Chapter 53

Oliver Queen

What Happens at the CCPD

Post lightning. Been a while since I've done one of these.

**********

Barry was having a rough day.

It started when he got in trouble with his boss again for being late. Then he had a ton of work to do and catch up on, and he wasn't going to leave for lunch until he finished this file, but it was proving to be a struggle. And a looooong struggle at that.

Barry growled and rubbed his head in frustration. Or maybe that was his stomach that growled. He couldn't tell.

He huffed and leaned back in his chair, trying to complete this damn case file, but he couldn't even stay focused anymore.

He let out a shout of frustration and chucked his pencil towards the door.

"Whoa!" A familiar voice cried.

Barry's head whipped up to see Oliver Queen dodge the pencil he threw.

"Ollie!" Barry shouted, his face lighting up as he super sped over to hug the archerer.

"Hey Bar." Oliver said, accepting the hug a little awkwardly.

"What are you doing here? Not that I'm not happy to see you. Do you need help in the city? If that's what it was you could've just called. So it's probably not that. Is there some other reason you're here? Are you..."

"Barry!"

Barry shut his mouth with an audible clop.

"If you would breath for a second, I could let you know why I'm here."

Barry waited for him to elaborate. "So..."

Oliver huffed, "Felicity is mad at me and temporarily kicked me out. I think she's just being emotional."

Barry couldn't help the small smile that crept onto his face.

"So what's got you so worked up that you're throwing pencils at innocent people walking through your doors." Oliver asked.

"While I wouldn't call you innocent," Barry said, smirking lightly, "the reason I'm throwing pencils is because I'm hangry. But I can't go eat lunch because I'm behind on work. Well, caught up except for the one I'm working on. But I can't focus so it's taking me forever!"

"Then take a break." Oliver said simply.

Barry blinked at him.

Oliver sighed, "Lunch on me."

Suddenly, there was a burst of wind and Barry was at the door with his coat. "You could've led with that!" he said, grinning.

Oliver rolled his eyes fondly and followed the CSI out the door.

***** LINE BREAK *****

Singh was talking to Joe in the bullpen when Barry came prancing down the staircase.

Behind him was freaking Oliver Queen.

"Come on Oliver," Barry whined, "I'm hungry."

"Quit you're whining ya big infant." Oliver said, ruffling Barry's hair.

Barry glared playfully at Oliver and fixed his hair. "You're a jerk."

"Maybe," Oliver shrugged.

"I could kick you out too," Barry said, smirking, "then you'd be all alone no one to hang out with until Felicity let's you back in."

Oliver rolled his eyes.

"Or I could just tell her that you think she's being unreasonable and emotional."

Oliver's eyes widened. "You wouldn't."

"Oh I would."

"Barry..." Oliver said.

"Ollie..." Barry mimicked.

Oliver then sighed in defeat. "You suck."

"Love you too."

Singh watched the exchange with wide, confused eyes. Joe was just smiling.

Singh watched them walk into the elevator, the multi millionaire's arm around Barry's shoulder. (Is he a millionaire or billionaire? Whatever. Either way it's more money than I have.)

"What the hell was that?" Singh asked, turning to Joe. "Since when did Allen know freaking Oliver Queen? And know him well enough to threaten and joke with him?"

Joe laughed and shrugged, "They're basically brothers, though neither would ever admit it."

"Yes, but when?"

Joe frowned thoughtfully, "I think they met before the lightning, when Barry went to Starling City. And then they kept in touch afterwards. I don't really know the details, you'd have to ask Barry."

"I think I will."

***** LINE BREAK *****

When Barry and Oliver got back from lunch, Singh walked up to them.

"Allen," he said, "Mr. Queen."

"Hey Captain, what can I do for you?" Barry asked.

"I was just curious how you two met." he said, folding his arms.

The two men smiled.

"It's kinda funny actually," Barry said, "So I went to that case in Starling City before the lightning, and Oliver was there also working on that case. I met his girlfriend- well, she wasn't his girlfriend at the time- cause she's a computer genius. You remember Felicity Smoak, don't you?"

Barry didn't even wait for a response before he continued. Oliver rolled his eyes fondly.

"Well, something happened, still not really sure what, but I ended up needing to save Oliver's life."

"You saved his life?"

"He saved my life."

"With rat poison!"

Singh looked at Barry, alarmed and perplexed. "You saved him with rat poison?"

Barry nodded happily.

"And since then Barry and I have been friends," Oliver said, "usually happens when someone saves your life."

"Yup!" Barry said. "Was that all you needed sir?"

"Yeah," Singh said, waving him off.

The two bounded up the stairs. Singh watched them go, still perplexed.

He shook his head.

"Rat poison?"

A/N- Dunno how this one turned out. I've been wanting to do one with Oliver for a while. I just don't think I'm that great at writing him. So sorry if he's a bit ooc.

Love y'all! :)
