Dirty Cops Part 2

What Happens at the CCPD

Singh aced the floor nervously as Joe raced up to him.

"David what happened to my kid?"

"Winfeild and Randall. They beat him up in an alley." Singh said.

"How bad is it?" Joe asked, his voice thick with concern.

"I don't know for sure, but bad." Singh thought of Barry's bloody face and twisted limbs and took a deep calming breath. That did not calm him at all.

His forensic assistant, the baby brother of the precinct, was in the hospital for crying out loud! Of course he wasn't fine!

"Damn it." Joe whispered, collapsing in the hospital chair. Singh agreed wholeheartedly.

Eventually, a nurse walked out, "Bartholomew Allen?"

Singh rushed over to the nurse, Joe a few steps behind him.

"Is he alright?" Joe asked.

The nurse smiled kindly, "He'll be alright. Took quite the beating though."

The officers breathed out a sigh of relief.

Singh swallowed hard, "How bad is it?"

The nurse looked at the two men, studying their concerned faces before hiving in and telling them. "He has multiple fractured, bruised, and broken ribs. His right leg is broken as is his right arm. He has a pretty bad concussion too. But e can't do much for that until he's awake."

"Thank you," Singh said.

"You can see him now if you like," the nurse said, "Only two at a time."

They nodded and went into the room where Barry was hooked up to a bunch of blinking machines. It unnerved Singh to see the happy, energetic kid so still and pale.

He was seriously considering punching those two officers in the face. Everyone makes mistakes. His could be losing control of his temper and punching those people a couple of times.

He heard a small groan from the bed, indicating that Barry was just about ready to rejoin the land of the living.

"Wha' 'appened?" Barry mumbled.

"You got beat up in an alley son," Joe said quietly.

"Again?" Barry asked.

"What do you mean again." Singh asked, his protective side coming into play.

Barry looked confused as to why the Captain was there, but shrugged it off for the time being. Barry looked at Joe curiously as well.

"I guess I didn't convince Ms. Bonnet that I was alright if you drove all the way up here. Must've been worse than normal." Barry said.

"Wore than normal?"

"What are you talking about Barry?" Joe asked.

Barry frowned, "Well, normally I can convince Ms. Bonnet to just patch me up herself, but I guess she called an ambulance this time."

"This time?" Singh asked.

"Well yeah," Barry said, "Richard and Mark are pretty consistent."

Realization crossed Joe's face. And then worry.

He pulled Singh aside and said quietly, "Richard and Mark were two boys who beat Barry up in collage. I managed to get it out of Barry when he was drunk a little while back. Ms. Bonnet must be the nurse who would patch him up."

Singh thought for a second, "But... Barry thinks they were the ones that beat him up. Not Winfeild and Randall. How many times has he been beat up?"

Joe sighed, "Too many. But that's beside the point right now." He turned to Barry, "Hey Bar, what year is it?"

Barry shrugged, "2009."

Singh cursed under his breath.

Joe swallowed hard and hit the call nurse button.

The nurse came in, "What's the matter?"

"He thinks it's 2009," Joe said.

"It's not?" Barry asked, his eyes suddenly wide.

Singh shook his head, "It's 2013 Allen."

Barry inhaled sharply, "What happened?"

"A couple dirty cops beat you up in an alley pretty bad."

The nurse was checking him over, "It must be the concussion."

"Will his memories come back?" Joe asked.

"They should. But we just don't know when. It's never certain with these sort of things." The nurse explained.

Singh clicked his fingers, "If we take him to familiar places, will that help jog his memory faster?"

"It could. Everyone's different."

"Let's give it a try," Joe said.

***** LINE BREAK *****

The next day after Barry was discharged from the hospital, Singh and Joe took him to the precinct with hopes of jarring his memories loose.

When Barry walked in, he was swarmed by concerned officers. The sad thing was that he didn't know who any of them were.

One person was more forceful though and she cannon balled her way to Barry.

"Barry!" She shouted, grabbing the sides of his face and checking him over. She was a muscular woman with brown hair with natural blonde highlights and bright blue eyes. Barry wasn't sure why, but he felt drawn to this woman as a son would to a mother. "I can't believe those two..."

She started ranting and fussing over Barry, and Singh and Joe slipped away, not wanting to get in her way. She was very feisty and very protective over Barry. She would go all mamma bear mode and when that happens, all the officers knew to steer clear.

Singh shook his head in astonishment, "I'll never get used to her being so motherly."

Joe chuckled, "I know. Maggie certainly doesn't seem like the motherly type. Especially when she's being a bad ass cop. But put her in the same room as Barry and bam, she's a whole new person."

"Speaking of Maggie being a bad ass cop," The receptionist, Bree cut in, "She may or may not have gotten a hold of Winfield and Randall."

Singh muttered a curse but with a smile. "They're well beat up I presume?"

Bree grinned and nodded.

Barry came over to them then, Maggie following with anger in her eyes.

"Captain, why has Barry lost his memories?" She said angrily.

The men gulped and Joe answered, "Well he has a concussion. They should come back we just don't know when. We are trying to get him to remember by showing him familiar things."

Maggie's eyes narrowed and she made a sharp 180 and headed in the directions of the holding cells.

Singh's eyes widened and he put his hand out to stop her, "Beating them up once I can overlook, but if you do it again I'll have to take disciplinary action. So please don't."

She growled, "I won't beat them up... I'll just yell at them and make them regret ever hurting my boy."

Singh's lips quirked upward as he opened his arms to let her through.

"Poor dear," Bree said. She pulled out a box from under her desk, "Have some brownies."

Joe reached to take one and Bree smacked his hand. "I didn't say you could have one."

Joe sadly drew his hand back. Singh was looking at the brownie box with lust.

Barry happily took a brownie and thanked Bree.

Then the head CSI came downstairs.

"Allen!" He said and came over to the group. He patted the kid on the shoulder. "You'll be back to work soon right? It's boring and bland without you."

A slightly confused smile graced Barry's face. He recognized this man, but he just couldn't quite place it. Like when a word is on the tip of your tongue.

"Mike," Joe said, "He's temporarily lost his memories, so he probably doesn't know who you are."

Mike's face fell, "Sorry kid."

Barry shrugged, "It's fine." He took a bite of his brownie and groaned in delight. "This is really good."

Bree smiled.

Suddenly, a few memories floated back into Barry's brain. He remembered who these people were.

Bree DeCoria, the receptionist who always had box of brownies. Margret (Maggie) May the scariest officer in the building for everyone except Barry who she was super motherly towards. And Mike Walsh, the head CSI who had taken Barry under his wing in the CSI department and actually appreciated Barry's work unlike some others.

Barry smiled.

"What?" Joe asked.

"I remember you guys!" Barry said cheerfully.

Bree smiled, "My brownies are magical."

"You know they are Bree," Mike said.

Everyone laughed. Little by little, the rest of Barry's memories came back. For at least a month, the precinct kept an extra eye on their baby brother, not letting him walk anywhere and always making sure he had a ride home.

And they vowed, if anyone ever hurt a hair on Barry Allen, they would have the entire police department after them.

A/N- I wasn't quite sure how to end it, so sorry if it's abrupt.

I introduced some characters I'm probably going to use in more one shots. Please let me know what you think of them.

Love y'all! :)
