa and two luxury cars, itâs already quite good,â Carl said.
âAlright, let it be. Anyway, this villa is really nice, and since there are so many vacant rooms, we want to
live here together too. Caspian, you wouldnât mind, would you?â Kate said.

Caspian was somewhat surprised by Kateâs request. Internally, he was somewhat resistant, but he didnât want to directly refuse, so he simply nodded and said, âItâs up to you. I will be heading to South Aridlands
soon,â
âCaspian, when will you be going to South Aridlands?â Willow asked, only now realizing that Caspian was going to the front lines. She felt both worried and reluctant in her heart.
âIâll leave in two hours,â Caspian said.
âThat soon?â Willow was surprised. The time frame was too tight.
âYes, the frontlines are engulfed in battle. I must depart immediately.â Caspian nodded.
âCome to my room later. I have something to ask you.â Willowâs face flushed slightly.
âAlright.â Caspian also had something to discuss with Willow, so they went upstairs together.
