Chapter 1498 - I'll Settle This
A Stay-at-home Dad’s Restaurant In An Alternate World
âA dirty transaction. These disgusting maggots should just disappear from the surface of the earth.â Elizabeth raised her hand slowly, and the temperature around dropped.
Just then, she suddenly turned to look in the northwestern direction. She squinted a little and hesitated for a while before she lowered her hand. She snorted softly, and disappeared from outside the tearoom.
There were two 7th-tier powerhouses in the tearoom. If she wanted to kill those three at the same time, she would have to put in everything she got.
Meanwhile, she could sense an 8th-tier aura moving. It should be a patrolling officer from the Gray Temple.
She still wanted to stay in Chaos City and grow old with Miya. If she attacked the three men suddenly, she might not be able to continue staying in Chaos City.
âHe might be more suitable to solve such things. Even though heâs not powerful enough, he has quite a lot of ideas,â Elizabeth muttered to herself. The first person that came to her mind was Mag.
âRena, are you alright? Who bullied you?â Yabemiya asked as she gently patted Renaâs back.
It was the first time she saw Rena crying so sadly, and she could not help but feel anxious.
âI⦠Iâm fine. Iâm just in a bad mood. Iâm much better now that Iâve cried.â Rena gradually calmed down and took two steps back. She looked at Yabemiyaâs tear-stained clothes with embarrassment, and said, âIâm sorry, Miya, Iâve made you worried.â
âItâs alright. Weâre friends.â Miya shook her head, though she felt that Rena was not simply in a bad mood. She saw Rena running out from that teahouse and becoming like this with her own eyes.
However, since Rena didnât want to talk about it, she did not probe.
âItâs so cold outside. Why donât I send you back? I came out just now to practice flying,â Miya said.
âItâs alright. I can go back on my own. Itâs just downstairs.â Rena wiped her tears, and squeezed out a smile. She shook her head, and said, âGo practice flying. Iâll be off first. Otherwise, my mother would be worried about me.â
Rena even waved goodbye to Yabemiya before quickly turning around to walk home. That fellow was too dangerous, and she did not want Miya and the rest to fall prey because of her.
âLetâs go, out of the city,â Elizabeth said softly as she appeared beside Yabemiya.
âBut Renaâ¦â
âIâll tell you on the way.â A giant snowflake appeared beneath Elizabeth, and the two disappeared in a blue flash.

âThat is to say that someone is threatening Rena to leave Mamy Restaurant, and help him with his hot pot restaurant. Rena would not agree to it, so he is using Renaâs mother to threaten her?â Yabemiya shot out a series of questions in shock as she looked at Elizabeth.
âYes.â Elizabeth nodded.
Yabemiya thought carefully for a while before asking, âThen⦠Then how should we help her?â
âI wanted to kill them all.â
âD-did you?â
âNo.â
âWhewâ¦â Yabemiya let out a sigh of relief before reminding Elizabeth, âMurder in Chaos City is a very grave crime.â
âThey donât think that way.â Elizabeth shook her head. When she saw Yabemiyaâs worried face, she added, âBut I donât intend to kill them anymore.â
âMaybe we can let Boss settle this matter. He would have a plan,â Yabemiya said as her eyes widened.
âSounds good.â Elizabeth nodded calmly.

When Clarince opened the door, she saw Renaâs reddened eyes, and guessed that she mustâve cried. She quickly grabbed Renaâs hands, and nervously asked, âRena, whatâs wrong? Did that man bully you?â
âNo, itâs just too cold outside. Itâs so cold that I almost cried.â Rena shook her head as she rubbed her hands together and stomped her feet with exaggeration. She closed the door with a smile, and said, âItâs so warm at home.â
âSilly child.â Clarince smiled before asking with concern, âDid you return the thing to him?â
âMm-hm. I returned it.â Rena nodded. The image of Bennettâs face surfaced in her mind, and she clenched her fists subconsciously as fear enveloped her.
âThatâs great. Thatâs great.â Clarince smiled gladly. She looked at Rena, and said, âI donât need to live in riches. I just want to live happily without a guilty conscience.â
âMm-hm,â Rena responded softly as tears started welling up in her eyes. She turned to her side and headed to the washroom as she said, âMother, Iâm a little tired. Iâll take a shower and go to sleep. You should sleep first.â
âOkay. Iâll put your pajamas by the door.â

The next morning, Rena ran into Miya and the rest just as she walked out of her house.
âGood morning, Rena,â Miya greeted her with a smile. After that, she hooked her arm with hers, and cheerily said, âYouâre very pretty today too.â
Rena looked at Miyaâs energetic smile, and felt a little warmer inside. She greeted Miya back with a smile, and then greeted Elizabeth and the rest before they all walked to the restaurant together.
When they arrived at the end of the alley, Rena subconsciously turned back to glance at the teahouse that was named âBenâ. She shuddered.
âToday seemed to have gotten colder.â Miya grabbed Renaâs cold hands with her warm hands, and smilingly said, âRena, can I try the spicy hot pot you make tonight? Today feels like the best time to have hot pot.ân/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
âIâm fine with it,â Babla agreed.
âSame here.â Connie raised her hand.
âM-me too,â Jane chimed in.
âCanât we have it in the morning?â Elizabeth asked.
Everyone was slightly taken aback for a while before they burst out in laughter.
Rena also smiled. The warmth traveled from her palms to her heart.
Therefore, Mag had hot pot early in the morning for no rhyme or reason.
He did not have a reason for not having hot pot in the morning. After some careful thought, he decided that it wasnât bad to have hot pot for breakfast except for the fact that it was a little troublesome. The heat and spiciness could dispel the chill and tiredness.
After the morning operating hours, Elizabeth did not rush off. Instead, she stayed back and waited for everyone to leave before telling Mag about what had happened in detail.
âHas recent competition become so fierce and vile?â Mag frowned. It was not strange that someone outstanding would be poached, but he was really very unhappy about how they used such underhanded means to achieve their goal.
He knew very clearly how much Renaâs mother meant to her, and so he was a little touched that Rena would still choose to stay in Chaos City despite the threat and the attractive offer.
âIâll settle this,â Mag said coldly as he threw his apron on the table at the side.
