Little Things

It was always little things.

Being a detective, Singh made it a habit to notice small details.

So he did.

He noticed many many small things. Many little things all pointing to one big thing.

Barry Allen was the Flash.

And how did he know that?

It was all the little things.

INSTANCE 1

Barry walked into the precinct that morning, late as usual.

Singh sighed as the tall kid tried to make it to his lab unnoticed.

"Allen!" Singh yelled.

Barry winced and made his way over to Singh.

Barry rubbed his neck, "Sorry I'm late sir..."

"Allen," Singh said, then paused. He smelled something odd. He smelled burning rubber. He glanced down at Barry's shoes and noticed that they were extremely worn through.

"Yes?" Barry asked, bringing Singh out of his thoughts.

"Just try not to be late so much." Singh said, rubbing his brow and waving him off. His mind was now otherwise occupied and he didn't care to deal with the chronically late CSI with  worn shoes.

Instance 2

The next thing Singh noticed was how much Barry ate.

The kid ate a ton.

Singh was positive that every time he has seen him, he's eating something. Weather it be an apple, a candy bar, or a sandwich, he was eating something.

At first he thought nothing of it.

But then, he would notice Barry go out of his way to get some food. And typically some really high calorie stuff. And yet, he was still fit as a fiddle. It made no sense.

Instance 3

Singh turned the news off with a click.

The Flash was at it again. He had stopped a bank heist, but had gotten shot in the leg in the process. That had to hurt.

Singh glanced at his watch. Allen was late as per usual. He wanted to just be done with this day and get some Big Belly Burger.

Hardly two minutes later, Barry Allen walked into the precinct. Or, as Singh noticed with a frown, limped into the precinct.

Barry had a limp in his left leg, and Singh could see him wince slightly whenever he put weight on it.

Then he thought something else.

Didn't The Flash just get shot in the leg? The left leg?

Instance 4

Zoom's display of The Flash had left a horrible horrible mess in his wake.

There were countless news reports and crime rates skyrocketed. And to top it all off, Singh's best CSI was out with the flu.

But Singh couldn't help but wonder...

Joe was certainly acting very out of it. Very worried. He kept glancing at his phone, as if he was expecting to get some horrible phone call any second. The only other time Singh had seen Joe like this was when Barry was in a coma.

Singh drew in a sharp breath as pieces of a great big puzzle started to fall into place.

Instance 5

If there was one absolutely sure thing in this world, Singh thought, it was that Barry Allen was a horrible liar.

The world could give them meta humans and other earths, but Barry Allen would always remain a lousy liar.

It was one constant Singh could count on.

And how he confirmed his thoughts that Barry was The Flash.

Barry came into his office (merely a minute after The Flash had saved a bunch of people from a burning building) smelling like smoke.

Singh sighed and looked him straight in the eyes. "Allen you're The Flash." he said.

Barry spluttered and blinked, clearly caught by surprise.

"What?" He asked, his voice cracking slightly. "That's- that's ridiculous. I couldn't be- couldn't be The Flash."

"You know Allen," Singh said, laying back in his chair and smiling lightly, "You've always been a terrible liar."

A/N- Wow! Two chapters in one day! Well... a few hours. It might be a new day for some of you wackos staying up till three in the morning. ;)

Hope you guys enjoyed this one. It was a request from @MadTown523.  Funny enough I already had this chapter ready to write, I just renamed it and finally got inspiration to finish writing it.

I do love when I get random spurts of inspiration. It's so refreshing. :)
